Welcome to my ultimate beginner's guide to cooking and farming in Lord of the Rings Online in 2023, where we do a complete walkthrough of the LOTRO cooking and farming system and the various tips and tricks to get the most out of making ingredients, food, ale, beers, pipeweed, and a whole slew of other fun stuff that grows in the ground and comes out of an oven!
If you are new to LOTRO in 2023, this is the ultimate tutorial to getting the most out of the Yeoman vocation in Lord of the Rings Online, which combines cooking and farming. You'll be able to plant and harvest all of the ingredients you need to cook the recipes of the game, plus pipeweed and festive drinks to boot!
We also discuss some tips and tricks to getting the most out of your farming experience, such as harvesting multiple crops at once, plus the more nuanced aspects of crafting, such as the difference between normal ovens and superior ovens, and why I think the Shire is the best place to set up shop as a cook and farmer!

Hi. A little trick. Go to the key settings and specify the buttons for "Select the next item" and "Use Selection". After that, we sow 10 fields right in front of us, without moving, and then click on these buttons one by one. He himself will choose the next field and collect it.

Yes, probably due to the fact that I have Enduring Universal Toolkit, I can work out 10 fields.

@@AveL0L You know, I never took that into consideration, with the speed bonuses you get with it. I'm gonna have to check that out.

I can do 40 at a time and using this method you can plant them on top of each other, the key is using SELECT NEXT instead of SELECT NEAREST. Some things are faster with better toolkits. The Enduring Universal Toolkit reduces crop harvesting time -4.5 seconds per pick. Some things are faster with the VIP subscriber buffs - 5x faster! Sowing each field is 1 second instead of 5 seconds. Just plant 40 fields and as soon as they’re all planted drum your fingers across the SELECT NEXT and USE keys (which you should set right next to each other): tap-tap, tap-tap, tap-tap, etc. 40 times. Quick and efficient, then repeat until you’ve planted and harvested as much as you like. And you can be mostly AFK for most of it! If you want to get a character past the earliest levels with very little effort and very little attention to the game while it’s happening, this is one of the most efficient ways to do it. All the character needs is a little seed money (Get it? Seed money?). The character will end up with a tidy amount of extra gold by vendoring the farming (and cooking) products. Getting to Level 20 is very fast and Level 50 takes some time but is doable. If you just want to boost a character to a certain level so it can join one of your friends at that level or to earn some Destiny Points (200 per level-up past 10), this is the way to do it.
