Did this "expert" invoke astrology to explain one of her points? Compelling stuff... The core point of the talk is still unclear to me, but it might be because of my astrological sign, sadly.

Top notch presentation and Q&A by the speaker. The mostly white male, aged, and highly emotionally repressed, online "watch community" (and disappointingly unsupportive in-person audience?) won't like the curtain being drawn back like this. Because they justify their expenditure on wrist jewelry on the basis of "logic", "investment" and "specifications". And a general sense of superiority - the "I'm a man and I'm not affected by marketing or anything emotional" mentality. Whereas the speaker lays bare the emotional aspects of watch marketing and purchasing. Which is highly effective but very few men will admit to being affected by it (especially "watch enthusiasts"). Plus the speaker is a highly articulate, successful, bilingual American which really brings out the haters. Who are gonna... Hate, hate, hate, hate, hate, hate... Feedback to HSNY: Well done for spotlighting a different voice. Delaying video releases of lectures on KZfaq is self-defeating. If you want to grow interest in horology and your society (and membership and fees) then being up-to-the-minute is essential to being the part of the online conversation.

I’m just starting the video, but I don’t understand your bias toward white, middle aged men. That seems as hateful an attitude as those you claim to be emotionally repressed and unsupportive.

Loads of marketing bs and not enough interesting content. More than half is adverts. Also the aim of her job is to convince people to buy watches…nothing more profound.

I stopped watching as soon as she brought up the pseudoscience of Astrology. “I’m a Capricorn-Moon”. How am I supposed to take you seriously as a speaker?

Dozens of children pictures of the presenter (too many), many watch commercials (too many). A truly content free presentation, nothing new, original or remotely interesting. Full of self promotion and the worst: absolutely boring lecture. Was this a paid promotion lecture?
