I have reviewed this watch as part of a comparison review before, and it did have an issue with its bezel action, that damaged its chances compared to the others in that review. This review however digs deeper, and I have had longer with the watch to get a better feel for it to share my findings with you all.
I bought this watch from Heimdallr directly, and found the import fees to be huge (£40) for some reason. The good news is that if a European warehouse of stock benefits you, you can save money on fees compared to importing direct from China. The choice is limited though in comparison.

When I "discovered" Heimdallr website, I got a little excited and ordered 3 different watches. All three arrived with defects. Too long to explain, but basically two out of three are usable, and are in my rotation. One is obviously missing any anti-reflective coating, although on the website pictures it is DEFINITELY coated, and coated very well. I had to use a small file to smooth sharp protruding bezel lume pip on the other. That did not completely fix the problem, only made it not as bad. There are more problems and imperfections - as I said, it would be too long to list them all. Sadly, third watch came with a broken movement - crown does not move the hands, and makes a horrible sound. They provided a shipping label for some jeweler in upstate NY, so I sent it there. Obviously, I am reluctant to order from them again, although their selection and prices are pretty amazing. YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR.

Great review. I really appreciate the info/history bit. Always nice to learn stuff and I've always been uncertain how old the Seiko "Tuna" model actually is. Esp. since they've done some variations of them (like the "Arnie"). Keep up the good work.

Looking for an orange dial and this video convinced me to pull the trigger on the orange tuna can in rubber! Love the sea shepherd bit of trivia...add sto the whole personality! Thanks bud!

The white dial one that you are looking at . I have one on which I had to change the hands from silver to black because of visibility, also the new dial with the bullet hour markers has very poor lume.

I have had 3 Heimdallr watches . Orange Monster, Willard and the Turtle. All were perfect! All were amazing value. No issues what so ever.

I love the green. I was going back-and-forth between it and the orange. I got the stainless steel bracelet but I really like the rubber look, but hate dealing with rubber clasps I’m hoping the loom is better than my Seiko flight watch

I just got one. The antiglare (SR) coating is horrible. Looking at the watch straight on, it almost looks slightly hazy. My bezel is tight as well. Everything else is really nice There is plenty of room in the strap for anyone. I have an 8 1/2 inch wrist I still have to take a link or two out or I can just wear it loosely as a bracelet like I do other watches

Unrelated to anything but after watching a few of your modding videos I tooled up & cleaned the dial & underside of the crystal on a very affordable watch I bought with a few QC problems, it worked out really well, though it took me 3 attempts to make it perfect. I did have fun with its pop off case back cunningly disguised as a screw down though, I went through 2 case back removal tools & a local jewelers before figuring it out, d'oh! I'm completely blaming you & Pete from "Chillin' with Watches" for my sudden watchy adventurousness I don't think I would have even attempted it otherwise so thanks very much. Now, I've just bought a SS brutalist digital monster & I've spotted some dust under the glass...

Great vid. Personal observation, several attemps via their chat and then an email has left me with no feedback. I would execise some caution since Heimdallr appears unresponsive pre purchase.

I have this watch and the Seiko Kinetic PADI diver with this same case shape. I prefer the bezel of the Heimdallr. The bezel on my Seiko is too easy to turn and gets bumped off center very easily.

Just a note . One of the screws holding on the shroud of the watch was coming loose . While I was going to tighten it up , I loosened the remaining screws as I always wondered what it looked like without the shroud . To my surprise , to me it looks a million times better without it . I really liked it before but now I really love it !!!!!! I put the screws back in without the shroud and good to go !!!!

Not sure about that green...And would look better on a waffle/tropical. £40 fees? That probably means Fed ex and or Royal Mail import charges. No sale. Soz (note to self watch the whole video before commenting)

The tuna does not have a helium release valve. It took them over 7 years to figure out how to make the tuna work without one. They invented the “L” shape crystal gasket to keep helium out.

I concur, this is true. No helium escape valve on the Tuna. L shaped casket instead.

In your opinion is The Heimdallr much superior in all aspects against the other Tuna Homages?? Such as Sam Martin.Proxima.Steeldive. As for me THe Hemdallr looks a cut above the rest. Let's hear it from The Watch Wizard lol...

lol, thanks! I did have two (accidently bought two at the same time!). One was perfect, and the other had a VERY stiff bezel. It was very well made for the money, and I love the colour choices.

Just commented on another video my research findings on these Watches . Heim/ San Martin/Steeldive\Cronos\all of these brands Homages are made by Guangzhou Qiin Watch Do., LTD All are the same Watches 6105\53\62\Tunas etc.etc. and are priced respectfully to what name is on the Dial . Example: San Martin Sub @$235 can be had for $109 from them with different Logo's on it , same Watch tho . 😂

They are similar watches. Qiin makes the steeldives. and if you look closely there are quite a few differences in case shapes, hands and final finish that makes it different watches. Different enough in physical appearance ( and not just price) to prefer one over the other.

This is inaccurate. Cronos and San Martin are made by LugYou and are of a higher quality.

Island Terror The factory that produces Cronos/LugYou and San Martin is different to Steeldive. Yes they are similar. No they are not the same. The finishing on the SAN Martin and Cronos offerings are to a higher standard and in some cases make use of domed crystals rather than flat crystals found on the Steeldive & Heimdallr models. They also have better brushing, hands, bracelets and lume. They are not the same end product but definitely similar and there are some brands that share components but assemble in house with varying levels of quality control. Where I do agree with you is that some of the cheaper watches offer excellent value. I myself purchased a Steeldive SD1970 for £73 from Guangzhou Qiin for this very reason. That being said the San Martin 6105 homage is not the same and is definitely of a higher quality. I just was not prepared to pay twice as much for it.

Nice review mate. I have a quick question though... Seeing as you got two of them, why didn't you send back the faulty bezel one? I have a San Martin Tuna homage myself. I swapped out the rubber strap for a bracelet though. Which I really like. kzfaq.info/get/bejne/gZ6pktl71Z3XeGw.html I've got a couple of Heimdallrs, including the stunning Kanagawa Great Wave. I've actually recently ordered one of their SKX homages myself too.

I do like your great wave watch, what a beauty. I will be sending back the squiffy one, and kept it a while longer whilst I waited for the "other" shepherd to arrive. I wondered if they would both have the same issue, and as luck would have it, they don't! These watches are addictive aren't they!

watch me with watches , my Monster bites sometimes, or rather nips I should say. I don’t mind as it’s true to character. Never broken the skin mind you do not a big issue.
