In the year 2051, Earth is just about completely devoid of natural fauna. 3 years prior, creatures would descend from Russia and invade the rest of the planet, Almost completely annihilating human life in that short amount of time. With the Homo sapiens race running out of options, they must go back in the past, to recruit humans to help them fight these monsters. In todays episode, we will discuss what those creatures are and a possible origin point based on physiology and social structures!

Something I've been wondering. If they can jump 30 years back in time, wouldn't it make more sense to bring one of the creatures back with them and have humanity prepare for their eventual arrival? 30 years of developing countermeasures sure seem like they could change the outcome.

But what really got me to screaming at the Movie was that they got all depressed because they had the Queen-Poison but could not deliver the massproduced Quantitys to the Future cause the Future-Portal was Brokey-Broke. WTF. WTF. WTF. They are all whiny about not being able to get the Poison to Humanity BUT THEY ARE HUMANITY!! What the fluffy fluff-puff are they thinking?!!? @@slevinchannel7589 Well personally I think that point is being blown out a bit more than necessary. See, it was Dan of whatever Chris Pratt’s character was, idea to send it to the future. When future Dans daughter was working on the poison it was always hers and presumably most of the war efforts desire for him to simply produce it and kill em before it even happened. What’s super dumbassery is that when he told military lady what that vial was when Dan woke up and he actually let it go (which we don’t know when this happened) that she didn’t tell the govt and the govt didn’t go ape shit with taxpayer money producing that poison. Anyone with 2 brain cells should realize that sending it back to the future was never necessary about 12 seconds after Dan said that. Now for the part that REALLY pissed me off. When they did the injections on the ship, why in the ever loving fuck did Dan not go straight for the queen WHO WAS IN A OBVIOUSLY LARGER POD. Obviously the real reason is the plot demanded it but damn in cannon that’s a stupid ass move. I mean ffs the fact it even killed the other white spikes there didn’t prove a damn thing about future daughter being right because it ALREADY KILLED MALES. Furthermore do you really expect me to believe 2 people planted explosives in the right place in as little time as they had to make the whole ship go boom and actually kill the rest of those bastards? For some race that somehow crippled humanity in three years they sure where susceptible to being blown the fuck up by conventional means.

One major flaw of the movie is they didn’t kill the female while she’s restricted. Dan already suggested to kill her but Muri denied saying they’re out of time. But the funny part is, they still had lots of time and they can just unload a whole magazine to her neck and it’s done. It is also the female that found them afterwards. If they just killed her right then and there, the female wouldn’t have led the males to the helipad and they could’ve gotten away.

Dan felt like he was destined to be involved in something important and left his wife and child because the disappointment was eating at him. His daughter wanted to give him that chance, which was why he was one of the last to be drafted - Mari waited until the toxin was almost complete, put him in the Research Group, so that she could give him the toxin before sending him back. This was partially successful: what Dan realized was that the most important thing he'll ever be is a husband and father.

WHY are they so durable though? It just doesn't make sense for an implied engineered animal like this to just shrug off piercing bullets of that caliber without some mumbo jumbo forcefield or something. If their hides are that effective, they should harvest them and craft armor and make weapons specifically to counter alien threats like it. How Weapons development should work but nope. Making them easier to kill doesnt minimize the threat, lowballing human's gift of tool making and advancement just makes the aliens look bad.

@@HeilRay It makes total sense for an engineered animal. It would make far less sense for an animal to evolve all these traits. Let's not mention that they were engineered by aliens. These things may be common cannon fodder for these advanced species, which may also mean that to these aliens, our weapons could be nothing but actual pea shooters compared to their weaponry. I however do agree that they made humans underpowered when it came to ingenuity.
@Liesmith424

@@HeilRay The alien durability makes sense, but the humans having non-piercing ammo doesn't. They could've at least had one line of dialogue to explain "this ammunition was designed after years of study to be able to pierce them at the neck and abdomen--their armor everywhere else is still too thick for anything handheld to puncture." That'd at least make it seem like the humans had the best weapons for the job, instead of just whatever was lying around.

Polar bears don't reproduce at the same rate, swim in the same manner, run nor swim at the same speed, have the same level of stamina, climb flat walls, do not predict attacks nor have armor on their back that they can quickly use whenever they notice that they are being attacked, fly, climb, shoot out spikes with high accuracy, hunt and consume literally everything from fish to cats to dogs to horses to humans, have even half as many limbs that are used for attacking, one polar bear running at top speed into a Humvee doesn't cause it to flip over several times, nor can they f*cking fly bro 😂😂 That part of the plot that had holes wasn't the creature itself, cause an animal like that if given 2 years to reproduce without being bothered can definitely throw off the ecosystem of an entire continent quickly, the holes were in them not simply saying "Okay, let's spend these next 30 years trying to figure out where they come from and do research on incendiary weapons or bullets that are made from the armor that's on their backs, and also station 100,000 soldiers from different armies within the 100 mile radius that we know that they came from" etc etc

@@nitro8529 sorry for the wrong word, they can glide* as shown in the movie, is that better man? Bears can't glide just yet right? It's like you made a comparison without thinking any factors through and just want to stick to it now lol They also climbed up the last military base that is shown in the movie, or was that military base not a flat wall but actually slanted? Polar bears CAN theoretically eat anything & everything just like humans can and yet we humans don't rampage around a bush eating every lizard or frog that we see in public when we're hungry while traveling home from work, correct? Polar bears do not eat everything for pretty obvious reasons like not being capable of traveling to New York City nor Egypt nor being able to survive different temperatures and understanding how to conserve food, while White Spikes can travel anywhere & will eat everything, I'm sure you can tell the differences there. Polar bears will also not run 300 ft away to look for food just because they hear a pebble drop on the ground, nor can polar bears use a high ground when hunting You didn't break down speed differences for both land and water, nor reproduction rates, nor bears having much more cumbersome & almost scripted movement when they are fighting other bears which the spikes do not have as they react much faster, nor them being able to communicate against prey/predators through pheromones and cries, nor polar bears only using 2 limbs plus their mouth as a weapon unless you have a video recording of polar bears using their hind legs for attacking like a character from Kung Fu Panda lol White Spikes were shown using all 4 limbs plus their tentacles plus spikes plus attack in groups while polar bears do not which would be what makes the difference in attacking helicopters and other vehicles, the only land vehicle that would be formidable would be a tank as it would be much harder to flip over but a regular Humvee and a helicopter would get knocked over or knocked down. Your entire comparison relies on removing the fact that they were allowed to grow their population for several years before coming into contact with a human who was able to alert others of their existence 10,000 of these can definitely decimate a village or town or outpost in the mountains of Russia in minutes before others are able to be made aware especially when you can see that they do not hunt and simply spend time consuming their meal but they hunt, take a bite, and then continue to kill anything else in the area that is alive which is another thing that bears do not do lol Don't get me wrong, they should've nuked the Queen's location once it was discovered but I'm assuming that they already lost access to the higher end of military power by the time that the nest was discovered.

I feel like there was a sub plot that was eventually cut. The soldiers from the future gas lit the past into thinking it was their future and had to help. But in reality they were from an alternate timeline and they were using the past timeline for meat shields out of desperation. Additionally, Muri was running experiments on the toxin but the plug was pulled when the higher ups discovered it couldn't be mass produced in time. Yeah, it was executed fairly well, it's a good action flick with a fun and interesting premise, but it lacks polish. Technically, that's kind of how most action flicks are anyway, especially sci-fi ones (the CGI is often weird and flaky if you look close), but this one could have used a few people dedicated to closing plotholes in the writing. Still a fun film. I saw a preview for it while watching something else on Amazon and decided the concept was good enough to watch, plus it's Chris Pratt (who, I'll be honest, doesn't have the acting chops to really sell the serious roles; even if he did fine in the film overall), and I don't regret it. Heck, I'd probably watch it again in the future.

I watched this movie few days ago and despite the multiple plot holes and the fact that the humans were completely devoid of logic and common sense, I enjoyed it very much. A great popcorn flick without a doubt. I've seen enough alien invasion movies, but so far, the White Spikes were the scariest imo and reminded me of the Outriders from Avengers: Infinity War. I really wish we get a sequel to this or maybe a prequel where they touch up on the origin of the White Spikes and the aliens that brought them to Earth.

I have a hard time beliving that the russian army alone wouldnt have been enough to genbocide these things. Even a hundred year old tank at that point would be impossible to overcome by creatures with theeth and Bonespikes... Also theire armor is only up to .223 protection levels, anything bigger punches through. Fire is highly effective aswell. And the russians have tons of thermobaric wepons which would be these things cryptonite. Yes these creatures are extremely dangerous to untrained civilians without any decent equipment. But to mechanised military? No way. so, changes to the timeline would only travel forward in time at the speed of time(this is based on current understandings of relativity)... frankly there shouldn't even be a problem with sending anyone through the portal though, as like we're constantly changing what atoms are in us, doesn't make much sense what would cause the problem. the problem with a PARTICLE meeting itself would be that there was a theory that said that they're annihilate each other. it's probably not even true.

@@HeadlessZombY there's even a hypothesis in physics called the "one-particle-hypothesis", which states the there may actually be only one instance of every type of particle in existence, but it can travel both forwards and backwards in time giving the illusion of many instances of every particle. For example, there may just be only one single electron in existence in the universe, travelling forward and backward in time so that it can effectively take the place of all the electrons we perceive at the same time.

@@thegamesforreal1673 I am aware of this theory, I don't personally put much stock in it though. I believe it's more of how we abstract quantum interactions, it more or less could be possible, we don't have much of a way of knowing with our current understanding. I recently saw a video on topology of mobius strips and how they can be used to describe time paradoxes. there is no paradox, it will simply cycle until possibly something changes to create the lowest energy state, this could be a repeating pattern or going back in time to kill your grand father somehow doesn't completely cancel out in the then when the grandfather died.

I disagree and think this version of time travel is quite solid if you go with the idea that there are two time lines. the first being the future where the white spikes win and the second one being the result of the ending we see where all the white spikes are killed before they can spread. This is also supported further by the fact those who get sent to the future usually die or are traumatised which isn't shown to affect the future.
