I still miss when 4 guys who loved what they did made music all over the world without any orchestra and extra people on the band
@jonnyrocket36593 жыл бұрын
wow... I'd have loved to see them live in the 60's when there were just the 4 of them on stage. I didn't see them live until 1980 when I was 16, there was a keyboard player added to the band and some backing singers. I think some music was on backing tracks, but not entirely sure about that. Must admit I do like to watch them with the full band, with horns etc.. and with banjo (I forget which track). I really enjoy the Tommy and Quad albums which featured so many more instruments, which are first class works of art.. better to listen to a live reproduction of the most famous albums in the world ? surely ?

Awesome captures on all of your videos from the Royal Albert Hall show. What camera did you use for this?

martymoviemaker Cheers! It's a Panasonic TZ7.

Wow. for a camera that's 8 years old, it takes some great video and audio at a live concert.

martymoviemaker I know! I had a newer model and it wasn't as good as this one... so I I take good care of it.

He 's playing more like the studio version, and you're expecting a live rendition bt K. Moon. Both are great drummers . I'll look if Simon Phillips or Kenny jones have a take on any of these songs.

Hope I'm wrong, but Roger's voice sounds electronically enhanced here.

4orrcountry I don’t think it is. His voice has just changed a lot. He can’t hit those high notes anymore.

This sounds amazing at live at leeds but later on, the who started adding "orchestras" live ,..which kinda wrecks it ,.. this is meant to be organic,,

Sorry but The Who performing the complete "Tommy" in April 2017, sounds a little unrehearsed to me. If you do look, the bass player seems tuning in the middle of the song.
@gigskrislw77456 жыл бұрын
Luileadolfo That’s because this was supposed to be an acoustic performance. When Pete came out, on the night, he said that it needed to be performed as a full electric set... that’s probably why. It was awesome being there, I was satisfied on the night!

Luileadolfo Plus the bass player had come in at late notice.

Yes yes, but he plays well then specially before he starts singing and he also sings good! When 1921 starts i like it that Pete begins and then probably because of the higher notes Roger finishes, but other then the original record where only Pete is singing Roger often sings 21 complete, like at Ilse of Wight (What a Gig!!).

It was a very underperformed performance, and the first time they had played Tommy in it's entirety since 89
