Everything seems stupid….what were they thinking? I or any die hard fans would’ve wrote far better story than this…..why the big sequels goes like this…..and yes they did let us down…..thay said norse will be wrapped up so why the crap you would let the answer to that who blew the horn kept away from this game?! And kept it for god knows which future game and when that future game will be available?! I'll say that having two world serpents is a time paradox. But I think that the serpent from GOW2018 didn't went to Ragnarok because it'll cause ANOTHER time paradox which might cause some catastrophic results.

There is the Bootstrap Paradox. I believe this is what you have question about but sadly, it will never be explained. The Bootstrap Paradox is simple. The Serpent was sent back in time, lets Atreus knows to go to Ironwood. Serpent gets awakened, sent back in time and grows. However, who was the one that let Atreus knows to go to Ironwood, if there wasn't a Serpent that was already sent back in time? How can this be, if at one point, there wasn't a Serpent that was already sent back in time to let Atreus knows and there's no answer to this.

That’s honestly a part of the prophecy that could have encouraged Freya to ally with Kratos so much earlier. If she somehow learned that she could bring Baldr back but Ragnarok needed to happen for him to return. Then again, if we go by Norse myth then a couple of notable Aesir should have survived this game. Magni and Modi survived Ragnarok in mythology and inherited Mjolnir, that’s a role they gave to Thrud in the game. But perhaps the most interesting for a next installment in the Norse setting would be Vidal, Odin’s son who is supposed to avenge the death of Baldr and the death of Odin. That’s a character that in this narrative should have hunted down Kratos, but his role was instead partly given to Freya.

That's not a paradox. He was assuring his own existence, because if Atreus had not gone to Ironwood, then he would not become the world serpent. That's him AVOIDING a paradox

I think he means that Jormangandr telling Atreus to go to Iron wood is what creates the paradox because he sews the seeds that eventually cause his own existence

That didn't hit me until I read it. Hate me for this later but wouldn't this paradox be fixed if there's a dialogue that says the 'old' snake is dead before or after the great battle? that wat the paradox fixes itself. I think that's is what we're missing.

It's easier to look at from the snakes perspective. So his soul gets infused into the snake in Jötunheim where he keeps growing. During Ragnarok he goes to Asgard and fights Thor, during the battle he's sent back in time where he stays in Midgard for the rest of time. So he never encounters himself

I’m assuming it was because he was asleep but even then he probably knew if he jumped in then it can cause a paradox or suffer severe time consequences I.e Loki and Ago don’t create the version of him that gets sent back in time

Because on the prophetic stone mural that they find in Jotunheim at the end of GOW 2018 it shows Kratos laying dead in his son's arms with a big snake bursting forth from his dead body. I don't quite understand why they depicted the events the way they did on that mural because it didn't line up with what actually happened in GOW Ragnarok. The ONLY thing that happened that mirrors the images shown on the mural was when Odin had his soul taken from his body by Atreus after the final confrontation and Odin ends up in the exact same position as what we thought to be Kratos on the mural.

I get that you are salty because you don't believe that GOW Ragnarok lived up to the hype and popularity of the first game, but your rant was far too long for me to attempt to fully absorb and process. I know this sounds like I'm saying TLDR but in reality I glossed over it enough to get the gist, so I didn't ignore it entirely. I will say however that I don't agree with your opinion on the game because I thought it was fantastic. Sure the story elements and plot could've been better, and the events in the game most likely didn't quite align with the actual historic Norse mythological stories/events/characters, but it's entertainment. Fiction much like the way the Assassin's Creed games were made. Some actual historic events/figures being involved in the story but not being written to be 100% historically accurate. You just have to accept the game for what it is and not get worked up or upset because it didn't live up to your uber high expectations. What I don't like is the fact that GOW Ragnarok didn't get a SINGLE nomination for ANY of the categories for GOTY 2022. The game was phenomenal and deserves MUCH better recognition than what it got. The reviews alone are evidence of that fact.

I wish I could discuss all this with Mat Sophos….Cory Barlog and of course Eric Williams. Of course it’s entertainment and they are supposed to be great.
