Thanks for the tips, I got one of these today, and although working fine, It might not be the only mechanical clock I get hold of! :) There are simpler clocks that are just as nice, but I like this style too!

Hello sir, This is the first time I've come across your channel. I'm Dutch myself and I inherited a Zaanse clock from my grandparents a few years back. Recently I discovered there's quite the market for Zaanse clocks across the globe, especially in the USA. Could you tell me how this came to be and why they are in such demand by American collectors? I never knew they were so popular.

Sorry friend! I don't know either.

I was looking for videos on how to set my parents' Zaanse clock and saw that yours is exactly the same. Talk about coincidence.

Love the ending. Just got one of these today. It looks pretty cool with Dutch writing and Atlas on it. But its missing a pendulum on the one I got. Oh well.

I have the exact same clock but I have problem to adjust the time... she is going too fast. I noticed that my pendulum is way shorter than yours. Wouls you have an idea on ... if there is way to adjust her so she keep the time? Please?
@roncalverley6 жыл бұрын
Lower the bob (weight) on the pendulum by turning the nut that is on the end of the pendulum rod.

Hey Ron....I see this is an old video but thought you could help me. I have a Zaanse atlas clock but it is the larger version (looks to be 36" tall) and has the Urgos UW 7/48 movement in it. The reason I am trouble shooting is that all of a sudden the chime side chain just began dropping continuously with no stopping and constantly chiming. I have just removed carefully the movement and I am looking for the culprit but not quite sure what to look for. I don't see anything that looks dirty or broken at first glance. The clock was cleaned and repaired before it was given to my wife and I by my Father in Law. Any thoughts?
@roncalverley Жыл бұрын
Hi Aaron, Thank you for watching and commenting. Unfortunately, unless I was able to physically see the movement, I really do not have any idea what is wrong. Guess I'm not much help to you.

I have one of these I have bought at an auction ..but doesn't work ..I was thinking the spring gets weak

There is likely only cleaning and re-oiling needed.

I am about to buy a Zaanse clock. The weighs move and it makes tik sound but the pendelum remains still after some swings. Do you have a clue where the problem would lie?
@roncalverley4 жыл бұрын
There may be several reasons. I would have to see it to understand the problem.

Hi I have the same clock., but when I hang on the Pendulum it stops moving, is that mean I need to oil it?
@roncalverley4 жыл бұрын
The problem is that you are too heavy to hang on the pendulum 🤣 Okay! That was not nice for me to say, but I just couldn't help it this time. 😁

Hi Ron! My dad has the exact same clock but the weights are missing. I want to get the weights for Christmas but I have no clue what size they are supposed to be. Could you let me know what size I should be looking for? Thank you!
@roncalverley4 жыл бұрын
I just weighed the pear shaped weights that go with the Zaanse clock movement I still have. They are about 1300 grams each. I did a Google search, as I'm sure you have already done, and was surprised at just how expensive they are. Try phoning around to your local clock repair shops. Good luck. 🤞
