The Lexus LS430 is one of the best Lexus sedans ever made. In my professional opinion very regularly working on these in my Toyota and Lexus speciality shop, the LS430 even surpasses the LS400 in it's quality and durability.
In this video we go more into the LS430. We talk about their common problems, Best Years to buy and models to avoid.

I own a 2005 LS430. I bought it used in 2010 and found that the owner had let the dealership maintain it. So, I have let that same dealership maintain it. Everything is on the dealership's maintenance list. It has over 230,000 miles on it. Best car I have ever owned. If anything on one side goes out, I buy the dealers replacement parts for both sides, no matter the cost. I replace the battery every two years regardless. The Air Force taught me, if you take care of something, it will take care of you. They have B52's still flying from the Vietnam era because they take care of them. I intend to keep taking care of this car, because I cannot find a replacement for it that has as much headroom, rides as quietly or feels as comfortable to ride in. One thing I love is when I pop the transmission from 6th to 4th gear and press the accelerator, this car will leave any situation in your rear view mirror. BTW the rear view mirror, does not work and was way too expensive, that is the only item I refused to change out. I can live without its night feature. I hear people say they love a car, but I always tell people this car loves me! It treats me so well. I will always let the dealerships take care of it.

Grandma had a LS430 and covered 50000 miles untill she crashed into another. The magistrate had sympathy but took her license at 96. The insurance paid out she could get another car provided she gets a driver, she took a GS300 and I drove her for 15000 miles when her ticker gave in. Thanks for the info.. The problem with the LS 430 and LS 460 is that these are cars are about 20 plus years old.. Very hard to find a good one. And time just takes a toll on even these cars.. Unless Toyota (by some miracle) decided to make these again - if they ever did, they need to make them EXACTLY the same - same dimensions, same traditional dashboard, shifter, controls.. And no turbos and don't try to make them more "sporty".. I would certainly would buy one.

I just recently bought my Lexus LS430 and I was so much better prepared because of the advice Car Care Nut has given us on this channel. A pre-purchase inspection saved me from buying problem cars, helped me negotiate a fair price on this one, and most importantly gave me peace of mind. Because of the pre-purchase inspection, I knew before purchasing that I needed to spend money on a timing belt, leaking valve cover, brakes, and the 60,000 mile maintenance items (spark plugs, fluid changes). That didn't bother me at all, I saw it as an opportunity to negotiate a better price, and to ask one of the best shops in the world to do my car's first wave of significant maintenance. So it was a pleasure this morning to see my Black Cherry Pearl Sport on stage in this video waiting for its turn at the expert and honest care offered by TCCN Automotive. I'd also like to pass on one little trick I learned. It may have been suggested in this forum before, but just in case it wasn't, if you create an account at lexus.com/My-Lexus, you can add the VIN of the Lexus you are interested in to your account and see that car's maintenance history. CARFAX didn't show maintenance records on this car, but the Lexus site had records from day one. Thanks to all who posted comments on this car, they are fun to see and informative. My wife and I hope to enjoy our Black Cherry Pearl (official color name) LS430 for years to come. (She will make us some Black Cherry Rum Zombies to sip in celebration of its homecoming.)

Added a double DIN stereo with backup camera, the Ultra Racing rear sway bar, and a few other things. It's at 110k now and it's been such a treat. These cars are just amazing once you get them on the highway and they will cruise at 100mph or more without issue.

The only thing I didn’t agree with regarding a reason to avoid the ultra luxury being the air suspension. There is no conversion kit needed to swap to the conventional shocks and springs. I’ve had a pre-facelift and a facelift where the air suspension started to go and the normal suspension bolts up without any modifications. So don’t let that part deter you.

I absolutely love the 2nd gen LS. It's definitely my favorite LS of all time. I remember building a 2006 LS online in Briarwood Pearl with the saddle interior and antique walnut trim. What a beautiful car. This was back when Toyota and Lexus actually made appealing cars and not the taxicabs they have become these days.

@@timomomomo969 they are taxicabs now. The other day I sat in a new Crown Platinum which is the replacement to the flagship Avalon (which the older ones I find as nice as some Lexus models even). And it’s a taxicab. All black interior (and its the only option it seems, pleather seats that aren’t even nice looking, but probably durable, only hybrid drivetrain now (perfect for city driving like taxicabs do) and no new car smell in it. My Cadillac XT5 has a new car smell in it but my 2016 Rav4 never did. Granted this is probably Toyota trying to use low VOC materials but come on. Not even a new car smell? Literally all of the appeal has been engineered out and in its place ideal items for a buyer base of Uber drivers and Taxi and Limousine businesses. They can’t even make their own sports cars anymore and have to turn to BMW or Subaru to make one. Its too bad. Like Regular Car Reviews said. The Japanese brands have gone from cars you desire getting to appliances that serve no other purpose. The only exception is Mazda and maybe Subaru if they ditch their stupid CVTs. You want anything remotely appealing these days you have to turn to the Koreans, Americans, or shell out money for something German.

She HATES screens and modern dash. She loves the cassette player and cd changer and other than quiet and smooth ride the best feature is super tight turning circle. I went to a dealership to check out a cheap LS430 some days ago, and one of my primary goals when I was there was to find out why it was taking them so long to sell it. You really put a whole lot into perspective there Mr. Car Care, I do like those LS sedans though. However maintaining a Toyota properly these days is not cheap either. I'll take an easy pass on that LS premium hike. Plus the premium fuel cost and mileage is more than plenty. The Toyota is perfectly fine for daily use in my book. The Black Cherry LS there could be a very nice weekend car to keep around in better times as I would have to keep it immaculate because that car deserves it.
