To make this comment I have to make a premise: I’m italian and roil is translated with “torbido”. Omnath is called “omnath, il (the) torbidolocus” the first time I saw it I read “Omnath, the TURBOlocus”. I fell in love with this card for this stupid reason. I’ve built a deck with him in Brawl on Arena, had a ton of fun and I was hoping for this video to come out. Thanks

My first ever EDH deck was Omnath, Locus of Mana. Helped a friend build Omnath Locus of Rage as their first EDH deck. Now it's time to use this budget deck to get my partner into EDH.

You should never cut sylvan awakening from Omnath, in makes the lands into elementals! One of my favourite late game plays is casting awakening followed by Omnath to just burn somebody for 30.

I really like this deck tech but I really wished it was more focused on Elemental tribal. You have a handful of deck techs already with land strategies so something different would've been nice! Still a good deck tech!

Super excited to finally see this since it's my main driver. Here's some cards I use that weren't mentioned that may be worth considering: Parallax Tide: $0.29. An enchantment for 2UU that enters the battlefield with 5 fading counters on it, and has "Remove a fade counter: exile target land" and "When Parallax Tide leaves the battlefield, each player returns to the battlefield all cards they own exiled with Parallax Tide." Effectively, you can either use this to temporarily remove a tricky non-basic land from an opponent, OR (arguably more usefully) you can use this on your own board to get 5 landfall triggers and get five basics untapped. This can generate some explosive turns for landfall effects. Board-wide haste makers can make or break a big token-generation board in my experience. Samut, Tyrant Smasher ($0.10), Temur Ascendancy ($0.84), Rhythm of the Wild ($0.75), and if budget allows Fervor ($1.56) and Anger ($1.77) can all give you a potent edge with your tokens, helping to enable a go-wide landfall turn. In the reasonable upgrade area for the deck, I nominate Ramunap Excavator ($5.05) and Crucible of Worlds ($17.62), as it will enable you to recur potent ramp lands like Myriad Landscape, Evolving Wilds and Terramorphic Expanse, etc. While a strictly lands-matter approach is definitely the best budget option for the deck, doing an Elemental Landfall theme can also yield a lot of potency, especially with the huge amount of supporting shamans available. Caterwauling Boggart ($0.22) gives all your elementals Menace, as an example. Smokebraider ($0.21) is a fantastic mana dork that costs 2 and taps for 2 as long as you're casting an elemental or activating the ability of an elemental. Creeping Trailblazer ($0.18) is an elemental lord for RG and gives you a mana outlet to pump itself equal to the number of elementals you control. With all these elementals, you'll have a lot of +1/+1 counters go to around, and Rumbling Ruin ($0.04) can take advantage of all those counters to make your entire team unblockable when it enters the battlefield, which can swiftly end games. I love Omnath he is by precious baby boy I'm looking forward to him getting his fourth color.

Glad to see Jolreal making an appearence here. I did a deck idea on her on MTGGoldfish (no specific budget), and thought she was interesting enough to warrant a deck based on her. Also, it seems Wayfarer's Bauble's price is much lower than I remember (instead of being +2.00$ it's now 1.65$). That's great to know !

Great tech, lot's of cards I haven't seen often or at all! These are my favourite budget decks, don't go for second tier to save money, rather use cards that don't seem much play!

I made mine when the Omnath came out. I like mine more because I have more answers, but I think yours would run faster. Good Job.

I Love omanath! he is a very good commander! he was also one of my first commanders ever.

I just started building an Omnath deck myself, so this is super helpful! I personally prefer to run him more on the Elemental tribal side of things. I personally like Undergrowth Champion, because it can become a huge threat and has a strong landfall trigger that synergizes well with Omnath’s trigger too. It’s even pretty affordable at less than 2 dollars. I also like to run the creature lands Wandering Fumarole, Raging Ravine, and Lumbering falls. Besides being Elementals, they still count as lands, and thus can benefit from things like Embodiment of Insight, Embodiment of Fury, and Nissa, Who Shakes the World. Anyway, thanks for the video!

Underated budget card to add. Howl of the nightpack. Maybe not the best (since 3 color deck) but Its an auto include in any green deck I make. Can swing entire games very quickly

I have this deck and I focus on getting elementals and then playing cards like "ghostly flicker" to KO with commander damage. Works really well.

This sounds like a good deck for some of the moonfolk from the kamigawa arc with the land-bounce effects.

Omnath is great! I’m able to compete in the CEDH pods at my LGS with him and the best thing is my deck only cost 160 dollars. Amazing commander

Another good addition would be Undergrowth Champion. 3 drop 2/2 and he gives himself +1/+1 counters off of Landfall and can protect himself by removing just one counter to prevent damage being dealt to him, and he's an Elemental. Nice deck tech, definitely giving this a shot with my elementals. 🤙

I'm tempted to build this and throw in a few cards that never found a fit in any other deck. Stuff like Thwart, Ovinomancer, and Overlain Terrain.

i'm thinking of building roil omnath with elementals, so when i clicked and discovered you were landfall-based, i was a little disappointed, but this still gave me some great ideas!

I built new Omnath when he was spoiled and while many focused on elemental synergy I too decided to focus on Landfall value. Tatyova is indeed a top tier card for the deck but my choice for the golden pig would have been Fertalid. With fertalid and Omnath in play you can pay 1G, remove a counter, fetch a land and then Omanth can replace the counter on fertalid. Late game this becomes 1G: instand speed rampant growth, draw a card. It's actually nuts

Eh, was hoping more for temur elementals as lands always feels weak on a budget since all the extra land drop cards are expensive and the deck feels too slow without them.

I made a locus of the roil deck and ended up taking it apart and making just a tatyova deck. I found that at the power level I wanted to play at, waiting for eight lands was hurting me. He's still super fun though, and if I had doubles of all my landfall staples I'd keep both

I made my own Omnath deck a while ago. It's an Elemental Tribal that tries to power up my creatures due to land draw and with Growth counters on Simic Ascendancy

I was hoping to see some moonfolk in the deck like Oboro Breezecaller, they do really well with the walking atlas gang, if you can untap the the atlast at landfall you can do all sort of tricks

I made an Omnath Locus Roil deck, but loaded it up with clones to clone Risen Reef. I then started decking myself (the deck "essentially" goes infinite if you have several Risen Reefs, Omnath and a permanent that makes an elemental off of Landfall triggers) so I threw in Thassa's Oracle in haha.

Mitch really just wanted to build a tatyova deck, I don't blame him shes amazing.

My friend and I have been trying to build his Omnath deck for a while now. It always seemed to fall short of actually winning, usually being able to kill one person, but having to worry about whoever is left and then dying to them, so as a result it sometimes sits there. This was a great help! I wanted to ask for opinion on Song of Creation. We keep going back and forth on it. I think it's absurdly good, but obviously it doesn't let you hold onto cards so sometimes it becomes a dud. Good or nah in this iteration? We had built something similar, probably less focused because we split into elementals as well, but are considering all options.

If you have the budget for it I would highly recommend putting in Avenger of Zendikar, he’s a great finisher and gets scary fast with your landfall triggers and your board pump spells! Nice deck tech overall though!

Quite a few similarities to the Yarok Commander build, so for someone who plays with the latter deck, it means a decent amount of interchangeability with both builds.

Hmmmmm might take this deck shell but swap out Omnath for Golos. Then I can have more bounce lands for the combo and can open up to other color splashes if I chose. Thanks Mitch!

Dang - no tcgplayer direct atm, so that order was from 19 different stores. Maybe this ones price will stay about the same, once direct is back online and prices gradually go up

I’d love to see a tetzimoc, primal death budget deck. I know it seems weird since it wants to be in your hand, but I think you could find some stuff for it haha. And the new nether altar thing could be a nice “upgrades” card

I had a lot of fun building my Omnath deck, and it is still one of my favorites that I upgrade every now and then, I chose to focus on both landfall and elementals :P Also got all Omnaths in it 'cause they are cool and fits nicely hehehe I kinda hope they will release a 4-color or 5-color version so I can have more fun with it :P

Loved the video but I wished you would have went in the elemental direction instead of the land one. I feel like Tatyova is a lot stronger as this deck's commander specially since there's only a handful of red cards, half of them being relatively weak(but I could be underestimating the pingers, specially if you chain bounce lands but that's a four cards combo). In my opinion, he's the best commander for a Temur elemental deck so I would have liked his uniqueness to be highlighted. That being said, you are the one making the list and I trust your judgment. Keep up the good work!

Because honestly this deck looks like it would be absolutely absurd if you ran locus of rage as your commander. Since ramp seems to make players instant target, I think the M21 reprint of Heroic Intervention deserves a second look for this deck. Its saved my Omnath board more than a few times already
