In this video, we will be be discussing the BOND ARMS CYCLOPS 45-70. These are definitely more of a novelty and for fun. While I do respect your opinion on guns needing to make sense, Id say it wouldn't hurt to have a couple whatever guns in the collection just to appease that kid in us all. Interesting choice as a boot gun too 😂. Happy shooting, check out the .50 ae cyclops!

I do like this gun…. Now having disability issues the rowdy xl is a better option with 2 rounds to shoot…. But a dam nice gun for one’s collection!

This strikes me as one of those guns a person puts in his collection as a conversation starter. It would probably go "Hey guess what I bought. Do you want to shoot it? It's going to kick hard. Let's see if you can handle the recoil." or something along those lines. Would it stop a human threat? If there's just one guy then yes, if he's hit, it will stop him in his tracks no doubt about it. But what would follow, as you pointed out, would be the questions about caliber choice for self defense. Would it stop a large animal threat? I don't know but I'm not sure I would want to rely on only one shot to take down something that's trying to eat or maul me.

Always thought Bond Arms were interesting and they have a very good reputation. But for the price I always found a semi-auto or revolver that was more appealing. Just not very practical but a good range gun for fun. But 45-70? No way.

This is a firearm that should not be dry fired. This is stated by the manufacturer. I know you might not have the box or paperwork that came with it so I just wanted to make sure you were aware that the manufacturer stated not to dry fire this gun.

To me this is just a “FUN GUN” just for kicks and giggles, and I believe they are developing a S&W 500, and a 460 magnum barrel aswell

I know the focus of this channel is concealed carry for defense against bad guys, so from this context, this is not a good fit. However, there are far more applications than just "carry gun" vs "range toy". As a backup to a big bore revolver for bear defense makes a whole lot more sense. If I recall, American Derringer made the original .45-70 single shot pistol for use in places like Alaska, but the quality wasn't there and was never popular, so people have been asking Bond Arms to make one as an alternative for years and they finally just kind of gave in. I think Bond Arms realized that just as a bear gun, they would never get enough sales to recoup their costs, but if they could market it as a meme gun and market it towards recoil tough guys, they would do a lot better, which is exactly what they have done.

I had one of these for about 2 hours. My wife cannot even pull the trigger on it. When I try to have to put two fingers on a trigger and squeeze and squeeze and squeeze. I cannot get this gun back to the store fast enough. When the sporting store that I bought it from tried to trigger they couldn't get it back to the company fast enough. They did not replace this weapon in the store. They said that's the last one they will ever order. It was a piece of s...!!

A real piece of junk. Don't ever buy one. I had one for two wires that was enough for me. I couldn't get back to the store to return it fast enough..

My question as a hunter when you shoot an animal you don't feel recoil if your using this In Self defense situation are you gonna feel the recoil with that adrenaline rush?
