This show is basically Josh and Dulcé questioning their friendship weekly😂😂😂 I don't really eat typical breakfast foods unless I have to go out for breakfast with someone, but I have a very slight preference for waffles over pancakes.

I can't believe they didn't hit the fact that waffles are just more bougie, needing their own specialized iron just to make them, while pancakes are the every-man "breakfast bread" (Dulce 😂) since they just require a pan. These people are not making their own breakfasts at home (and storing a waffle iron in their NYC apartments) That isn't to say one is better based on that factor, but you know Josh would stand with the proletariat while Dulce argues for going all out on the indulgence

Pancakes are flipping delicious!!! As a previous waitress, I've seen it all done with what Sloan has said! Ham and cheese pancake... Blueberry and cream cheese pancake... And they were ALL DELICIOUS!!!! I've even taken left over rotisserie chicken shredded with some cheddar and put it in a pancake... Delicious with some hot sauce. I'm pancake all the way!!!

I would love to see the two of you try out Dutch pancakes. They don't have to be sweet. They're much larger than American pancakes, and you can roll them up before you eat them. Please come to The Netherlands to try them out.

I have to go with Dulce here, just because I have never had a satisfying pancake outside of what my dad would make. Waffles are way easier to make acceptablely.

Agreed. My dad made delicious crispy pancakes cooked all the way through and not fluffy at all, and restaurants never do that. I need that crispiness, which waffles always deliver. :)

I feel like josh would change his tune if he had real waffles. The ones that have the sugar caramelized on the outside and are super crispy and just delicious. Also, how did crepes never come up? Josh missed out on the savory pancakes point

@@kendallstark4302 A crepe is somewhat similar, but definitely different. A crepe doesn't have the raising agent that a pancake has. But a waffle is only barely different in that it has one egg and is cooked differently. My point is, there are just enough differences between the 3 to make them each their own thing. And crepe wasn't part of this comparison in the video.

The McGriddle proved Dulcé Sloan's point though. It is RUBBERY. The only way to use pancakes as a breakfast sandwich bread is to up the flour to make it more sturdy, which makes it rubbery. *Waffles are just like Black Women, strong, sweet and delicious As Is!* 🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾

I love waffles and I love pancakes. I agree that waffles are more versatile. I do low carb and there are a billion things you can do with a chaffle (waffle made with mild mozzarella cheese in the batter.)

I'm 26 yrs old and I have never eaten a single waffle my entire life, I've been eating pancakes/flapjacks my entire life... With that being said, I'm willing to bet that "Waffles" are better than "Pancakes"😂

Depends. Waffles (done right) are crispy, and the butter and honey or syrup pool in the holes. Pancakes (done right) are fluffy, maybe have a crispy edge. No special equipment required for pancakes. I never bother with frozen waffles. I would only order one in a restaurant

I do have to counter Dulcé on the point about saying pancakes can only be sweet. In many other countries, pancakes are ONLY a savory thing. I dated someone that was Russian and he had never had a sweet pancake and thought it was ridiculous to eat it any other way than savory.

I love them equally. I find out when breakfast begins at a hotel, and I'm one of the first ones there. I put heavier things in waffles, because I think it can hold up.

I like the loaded waffle, with alot of butter crispy edges, scrambled eggs, ham, bacon, sausage,tomato slice and sweet apricot jelly. Pancake stack Mrs. BUTTERWORTH syrup, scrambled eggs, hashed Browns w/ cheese and caramelized onions, Steak. Only a Foodie would understand.

I don't have a preference. However I always pour the syrup after I cut my waffles, pancakes, and French toast. I don't like getting syrup on my knife, because then it gets on the table when you put it down (unless you want to lick the knife, wipe it, or just put it in the sink).

Pancakes are faster to mix and make. My 8 year old granddaughter makes them from scratch all by herself. Waffles have more eggs, which must be separated and the whites whipped into merringue before being incorporated into the yolks, milk and flour. Pancake batter does not make proper waffles.

This silly argument has brought up deep emotions and memories for me. At Mayberry Mill on the Blue Ridge Parkway in Va 50 years ago I had 2 huge corn pancakes with pork BBQ between them. Of course I drowned them in maple syrup and I'd go into a diabetic coma eating like that today. Next time I make cornbread I'll see if I can make cornbread pancakes and also try in my waffle iron. I love both.

When I was a kid my mom tried to convince me pancakes were healthier than waffles so she never had to make me waffles. I knew that was bs because it's the same batter in a different form. Now that I'm a grown up and I can make waffles if I want I make pancakes because I don't want to have to clean the waffle maker. Also in Josh's defense about pancakes as a breakfast sandwich- McDonald's McGriddle is fantastic, and also they don't make a McWaffle sandwich.

But to be honest, pancakes are easier to make at home and I really don’t have the space for a waffle maker. I love the crisp of a waffle. I hate frozen waffles. But if I had to choose at a restaurant, it’d be waffles.

Honestly... I'm really more of a French Toast guy, but Waffles over pancakes for sure. Also, Waffle Iron can be used to make a ton of other things (Paninis, brownies, hashbrowns, Omelets etc) The Pancake conveyor belt is just gonna make pancakes... Also... I'm with Eleven on this one; Eggo waffles for the win! Pop them in a toaster for a minute or two, pop 'em up, drizzle with butter and maple syrup, and you're done. I don't bother with making either kind from scratch, and I don't like any version of pancakes or waffles from any restaurant I've ever been to. I still watched this whole video just to listen to their debate points. Too funny! :)

I'd note that pancakes made outside the US are usually savory and not breakfast food. In Asia pancakes are street food or appetizers, like Korean pajeon, with a lighter batter incorporating potatoes and green onions that isn't sweet. Pajeon is often mixed with other savory ingredients, like kimchi or the well-known seafood pajeon that's popular in NA Korean restaurants. The condiments are savory, too, like a soy and vinegar dip. Here in Edmonton, Canada, Chinese green onion pancakes are considered one of the local specialties, and you'll find them on many of the Asian restaurant menus, sometimes with a sweet & sour dipping sauce. The batter is very light, so it comes out more as a finger-food bread than the heavier flapjack you think of as a pancake for breakfast.

I LIVE for these each week yall! only waffles I've ever had that weren't Dry AF were from waffle house. If I'm not at a waffle house, I ain't eating no waffles. Waffles can kick rocks. Pancakes all day, HOWEVER! ... pancakes require a perfect ratio of egg to batter to make them cakey. If my pancakes aren't cakey, they ain't right.
