I had severe depression (out of 1-10, a 50) and went to a Chinese doctor with zero bedside manners who asked me about my diet and quickly prescribed antibiotics. I took them and within three days was completely cured of severe depression and have never had it since. She told me that I had bad gut bacteria that needed to be killed. She also told me I had a sinus infection that I wasn't even aware of. She diagnosed it by jamming her fingers onto my sinuses. She accidentally poked my eyeball. Oh well, I'm 100% depression-free. One sore eyeball but at least the medicine was free.

Your problem, tho, is that big pharma antibiotics you took also killed all your good bacteria along with the bad. It's like a military assault called scorched earth where everything, men, women, and children are all destroyed to accomplish the goal. They killed all your bacteria, bad AND good, not just the bad ones. You should have found someone who knows natural healing such as a naturopath who knows natural methods to deal with it correctly so that your good bacteria can still be alive and caring for you.

I am very excited for the upcoming years in this area of research. Suffered from ulcerative colitis and celiac diseace for a long time. At one point i was getting worse and worse with my uc and no medicin worked, i started developing severe symtoms 100% of the time from sertain foods and i could almost eat nothing before i had my large intestine removed and had a ileostomy operation. And god was that amazing, i gained 20kg and had energi again!! Could eat everything except gluten, i really am a true gluten-intollerant person still but, wow. After that i started ssri for depression, and i actually think the "removing of part of my assembley line" have something to do with it. Low seritonin levels from the gut to the brain... Find this really interesting and look forward to learning more about it 🙏🙏

I don’t have gut issues and I ve had depression and anxiety for almost 20 years. So “always”, isn’t necessarily true. I agree that gut health is vitally important to overall health and may have a particularly important impact on mental health, but I disagree with the first comment that every person with anxiety and depression will have a gut issue. I don’t say this to be a contrarian, but because I have been fighting this battle while it destroys my life for the last 6 years. I am a combat veteran, 2006 & 2008. I left it untreated for 14 years and it tore my family apart. I got healthy, nutrition on point, fitness on point, still hit by panic attacks, avoidance, isolation, suicidal ideations, etc etc. Meds don’t help, healthy lifestyle doesn’t help, can’t keep a “normal” job, cannot keep a relationship. Cannot get the VA to take it more seriously. I am slowly dying inside because nothing works and no one cares.

I want to, sincerely, thank you for your service to this country. You are going to think this advice is "strange", but it's something anyone can try/trial for at least 3 days to see the impact. I realize you mentioned no gut issues. I have heard multiple positive stories for improving PTSD, anxiety, depression and much more via the carnivore way of eating. It's actually very easy because no other meal-prep. Beef is the best tolerated. Hamburgers, roasts, steaks, all-beef hot dogs. Butter, salt. Can add bacon, eggs and other meats... but always start with beef because it it the best tolerated by most people. Please check out videos for carnivore and read some of the comments from people. I am in two Facebook carnivore groups and so many people have shared positive mental health results that they were not expecting. Some of these people switched to carnivore for another health reason and were amazed at how much better they felt. Others found carnivore for their mental health issues and with wonderful results. It is the ultimate elimination diet and does not have to be permanent. I fell off of this way of eating a few months ago, but I am going back for more physical healing. I don't have anxiety or depression, but my overall mood is so much better--probably because no inflammation. The inflammation from foods does not have to center in your gut. Inflammation can be the cause of anxiety or depression for MANY people. Even just trialing this for 3 days to see how you feel, will tell something. One woman in the carnivore group stopped HWC (heavy whipping cream) in her coffee to see if it would help reduce arthritic symptoms. She had been, otherwise, dairy free on the carnivore (some people "can" do dairy... many can't). Within one day, she shared that her life-long anxiety resolved! I never forgot that story because it seems like such a small amount of dairy, but it was life-changing for her. I share all of this because I want you to feel better. I am a retired VA nurse. I appreciate your service and feel for your suffering. After switching to carnivore, some people are able to take magnesium supplements (I like glycinate the best), which can also be a game-changer for anxiety, depression and panic. My grocery bill is much less on carnivore, as well. You wouldn't think that, but it's true. Dr. Ken Berry is a good MD to watch about carnivore. I encourage you to watch just 1 or 2 videos by him. He is actually fun to listen to.

What a great guy. The mental health discourse - and funding landscape - has been captured and funnelled towards nonsense for decades. Its amazing to see things beginning to change. Methylation.... hmm yes I remember the methylation cycle...starting with folic acid and b6/b12... but some gene types (MTHFR) cant methylate folic acid well so need to start with methylfolate - or eat their body weight in spinach. This has been known for awhile but was driven underground because of its implications.

question. i have had allergies but it was my skin that reacted. when i was young cow milk made my skin fall off in the soft spots. like arm pit. inside elbow inside knee. when i was a chef. no problems whatsoever with cowsmilk. touching salmon however itching and rash on the spot within minutes as a child no problem with pines and conifers. once i removed about 20 when i was 15. rash red eyes sore throat. at this moment cherries apples wallnuts. i can touch them but when in eat them it itches. i seem to have allergies rolling in and out every 5 to 10 years this is just an allergy question and has little to do with the rest of the clip. but the acuteness of my symptoms makes it all pretty obvious what is happening. and getting over it is always fun. because i can eat or touch said stuff again. any thoughts?

Get the book the ultramind solution by Dr. Mark Hamil. I used to think the same thing. Gluten causes an effect in some people that is almost like a psychedelic. It makes people have anxiety. Not saying it's your problem but it could be. Gluten is in everything now. Your gut micro biome is important. If you're eating something that inflamed your gut then it sends the wrong signals to your brain and potentially inflames the brain as well.

The thing is that the food you eat and your gut health can determine how your body/nervous systems react to external stimulation/stress.

I had anxiety that led to panic attacks bad enough to twice see me sent to the emergency room. I got my gut health in shape over the past couple of years and can say it’s been the most surprisingly and gratefully easy fix.

I had insane anxiety too....medicated as well. Fixed my health, my food I ate, picked up new habits and rediscovered old interests, got my life in check started training. Boosted my confidence and my anxiety it's just like a flutter and I can catch it now listen to what it tells me which is usually me having something to do. It's fixable...it's all a chain reaction of things you make better that add up. Food is definitely a big one that helps

try yoga nidra in the evenings and try transcendental meditation before going to bed yoga nidra is a guided meditation and you can find them on youtube for free, try doing 30 mins a day transcendental meditation is where you choose a mantra such as ohm or shiva and repeat it, it can be anything but it shouldn't have any meaning to you and you repeat it in your head for 20 minutes. if your focus drifts bring it back to the mantra. do this after you wake up and before you go to sleep in regards to the digestive system, eat sauerkraut and also only eat once a day at the same time each time therefore you're eating food with a 24 hour fsating interval

My wife is 53 yrs old and has been a vegetarian since she was 12. In the last few years she can hardly eat anything. A slice of non-gluten free bread mistakenly served in a restaurant sent her into anaphylactic shock and she was rushed into hospital where they said it was a close call. We really struggle now for her to eat safely. How do we approach things to help her lead a normal life?

Fermented millets. I had similar issues. Something has happened to her gut flora in combination with some stressful event/nutritional deficiency. Its multiple factors I think. Focus on eating fermented foods - for me fermented millets helped. The other fermented foods not much. Avoid coffee, processed grains/yeasty foods and sugary foods for now

Isn’t there a contradiction in what he says? In the first part he is alluding to gut motility and then in the second part to affect of the mind over the body, with without any reference or explanation as to how he thinks they interact. If the mind is involved can’t we just train the mind to resolve the issues without the requirement for a test?

Magnesium and vit c have helped my motility because opiates opioids have me constantly constipated. If I stay hydrated and take good supplements and eat regularly it is ok. But if I don't eat well don't drink water and take no Magnesium I get so constipated I eventually have to use hydrotherapy to get it out. Not good not nice. Because when my gut is happy I am happy. When I'm constipated I am constipated. Feel like shit cus I'm full of shit.
