Coastal Foraging along the low tide line can uncover so many incredible things. Amazing sea creatures and delicious treats. Join me on the shoreline where I teach about collecting many different delicious clams and shellfish. At this time of year the weather can be very wet and wild but I don't let that stop us. We find some shelter for a wonderful father and son cookup on the shore.

@TheFishLocker Yes, it is. My Daddy had 3 daughters, and my favorite memories of him are sitting in his workshop with him, watching him building cabinets. To this day, I still venture in to Lowe's or Home Depot just to smell the sawdust. Daddies passed in March of 2020. He was 97.

Hahaha, 10 mins into the video I just realised I've been sitting up straight and tilting my head down as you look towards your feet searching for shells and avoiding sponges. I've instinctively lowered my head while my eyes are up top watching the video. This is why I love your content, it genuinely feels like you are there to the extent subconscious behaviour manifests.

@@TheFishLockerin the early 90's while camping around the N. Irish coast my mum did exactly what you do with James. That feeling of being there with you brings back all those memories such that I almost feel like a kid back with me ma. I remember her telling me that her uncle would kick limpets off and eat them then and there, she described them as horrifically rubbery and a childhood experience she'd like to forget. As a result I've never eaten limpet raw or cooked, my mum's disgust put me off permanently. Have you eaten them raw or cooked? I'd be interested of your experience since the one thing you can always be certain of when coastal foraging is limpets will be everywhere.

Sir, I take my hat off to you. You produce the most wholesome content I've seen on KZfaq. Every day is a lesson in ecology and parenting done well. I thought I knew a bit about marine life but I make a point of memorising one new species that you introduce us to each time I watch.
