Tried so many headphones recently including all the flagships and this is my favourite. Love the momentum 4’s. Call quality and NC is great but the sound quality is simply stunning.

@@samerrasheed i faced a major problem with the first pair that I purchased and had to resort to getting them exchanged. Thankfully the second pair is working ok so far. The app is quite glitchy and does need some improvement but all is made up for with the superior sound quality. It sounds delightful- really can’t fault the sound quality. Hope this helps.

I bought these about a year ago. I have so many headphones and decided these were the ones to return. I realized it was a mistake. As, I was missing them so much since that stupid decision to return them. So, I got them again. They are truly my favorite headphones. Back to enjoying what I have been missing. I own pxc 550-ii and trying to figure if it’s worth the upgrade to these ? I think I have relatively large ears and pxc’s fit is great , wondering if it will be same on these too ? I ditch Sony’s 1000-xm5.

can you use it as 'stand-alone' device? that is, just 'enjoy the noise cancellation' without connecting it to any bluetooth device? or does it turn off automatically if it's not receiving any music?

Thanks for the review! I just wanted to ask you a question. I bought Momentum 4 and used it for 2 days. I noticed that when I turn my head around, I can hear a plastic click inside the earcups, both left and right. I come from Momentum 3 that was in steel, no plastic at all. Do you feel the same? Try it with no sound, just wear it and turn your head around. I don’t know if it’s my product that is defected, but if it’s a common issue, I think I’ll return it to Sennheiser. Please let me know, thanks!

I do not hear any un-wanted noises as you're describing while moving my head with the headphones on. I would definitely reach out to Sennheiser and see about a replacement!

Do they leak a lot of noise at higher volumes when u have them on? I heard that was an issue with the momentum 3s and I don't wanna disturb others while listening

No leak at all according to my wife. Listening to music at 75% volume constantly with her 1 foot away. No issues

Did you use these with your desktop computer or just on mobile devices like your phone? I bought these almost exclusively for my computer but I'm worried I don't have the codec support innately built into windows 10 like my android device does.

I just got them today for $299 ($50 off this Thanksgiving weekend). I had a $55 gift card from trading in my XM3 and XM4 from previous years. So, paying like $270 with taxes seems like a good investment. I absolutely love the sound staging of Sennheiser over Sony's. This is purely my listening preference. Only thing is it looks massive on my head .I definitely have a smaller head 😀

If you plan to use it for online gaming its probably better to get a cheaper gaming headset. I have read that when u use the Sennheiser Momentum 4 mic for online play it will switch to telephone mode or something and the sound quality will drop.

i wanted a new pair of headphones for the frequent flying i do for my job, i tried all of the headphones at the shop and liked the feel, sound quality and noise cancelling of these, i spent more than i anticipated but are more than happy. the only problem i have had is occasional pairing issues bluetoothwise , i have had to unpair and go through the process of pairing many times although this may be a user caused issue im not sure, the battery life is awesome and it gives you warnings of battery life so you can top it up to keep listening . would i recommend to other people , yes , any regrets no other than the pairing issues its perfect.

i been using m3 for 2 years and i just bought m4 yesterday, trying them today. i have to say i feel a big improvement in ANC, bass and i feel more definition, (i use to listen techno music)

@@VicariousNick55 they are very good. I have had AirPods Max before and as good as they are I just found them too heavy and had to charge battery almost daily. Sadly I have updated my iPhone to beta iOS 16 and equaliser stopped working on sennheiser but I’m sure they will update the app soon :)

i'll wait for another future redesign coz these M4s push too much on my head. felt like a torture device. the music quality was superb. but i returned them for the XM4s which are so comfortable on my head. i also have the seinnheiser WMT2 buds which are still amazing. and the apple power beats pro for exercising.

@@nahpimpin398 Not an L for me. The M4s weren't comfortable on my head. I prioritize comfort over music quality. And the MX5 was indeed lighter but not as perfectly fit for my head/ears. I tried all 3 and chose the right one for me. No regrets.

Torture device? Really? You need to toughen up. I had an XM5 and have moved on to Momentum 4s. The difference is minimal in terms of comfort Not better or worse, just different. And the Sonys break easy at the cup stems.

@@eddiek8179 I stand by my words. The area around my ears were in a lot of pain after like 10 mins of wearing M4s. It was that bad I took them back next day. Everyone has their own experience and that's mine.

The "adapter" seen at 5:36 for stereo out for devices which have not stereo out. As you know some old devices used to give the sound as right and left mono channels seperately and independently from each other, (I don't mention the rca outs) maybe, that's why, a place is given in the box for this "mono to stereo adapter". As seen, they want their customers to may use their devices with any kind of hifi complements altough they are very old. Specially sound cables are used even in these days to get clear sound fluence, because of according to most of music producers, bluetooth connection quality seems not enough at giving the all kind of sound quality still.

I had to tweak the EQ settings to the pre-installed "pop" setting and it excelled with the bass response with both artists. These headphones can easily handle Low-fi, EDM, R&B, and really any other bass-heavy genre without a hitch

I just got these today . Paid extra shipping to get here asap. Was excited to try out, here is my SHORT and HONEST opinion: I own the Sony xm5 , but heard amazing things about this momentum 4 , even heard in other reviews that it beats sonys xm5 sound quality. I'm a music guy that's my basic use out of any headphones. When I compared both of these beasts. I found myself still giving my sonys xm5 the upper hand. They just have a clearer and more assertive sound to them like if it has a backbone lol. These momentum 4 , is great quality too but just fall short is more airy but not as good airy as per say the airpods max by apple. I would give them ( momentum 4) the upper hand in bass 🔊, its very good , however here is the thing I can also eq my sonys to have amazing bass. So done that was the ultimate deciding factor on why I'm returning my momentum 4. I just don't need them. Final toughts: Ranking - 1. Sonyxm5 2. Apple airpods max 3. Momentum 4 All around best headphones Ranking.

Yes. I feel the sennheiser has more immersive overall sound, but I do like the vocals on the xm5 more. The momentum 4’s vocal is clear crisp but I feel it is kind of suppressed by all various instruments, here is my subjective feeling: if you want clearer and better instruments separation, go with the momentum 4, but if you want louder and richer vocal, go with the xm5. Both of these two headphones have very good sound though!

I have the 3 series & happy with those the sound is great & the controls & features apart from the headband that leaves ridged dents on my shaven head. I need a good reason to update to the 4 series & to be honest the styling looks like a £30 pair from the local supermarket. Soundwise why is it necessary to upgrade to the 4 is what I need to know, apart from the dents on my bald 👨‍🦲 head.

Design will always be subjective. Personally I feel the design of the Momentum 3 were very ugly and amateurish while the 4's feel and look much more premium and "sophisticated" in my opinion. Obviously someone might think the opposite and that's okay! In person I will say they look better and feel VERY premium than what you see on camera. The main features you're going to get with the 4's is the much improved ANC/transparency modes, MUCH better battery life, and better mics for phone calls. Sound signature is about the same.

I'm a big Sennheiser fan owning the M2, M3 and M4 wireless, plus the Sony WH1000-XM3. I'm very disappointed with the new M4 wireless. I have found only 2 positive things with then, I like the vocals better than on the M3 and the battery life of course. Other than that the headphones are worth no more than 80 bucks imo. The ANC is bad. It was bad on the M3 and it is bad on the M4. Mediocre at best. I tend to believe all the reviewers who put them at or near the top with Sony or Bose are paid by Sennheiser. They're way behind the XM3. The sound is good but I expected better from Sennheiser. They're probably on par with the Sonys. The bass is too emphasized imo. Overall I like the sound signature better from the M3. I find them more exciting to listen to. The comfort level is another thing which I don't agree with most reviews. I don't find them more comfortable than the M3 and way less so than the XM3. The sound also goes distant as soon as you put slight pressure on the outer side of the phones and then release pressure. Very annoying. The worst part of the phones is build quality. I have never had a new pair of headphones that creak like that with every even the slightest of head movement. One hinge on each side of the phones aren't fixed fully and have too much free play. Imo they are extremely overrated and not Sennheiser worthy.

It's a glitch with the app, the first time I tried messing with the eq settings nothing was changing. Killed the app and re opened it, messed with the settings again and it worked without issue!

@@VicariousNick55 I get it's to cut weight and material costs.... Which hardly makes a different in their pricing. I'm guessing the weight isn't a night and day difference because this is probably holding a beefy Lithium Polymer battery. Even Sony has better build quality and more sturdy materials used. I wish I could combine Sennheisers audio quality and Beyerdynamics build quality somehow.
