Scumbag Labs: our all new automotive experiment show! We do all the dangerous/weird things you may or may not have thought about trying in cars, so that you don't have to. In this episode, we see if soaking tires in bleach leads to bigger burnouts.
Don't try this at home though. Seriously.

Bf Goodrich radial T/A makes some loud Smokey burnouts. They don’t leave good marks on the pavement tho, it’s just dust and it blows away. But man they are great for doughneeZ. No traction, lots of noise and they last for a really long time under abuse. I think they might be worth it for the rear tires at least for yall

I've always wanted to know if the old "egg in the radiator" thing would actually work. I've heard conflicting reports. That one would be interesting to test.

Skiliner could you elaborate for the poeple like me that don't know
@jasperfk
@jasperfk 6 жыл бұрын
Gabrial Milligan the theory is: if you have a leaking radiator then you can put in a raw egg, or a chunk of potato, and then as the hot water moves around the radiator then the foodstuff will eventually ‘find’ the hole while cooking and plug the hole.
@SkilinerGaming
@SkilinerGaming 6 жыл бұрын
Supposedly, if there's a puncture in your radiator, you could crack an uncooked egg in there, and the egg would cook and seal the hole, thus acting as a temporary fix until you can get to a shop to get a new radiator. Stories range from people saying "That's what saved my life in the desert!" to "I tried it and it ruined my car" and "It did literally nothing". It's one of those things that really, really needs a solid consensus, and some definitive evidence behind it. It might have to do with certain radiators or something as well, so I'd love to see it compared between like a much older car, and a newer radiator, in case there's some sort of a difference somehow. One would assume older vehicles would be able to deal with weird fixes like this more easily, but who knows.
@bernardo1531
@bernardo1531 6 жыл бұрын
it only works on old heavy metal radiators. otherwise is won't solidify ( cook ) also bad idea, I did it on a 76 maverick and it worked and my mechanic told me it can clog your heater core.

Never heard of "Bleaching tyres" before, But back in the day we used to coat tyres with a liberal dose of hairspray. It would soften cheaper tyres to get a bit more grip (At the expense of SEVERELY shortening their life). You've got to let the solvents flash off before using them though, That sh1t's flamable as feck !!! I've heard that it's a trick that got done to death on some of the lower end racing classes that specifies a control tyre that everyone needed to use. We did it to help limit wheelspin, But I'm guessing that softer rubber probabbly means more tyre smoke while doing a burn out.

I used to work at an auto parts store, and a guy came in with a freshly restored 1969 Chevelle. He bought a windshield washer tank, pump, nozzles, and hose. He said he was going to mount the tank in the trunk to put bleach in and route the the hose and nozzles to the inside of the wheel wells so he could spray bleach on his tires at the push of a button. He came in several times after that and said it worked, but I never got to see it.

Edward McMillan rip motor. Like really rip. Most motors are less limited by fuel than they are air. So if you spat fuel in the intake then theoretically you'll be increasing fuel input but reducing air. So basically you'd probably just run rich.

Liam Casey pretty much no motors are fuel limited... thats why they adjust fuel input not air input based on the environment, that being said it would just run rich because the engine doesnt detect fuel in the intake so it would still put in the normal amount of fuel

However, if you are in a fuel deficient apocalypse you would probably run lean in which case a Chase could ensue and (As carbureted engines can't change like a VVT system would) the additional fuel in a emergency would be validated.

Back in my dirt track days, we would soak the tread only in brake fluid. we would put those tires on in the feature when the track was dry slick. The tire would be very soft and sticky until it wore through the rubber that was softened from the brake fluid. Usually was long enough to get in the front and stay there. all the soft rubber would be gone so it would pass a protest. Never done burnouts with them but it might make more smoke.

Future episode ideas; On our farm we used to put water in the tractor tires for weight. good or bad for burnouts?. You can also fill tires with liquid rubber to make them solid.

Those science glasses are actually heatwave visual sunglasses that are also osha approved. Still rock out the classic designs in a custom configuration or a classic clear style as shown. Best sunglass company there is. You should collaborate with them and get their miller light nascar in the yard....
