I'm really grateful you said in both videos that your mother is an organised person although her pantry was a mess. I am too, super organised, and that's a big part of my identity but since December I've been pregnant with a lot of rough symptoms, and my home has gone from meticulous to messy! I just can't seem to keep up because I truly need a lot of rest. Hearing that there are other organised people with messy houses makes me feel a bit better about myself. It gives me hope that I'll get back on my feet as soon as I feel better. I'll start off with a declutter for sure...

The time crunch only gets worse when the baby comes! They don't sleep. Dawn has said before that organized people with too much inventory call themselves "lazy" when they see the mess build up. How would this is just a syptom of too much. Consider that you may need to downsize and simplify. Mom of a newborn doesn't ha e any more time to clean and organize than pregnant. And when baby naps, so should you! Because you'll have to be awake when baby is awake.
@rosepistilli223

Oh man I just went through something very similar!! I just had my baby but I remember saying first trimester that I could do 10% of what I used to (and we're talking basic stuff like making meals, doing a few dishes, taking care of my other kids...). I had done a lot of decluttering but switched to paper plates for a time because I just needed that much rest. I had my mom come and help with dishes and clean my disgusting bathroom while I literally sat there because I just needed that much rest. Don't forget that you're doing a lot- you're growing a whole human!!!!!❤️❤️❤️ And this season won't last forever- get your rest and give yourself grace- you are doing something wonderful❤️

My husband told me about that Matthew West song and I love it! It’s a shame how people are treating him regarding it. It isn’t a song to put women down and say they are responsible for whatever happens to them but it’s a funny way for a parent to remind their daughter their value isn’t in showing off their body but in who they are. What parent would tell their daughter to wear the shortest dress or lowest cut shirt anyways? Sorry for the rant 😆 But it is a great funny song 😁 “What the boys really love is a turtleneck and a sensible pair of slacks”. love this line, such a funny song😂

I come from a very conservative background and the church is under attack for anything it says or if the people have an opinion. I stopped the video to look up the song and the backlash- wow. Ouch, also some people do need to lighten up but I could also see the harm how some people did take it out of context. My Dad, was never the one to put the rules down on dressing for me it was my Mom. She taught me to be a lady from the inside out. She would say, “someone can strip you of everything but they cannot take what’s inside your head, heart and soul. God is with you, always and his love reaches the darkest corners of the earth to find you if you ever walk away.” My father would teach us, “Always speak the truth in love whether it’s about your friend stealing an eraser or you’re (politely) informing someone you dislike their homemade dish (if asked).” Essentially, with Gods love the heart can relay the message of kindness from the hard matters of life to the easier stuff. Yes, we all do have opinions. We all come from different backgrounds. It’s what makes us individuals with free choice given to us at birth. Thank you for the uplifting word and for standing for truth even when it isn’t popular. Also, again Thanks to the Farmhouse Mama of you ladies for sharing her progress! 🥳💖 Blessings to your week!!

Telling someone that you will be praying for them means telling them that they are worthy. We are all worthy equally Worthy. If they perceive that you are thinking they are a problem you cannot be responsible for how they feel. If they think that they are a problem when you tell them that you will pray for them, they need to know that they are not a problem, that they are worthy and loved It's the sin that is the problem, not the person. 🥰

Hey Dawn! I love these spiritual Sunday videos :) I thought I'd share a perspective I was recently exposed to about the phrase "modest is hottest" that you might find interesting. When many people say modest is hottest, what they mean is that you don't need to conform to societal norms to be beautiful or desirable. I think we are on the same page here, I love that sentiment! A deeper level of this that was exposed to, is that the phrase is still promoting the fundamental ideology that your body's purpose is to be desirable to others. I know this isn't usually the intent of the phrase, but I was enlightened by that perspective and thought you might be as well :)

I agree on modesty. And non- flashy clothes. And I’m not religious at all so it’s not a part of my religion or my culture or anything. And it doesn’t have to do with men at all - their feelings are their responsibility. I just don’t want to be thinking about people’s reaction to how I look as I’m going about my average day.
@jeanettehansen4852

I used to think this way, too. The problem with it is that you can't control what other people wear or don't wear. To make your thoughts and actions be about another person is avoiding personal responsibility. Modesty needs to be in your own mind and actions; not in what other people are wearing/doing.

@@jeanettehansen4852 Exactly!! If you want to dress in ways that follow your personal interpretation and standard of modesty, by all means knock yourself out! I'm here for it! The problem comes when we enforce our subjective standards of modesty on others in a way that implies it's objectively the only acceptable way and worse, lay judgement (or even harassment 😬) on those who choose to express themselves otherwise. I love how you said we need to be responsible for our own thoughts and actions. So much focus is on what people (especially women) wear because people who are attracted to them would rather blame them instead of taking responsibility for their own thoughts and actions. I'm on a diet for myself but i'm not out here trying to get sugary sweets banned because they tempt me and i'm too weak to resist. That's MY problem! lol

@@calliemyersbuchanan6458 That's a great analogy between tempting treats and and immodest clothing! For myself, I dress in what I think would be considered modest by most people. If I try to force my choice on others, I could get so caught up in what they're wearing, that I neglect the person inside those clothes. A friend of mine has a saying in their family to "love first", meaning that if you judge people, you don't have time to love them. I think that's true.

I had no choice but to make a mess when I was cleaning out my backroom which is my laundry room and pantry. But I didn't give up and got rid of so much stuff and even got rid of the cheap Sauder pantry and put up nice metal shelves to hold my stuff. It looks so much better and now I can actually see what I have and don't have!

I disagree with quite a lot of some of my friends. However, I still value them as a person and my friend. I wish this were more prevalent today! Maybe I need to begin praying for that!! God works, God moves, God does!!! 👍💕 Thx, ladies!!! Love you both!!

Seriously. Thinking of my belongings as inventory has completely changed my outlook on my entire house. It was my “aha moment” to start my decluttering journey. I’m only a few months in. I actually took off this week in the hopes of getting a massive decluttering done all at once so I can give myself at least a small “sanctuary” away from the clutter for my birthday this week. Thank you for flipping the light switch on for me and wish me luck this week 🤞

I have had that ‘hurry up’ thought so many times & when I do I end up doing a sloppy job & end up redoing whatever it is I ‘hurried up’ with but when I slow down & take my time then I’m pleased & happy with the results. Thank you for this session today. Blessings to you two & your families! 🤗💞

I was skeptical of the container method. Now I LOVE it! I'm using it to limit kids clothes and decorations - we're still growing our family, so I want to keep some kids clothes, and I love decorating for the seasons. But I don't need as much as I have! I never thought of myself as a "stuff" person, but magically we ended up with 3 van loads to take to Goodwill... I got my husband on board with decluttering by offering the space for him to use to decompress. We're going to turn it into a prayer space! I've been binging your channel as I declutter about half an hour a day :)
