I have spent hours trying to reinstall carbs in a V-twin.... I can’t even imagine an in-line 4. When they finally slipped in I audibly said “boom” at the same time you did. Lols It’s a magical moment even if you’re just watching someone else doing it.

I assume you found the rubber debris near intake #4? - Excellent Vid - I like the center stand awareness. I rebuilt my 79 CB750's, and plan now to rebuild my wife's 81's. I have no lift, and for the 81 no airbox. I ordered the colors and clamps and rebuild kits. And then figured to rewatch your vid - thanks - different carbs, different bike, but very much the same thing - When re-installing on my 79, Throttle cables and Choke cables were also attached first, and then the same slide time in and roll then down and in. Thanks for the reminder of the silicon lube - wd40 should do fine. I do not recall doing that last time, but having no lift, I recall having the bike between my legs while negotiating the carbs into their original collars on the 79 . For the 81, I figure it should be easier using new collars. I also don't think I will go for breaking them apart if the shafts are okay. Right now mostly float sticking from rusty gas. So I figure to get the internals working and then degunk the external for a visual, and if okay then reinstall. I will review your other vids - thanks again -

Had to give up on fixing my 78 cb750f ss . I found a local guy that actually wanted to help me keep the old bike get back on the road . New head work and rebuilding the carbs too . Took it to the shop Friday . When I showed up Saturday to agree and sign the work order the motor was already out of the bike . He said he had a great time working on something other than old Harley . If it wasn't you this guy is a close second . Thanks for all the great tips you share here on your channel . Cheers 🍺 Cody .

Great video. One thing if you notice the little dot on the diaphragm cover screw that denotes they are not Phillips but are instead JIS (Japanese industrial standard). You may want to invest in a set of JIS screwdrivers. Hard to find in the states. I had to get mine from Japan. I have never rounded out one of these screws since buying those screwdrivers. Love your material. Keep it coming.

I have an 80 CB 750 f. I have become quite good at installing and removing the carbs. have tore them apart cleaned them several times. runs for about 30 seconds and quits. Have compression, spark, spark under load also. Plugs foul except no 4 stays clean. I'm about ready to give up. Had this bike for 3 years and still haven't made it around the block. Thanx for all your great videos .

My method is: I wrap a bath towel over those old petrified rubber boots, then pour steaming hot water onto the towel & cover it in bubble wrap for about 20 minutes. Rubber is temporarily restored to it's youthful flexibility and the rack pops on without reluctance. As it cools, of course it hardens again, so you have to be determined and methodical, not wasting any minutes. It has never failed me, though.

Fellow KZfaqr can you help me out. I have a 2002 XR100r carb. There are 2 brass tubes that protrude into the carburator intake opening. The one at the bottom of the intake opening i can't blow through. The one next to it I can. Should I be able to blow compressed air through both of these tubes?

Nice clear video. I’m still fine tuning F2n (basically our Nighthawk in UK) carbs with pod filters. Bigger mains and pilots. All working well now except needs a few more revs than a standard bike on pulling away from rest. I think it just needs a little bit of fuel screws adjustment. Have you found any tools or methods for adjusting these without taking the carbs off because it takes half a day of carb removal and refit every time I want to vary and test mix screw positions?

Hi, use Silicon-Spray to put the carburators back in place. Just there, where it is needed. I was able to bring the carburators into the position within in under 90 seconds.... and I am not a professional..

Hey I got a problem on my 1980 cb750 carbs. While trying to tune it I turned one of the fuel mixture screws in to far and broke the tip off inside the carbs. I didn't realize it at the time but I couldn't get it to idle properly so I recently decided to just pull them completely out to see what was wrong. When I started taking everything out and unscrewing jets I realized that the number 1 carb mixture screw tip had broken off. I've tried everything. Heat gun, penetrating oil, freeze off, and I have not been able to poke it through Frome the inside of the carb throat. I refuse to try drilling from the bottom because the screw hole is so deep that you can't see the drill bit. My next option is to bring it up to my job to see if I e if our millwrights have a way if getting it out without destroying the carb. From reading online forums, this seems to be a very common problem, so I think myself as well as many others will be very appreciative of any advice/expertise that you can give. Thank you

I have a question you might know where to look. I have a cb750 92, cleaned carbs bit when it try to goes it feel low on power along with it'll start to go but after 20ish mph it doesn't really want to go but still does but feel low on power. We replace clutch because it felt like clutch since it low speed but high ram. We have taken off carbs multiple times and tuned and engine of compression but it still lack power. Any suggestions got tired of throwing money at it and every mechanic nothing given me a straight answer just an estimate saying min of 700$ to fix a problem we don't even know.
