She once said in an interview that the original script was for her to be a single mother raising 3 kids in the projects she refused to take the role only if she had a husband then she left because of the stereotypes portrayed on the show she battled so many demons and didn't give in to the ills of Hollywood.

My condolences to you for your loss. I experienced something similar at work when I lost a very close friend. Several days after her death I received a text message from her cellphone early in the morning, which I thought was somewhat morbid. I figured it was probably her brother. I was talking to coworkers about it in a humorous manner, but in the midst of it all I actually broke down in tears out of nowhere. I couldn’t stop crying. @ProfessorKenneth

it wasn't just about Jimmy, it was about a lot of things. One was James not evolving, seemed like he was always going nowhere in life and John wanted James to have a real steady income like Archie bunker did. John wanted James to a bit more progressive. Then it was Jimmy Walker, then the stories/ scripts..etc....he wanted more pay by that season. It's too bad because he was great on the show. After he left seemed like the show were scraping by with stupid stories. Then when Thelma got married to that annoying football player...lol...it's when I stopped watching it.

People who don't cry immediately after a close loved ones death aren't trying to hold it in. The term "it hasn't hit you yet" is very real. My BFF passed suddenly 20 years ago and everyone I knew cried except me. 3 days later his mom brought some t-shirts with his picture on it and told us the arrangements and I lost it. It's like, my heart wouldn't let me to believe it until right then. Love you and miss you Charles Giddens, rest in peace.

This is how I was every day in October of 2021 when my best friend’s mom passed away because I loved her so much and it hurts so damn much that I’m awake crying at 4:52 in my bedroom alone

I've watched this scene many times in my lifetime. It hit differently this time because my Dad passed away almost a year ago. I just watched it for the first time since then, and the "damn damn damn" hit me like a Mack truck.

I lost my family and have moments of great despair when I think I may never see them again. My mom, dad, and brother passed from 2012 to 2021.

My first English program that I watched in 1977 when I came from Puerto Rico, with my mom and brothers, even thou I didn't know English, I started to like this comedy, I can say I've learned English also by watching it, This scene right here is so powerful, made me cry, she was like so natural and real! what an actriz!!! I watch this scene over and over!

Such a good actress just watching this race your heart it's like a real family member dying. That's how TV affects you you get into the characters in your feel like you're apart of them. That's the magic of TV!
