The reason Gene Steratore was so good as he was he broke into the business the right way, his dad was an official and he worked his way up and paid his dues. That does not happen today people get selected because of politics. Gene was also an excellent Big East basketball official which helps when you do multiple sports. I officiated 15 years football and basketball, I saw people get moved up in disgusting circumstances. Mark my words Brad Allen will get a Superbowl next year, NFL has a way of throwing their weight around because they can.

I agree with Aaron Rodgers about best refs should do more rounds, but I am pretty sure it is spread around because of the Ref's Union and CBA and unions and CBAs protect under-performing employees as a core function. I am not fully anti-union, but this is a legit problem with them IMHO; however, you usually see it with teachers and cops.

I used to hate Aaron. Thought he was the diva everyone said he was. Then around Covid times I saw him on Rohan and gave a listen. I love the guy now. A lot more down to earth than a lot of non celebrity folk.

Rogan is another tool that the bros follow as a disciple, all because he's contrarian. These guys will all say anything to make a buck. One day, Rogan is begging for a Covid vaccine, the next day he's, "oh my idiotic listeners will tune in en masse if I tell them it's a scam".
