In the Philippines it’s also customary to send money abroad but if my kids couldn’t lend me money then it’s fine. I’m supposed to provide for THEM. I could never put a price on my love for my kids or grandkids.” I couldn’t agree with her more. Asuelu is definitely trash, but seeing his family I sorta understand how that came out. They treat him like a pack animal and he takes it out on Kelani because she's so nice in comparison to the women in his family. He has major mommy issues.

The fact that he can tune out and ignore his upset baby and not care about his wife being uncomfortable in the car shows how immature and selfish he is. Locking himself in his room to play video games? He's a big child. Maybe he should be put in a corner for a time out.

That’s what I’m saying... that “man” walked out on your kids before your son’s birthday, at some point, she should’ve put her foot down and tell him to beat it. At no point are any of them considering the mental damage the child has by watching one parent behave like that, just unacceptable. Let him get sent back to Samoa.

SAMOAN CULTURE SHOULD NOT BE BLAME IN THIS ISSUE. Its not the culture, its the family of Asuelu weaknesses and misunderstanding. My heart goes out to Kalani. Kalani is right, she has to stand up for her family. Samoan culture is a rich culture of respects, loyalty, values, love and good manners. The taboo between a brother and a sister also apply to sister and the wife of the brother. That relationship depend on the sister. If the sister advice the parent with love to her brother Asuelu and his wife, the parent agrees in most cases. Parent should know, Asuelu have a family, and he need to earn the bread for the family which is encourage in Samoan culture....You can send money home, but your priority is your wife and children. Kalani make the right decision of walk away when the sister and the mother try to argue with her. Please dont blame the culture, just blame the Asuelu and his family with their weaknesses and misunderstands. Malo mo ia Soifua.
