I used to think that Tamar’s story was just weird. Now after watching this video, (and also partially from a Youth Group teaching from last week on this passage) I realized that it is a really cool story and I now see that she wanted her due justice and she didn’t give up and she would be a part of the lineage of Christ. I also found out that Tamar means “Palm Tree” which in storms are blown down, but when the storm is over, they get back up. Really sounds like Tamar.

I used to too but now I see two things.. 1. He refused to get her pregnant but kept having sex with her 2. He literally was stalling the birth of Jesus by doing so because Jesus came from that line.
@kristen_franklin

@@djidjine5082 Your second point is good. Though, if you think about it, the reward for her actions may have been being included in the line of Yahushua not that she had to be for Him to be born. Like it is written, Yahuah can raise up decendents of Abraham from the very stones. He doesn't need the Jews. He wants them.

Love this ! But you forgot Leah, Judah’s mom. Leah longed for Jacob’s affection, but he loved Rachel. Even after she gave him son after son, Jacob still didn’t give her the love she desired. Every son before Judah has a name that shows she was pinning after Jacob’s affection but when she had Judah, she forgot about Jacob and blessed God for her son. God redeemed Leah… it’s from her son Judah that the messiah comes !

It led to my severe discontentment and jealousy, resulting in me making the stupidest immature decision that will scar me and my way of life for the rest of my time on earth. You excellent question made me go to the Hebrew text as often English unfortunately is not always the best language translation. Basically what I got is though David satisfied his sinful intention, Bathsheba, given David's position did not resist. Not truly consent but keeping in historic and cultural context it is cringey understandable. The good news is that it gave us Solomon. I suppose the lesson is out of tragic circumstances God can and does for the believer often bless he eventual long term result. Hope that helps. Be a blessing.

@@mikenixon2401 I understand what you are saying. But if she didn't consent, then she was assaulted. I am sure she had no choice but to go along with it. He could have had her killed or hurt her had she physically resisted. She probably just wanted it to be over with and then she ended up pregnant.

David was literally the king of Israel Bathsheba was literally a subordinate with no authority. So when the king calls his subordinate to sleep with him what the hell was she supposed to say? no? What if she DID say no? If David could easily kill her husband what makes you think she had any “consent” in the matter? The Bible literally says she mourned Uriah’s death. If she consented she won’t have given a damn about the man.

Ruth was not a Gentile, and the ppl who believe this don't understand or really study the Bible honestly. Deuteronomy says that Moabites weren't allowed within the community for up to 10 generations. If Ruth was a Gentile, then David could not legally be considered an Israelite, and he would thus be violating God's command where He commands the Israelites not to make Gentiles their rulers. David was 100% Israelite by blood.

I was really blessed by what you said about Mary. I have a problem feeling my testimony is boring because I didn't experience a radical change in lifestyle, I've believed in Jesus since I first learned about him as a child, and I know He's been with me since. I grew up in a strict household and didn't like getting in trouble, so between my mother and the Holy Spirit keeping me in line I didn't step out very much. I am definitely not perfect but when I hear other people's testimonies I think no one would care to hear mine. I'm glad I watched this video.

So one of my favorite points of most of the women in the lineage of Jesus is their status as non Israelites. Tamar, Rahab, and Ruth are all clearly listed as non Israelites. Bathsheba is married to a nonIsraelite. Mary is the only outlier, as most of the sermons and whatnot that I have heard in regards to the women in Jesus’ genealogy were the 4 Old Testament women. I have always found that point comforting; these foreign women were grafted to the family tree, and blessed by God.

I just caught your interview with Mr. Jenkins so I wanted to make sure you would catch my response to that interview. I am so frustrated and tired with Christians who essentially wimp out and compromise their testimony for either money, glory/fame or simply pressure from the world. Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness and what communion hath light with darkness and what concord has Christ with Belial. Giving no offense in anything, that the ministry be not blamed. Abstain from all appearance of evil. Come out from among them........... I didn't always agree with you but I must say I was really surprised as I heard you in agreement with Jenkins and unfortunately for you this makes yo complicit with this incredibly harmful view. You Mr. Parr have an incredible responsibility especially to children and young adults who are growing up in a evil world. My world was the 60's but it doesn't compare with the depravity we are seeing today. What makes all this so amazing is that you have all been officially schooled in the faith and now you become part of the problem. Not unlike Allister Begg. For your sake I hope you recant your unholy union with LGBT.

Some really great insight on these women of Jesus’s lineage! I love how you went into detail on each of them and their lessons to learn. Mary and Ruth are both that I look up to as examples of true women of Christ. One side note on Mary’s testimony: I was raised in a co-denominational home where my mother taught the Catholic faith and my dad was Southern Baptist. One thing that my mom would explain from her faith is how some people outside of the Catholic Church see Mary being “worshiped” more than Jesus, even my dad had seen it that way. But she explained to us that it was to honor her for her service to God to bear His son for the world. God saw her blameless and pure, and she said, “Yes,” going all in for the purpose of saving all of God’s people and the entire world. It’s absolutely beautiful! That always will stick with me, and I hope that can help shed some light on that as well, too, for others. Thx again for sharing this Pastor Allen! God bless all!🙌🏻

As soon as you typed exactly what I have heard my entire life, " Catholics believe it takes Mary and Jesus to be saved or they worship Mary.." I laughed," at 56 you can do that. " For me to explain Catholic faith , I can not. It is very deep and I have always known it is still a Christian denomination. My cousin married a nice Catholic man and they live in Georgia but I think they are all Catholic now. School and all. When her father passed away a few years ago, I was sick and sadly missed the funeral. He was a member of the Baptist church and my aunt is still alive and is Baptist and a wonderful Christian lady.. ❤Back to.Mary and I know God wants to see His Humer in things because I fight depression too. So this was probably around 2017 or 18 and all the political/ church mess.. I'm not getting into was already upsetting me with my family I did love. I had no idea where they had been or were understanding things in such a strange out there way.. But my Big sister I love( VERy active in SBaptist church), calls me to ask where I was and even though I was proud of her making sure that my Catholic family in Georgia did know Jesus, she tells me that she was so suprized!! Really blessed at all they knew. My cousins Husband.. In all her effort, she actually and my mom thought Catholic people weren't really Christians. The worship or they believe it's all Mary or ❤😂something. I told her when I finally and calmly got it.." Ann in my small town where we were raised..( she is in the city now)... The most Christian fruits I have ever saw produced in my 56 years are the two homes across from where I live. Two sisters, one with an awesome husband and family that KNow and love Jesus and people.. They 100% ❤❤ of Jesus. So I would and never thought only Baptist or Catholics were not going to heaven. ❤❤❤❤ There are 1 liners almost for every protestant church too. When we switched several years ago I was told over and over how the Christian Church believed that you had to be Baptized in water as part of your salvation. I WAS baptized so that wasn't an issue but, now I have learned through 2 of the largest Christian churches in our state that It is very important but now or since 2015, I've not heard that must one time. You are saved and they Baptize later. People are just funny.. Praise God Revelations,. Tells us people from every tongue, tribe. And nation will see the Kingdom of Heaven !! Praise the Lord! Blessed to be your sister in.Christ.. God keep our eyes and ears open for You!!

Great video🎉 I do believe Bathsheba was SA by King David as to why his daughter was SA by his son!!! I feel like Bathsheba will soon get her own justice

Maybe, maybe not we were not there. But what we do know is, God calls David a man after his own heart. God never said that about any other human being. And we also know that the Lord chose David to carry the lineage of the Christ. And king David’s kingdom was always spoken of by God as an example to the kingdoms that followed. Based on that, I do not believe David SA her.

@@dayair1dude David SA her because when Nathan rebuked David he said that the rich man took the poor man's for slaughter so it was SA.

@@mbrilliB It does not actually state that he took her by force. But considering the transgressions that followed you maybe right. Nathaniel rebuked David because he committed adultery with her, then had Bathsheba’s husband killed, , and then took her to be his wife. But as horrendous as this story is, it shows Gods unworldly ability to forgive us even for sins we may consider unforgivable. As long as we are willing to truly repent from the depths of our being. I am always overwhelmed by the grace he shows towards us.

With Bathsheba we have to remember if the King sends for you. You're not going to say no.

Actually 3 of the 5 had sexual sin in their story (Tamar used deception and engaged in prostitution) but we serve a forgiving God! Btw, this video made me realize how vulnerable a woman is to sexual sin when she is not Godly covered by a man (as we see in these 3)...we STILL see that being the case today! This helps explain why the Bible mentions Godly coverage so many times... 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾

Yes. There is Tamar, the daughter in law of Judah (mentioned in this video) and Tamar, one of David's daughters who was raped by Amnon, David's first heir.
