To get the password for the rude Slytherin portrait at the bottom of the grand staircase corridor you need to have your invisibility cloak on in that area. Then there will be two Slytherin students that appear and you just follow them and then they say the password and then you have it.

When you were at the Great Hall there was an intro that showed you a person with a book. The tables were empty except one. You need to talk to the person who has the book.

Seeing these dueling mechanics makes me appreciate HL even more! Loved how they had the behind the scenes as the rewards. I don't remember seeing those elsewhere, please play them all!

The difference in spell power really shows in dueling if you don't do any of the discoveries vs finding all of the discoveries.

I have never taken such visceral enjoyment in another’s misfortune as I did with the Colin Creevey challenge. I remember the whole thing start to finish and it has been at least fifteen years since I played the game. My 10 yo self has never felt so validated.

The fact that you can't get a broom is highly lore accurate. Umbridge confiscated Harry, Fred and George's brooms remember

I always found OotP interesting because where most games has you complete main quests to unlock new side quests, this game has you complete side quests to unlock a main quest. 😂

Right? It's such an interesting gameplay decision. It really does feel like they built the world and everything first and then realized they needed to make a game out of it.

You can also duel random students just cast at them & itll start....might not work all the time (more often on slytherin students) but yeah its cool

I remember playing this game on the Wii, I couldn’t figure out how to find all of Lunas things at the end of the game. The motion controls were agonizing at times.

Yep, there was so much promise behind using the wii remote for and movements, but it never felt right to me. This playthrough is on PS3, but when I originally played it, I was on the Wii.

I think you can't jump in this game. You need to move things so you can either walk on it or grab the ledge to climb up.

There's a medium article with instructions that works pretty well for the 1st two games. Just google "Silver Laide Harry Potter" and it should come up. Once you hit GoF, the PC and console versions are pretty much the same. Since the console versions are much easier to find and usually pretty cheap at used games stores, that's the route I went.
