I put some red shrink tube on mine and made handles. Looks more like it’s larger brothers now and the grip is more comfortable too. These are great little pliers.

They're great for what they r but if u will be using u work in any sort of trade that will require u to use ur edc pliers on a regular day basis I strongly recommend that u go with the slightly larger 125mm knipex cobra.

you can get almost double the leverage with the 5 inch model than the 4 inch model. The 4 inch is pretty bad

The next size up with the rubber grips are still incredibly small and still fit in, for example, one of the back sleeves of a Condor pocket pouch. I found these 4" ones incredibly tiny.

I have these. I do plumbing and electrical handyman and renovation work. I use them all the freakin time. Well worth the price tag, even if they are the perfect tool only occasionally.

I pair these with the smooth jaw version and carry in a klein leather pouch. They're great at just about everything , and very handy. With both pliers i can turn a nut on a bolt while holding the opposite end from moving.

My 2 pennies- 1. For edc, they should disassemble for easier carry. This would allow us to carry bigger size for the same space expense. 2. Knipex are the highest quality and performance, but irwin and channellock brands are a much better value. The channellock brand handles dirt and abuse much better than the knipex for a quarter the price.

I've had a pair of these in my carry pretty much since they came out. It's ridiculous how often I end up using them. They work in so many situations it's impossible to keep track.

i have been EDC carrying pliers like that for the last 15++ years. Only my ones have red rubber handles, and are about 5% bigger. It is a part of my EDC kit a carry because i daily ride my Supermoto bikes. And with daily riding a dirt bike to work, you need some tools with you :)

Gotta say I just bought these after a million videos like this and I'm returning them asap. They're unusably small. I can't manipulate them with one hand at all which completely negates most of the convenience. Better off destroying my hands like I have for the past ten years. They'll be hard as steel eventually...

They also produce a similar one, that can open nuts in all metric and inch sizes. They are sold together as EDC tools in a small pouch here in Germany for 65 euros.

Kuh-nip-ex (but make the 'kuh' very short, and rrrroll into the 'nipex'). 'Nigh pecs' just means you're near pectorial muscles worth mentioning

FYI, it's pronounced Kuh-nip-ex. They even have a special video on the proper pronunciation. Just sayin. I carry these little pliers every day in my edc pouch. They're pricey but mam are they worth it. I use them constantly. I added shrink tube on the handles of mine to help with grip and give a bit of cushion. I also cold blued where they were bare metal to help with corosion resistance

I may have to do some digging into that to see/hear how its pronounced in Germany 👍 thanks for sharing!! A lot of people would just adamantly say you're wrong instead of being open to learning. I certainly didn't know it was pronounced differently there and in north America 👍😁
