One thing I notice about Zhin. He's a neat guy. $2900 per month for a 2-bedroom is still a good price but I guess that it's because it's not located at a prime area. Still not bad considering that he's sharing.

Oh normally people don't buy bulky furniture as tenants because it's hard to move when inevitably need to move. Just a tip from someone who rented for years. IKEA and fortytwo are best friends of tenants.

Why would you feel bad though? You are just blindly following societal trends to feel like you fit in. Rent should be kept a minimum where neccesary. You should always make investment or asset-oriented decisions instead of creating extra liabilities.

2.9K for a 2 BR condo sounds expensive. But then again thanks to covid, landlord are benefiting from such an increased demand

About 3 months ago the rental market was at its peak. A HDB common room can easily cost 1k per month to rent. For 2.9k with such a great condition, it's actually a good deal. The only downside to me is he seemed to be forking quite quite a lot of money to buy the furniture as it was only partially furnished.

2.9k for 2 people would have been too high costs if you intend to settle down and get your own home. I mean unless this is less than 20% of his income?! If more then yeah, crazy. 😂 Would make more sense if he is splitting 3 ways. Imagine if it's split 4 ways... that condo is gonna be claustrophobic.

Felt sad and angry when Zhin said you have to prepare your rental profile which includes your race. We need to be better.

@@CakeBlowsTNT statistically certain races raise higher propensity for property damage and increased rate for maintenance. Certain cultural practices may also impact the longterm maintenance of the house. Women tend to have better hygiene as tenants. These are all hints for you to figure out.

Its seems,he is a property agent ? Renting here is affordable than buying if do not have the 25 %. . Renting here is relatively low unless , u want stay I prime location . BE happy that you r enjoying facilities without paying maintenance fees.

Pleaseeee, living n renting here in SG is sooo comfy , convientient n spacious.Unlike living overseas in UK n Au.. Our SP power, rates still quite low. Do u notice , alot of ang mo love to come to Asia.

seem to me that “adulting” is being depicted as moving out and staying alone in the youtube industry, misleading the younger generations. sg is already such a small country yet ppl still want to take up more space and make the rich, richer by renting their extra flats. isn’t adulting about growing, earning money, giving back to your parents instead of throwing $2.9K per month to other people and contributing more waste to the society by purchasing furnitures that wld potentially be thrown away when moving out. just my opinion.

agree in some ways but also some people might be dealing with unhappy or even abusive family situation and want to move out for the sake of their mental health. and some people just want to move out to be independent and to grow as an individual, i don't think there's one concrete definition of "adulting". if staying with family and giving back to parents makes you happy then go for it it, if living away from your family and being independent makes you happy then go for it.

These can be true in some cases. But like others have mentioned it depends on the person's circumstances. Giving back to parents is fine but not a 100% must as it goes both ways. The parents must show responsibility in bringing up the kid, providing good education for the kid to smoothly transition into the working world. Then and only then would it be right for the parents to expect something in return. Not everyone in the world experiences this and we've seen many stories in youtube where the parents irresponsibly have 5-10 kids without even thinking of the costs involved to raise them. In this case the kids might grow to resent them upon reaching adulthood and distance away from them. There are also other stories like abuse, parents divorce, etc. These could be valid reasons on why some are choosing to move out.
