This week the cheapest Porsche 911 Carrera Coupe in the USA with under 100K miles and a clean title gets a much needed oil change. The process to change the oil is the same for both the 996 and 997 generation of the 911. Doing this yourself can save you hundreds of dollars.
There is also trouble in paradise as the Porsche 996 has a coolant issue pop up. I was able to get footage of the cause of the issue and talk about the fix.
For the oil change tools that you will need:
1. Breaker Bar
2. Gloves
3. Socket Wrench
4. 10mm Socket
5. Torque Wrench
6. 10 Quarts of Synthetic Oil (I used Mobil1 5w-50)
7. 10 quart or greater oil drain pan
8. New oil filter
9. Crush washer
10. A utility knife or some type of cutting tool
11. Oil filter wrench (Part number for one option is 000-721-920-40)
12. 8mm hex socket
Torque settings:
Oil drain plug: 37 ft.-lb. / 50 Nm
Oil filter canister: 19 ft.-lb. / 25 Nm
