Some people back then wanted this guy to replace the late Bon Scott in AC/DC. I think he had fit perfect in my humble opinion. Great react.

Wow, when he started singing I thought this style sounded so much like Bon Scott. Can only assume he had an influence in the how Bon Scott took on being a lead singer.

Love Stevie Wright. One of the best rock voices. Pity he got wrapped up in the fame and drugs. Died way too young.

You should check out Evie (part 1, 2, 3) an absolute legendary song by Stevie. It is a life story event. You must listen to all 3. In order. Or don't bother. Suzie will be crying at the end.

you may not know this but one of the guitar solos (not sure which one) is actually Malcolm Young. the rest of it is pretty much George. there's also that pic of Mal and Harry walking out to perform (think at the opera house)

Stevie wright was the first song writing partner of George young ❤❤❤. It was Stevie that wrote the songs for the first few albums of the Easybeats 🎉🎉🎉. People seem to have forgotten about this. Everybody talks about the vanda and young partnership with no mention of Stevie.😢😢😢😢. George Only Wrote the melody s to the songs that Other people did the Hard work for.😢😢😢. George young always needed someone to help him with his melodys. The Easybeats should have been called Stevie wright and his Band the Easybeats 🎉🎉🎉. Then he might have been given the respect that he is definitely deserves ❤

Great Aussie classic Rock song from the 70's . Stevie was in the band The Easybeats , with a US hit Friday On My Mind, but couldn't make it there . The band came home broken and split some time after. Stevie's life was tragic and he became a shadow of the Rock star you seen in this clip. I always believed if Sevie's life wasn't some messed up he could of been the best replacement for Bon Scott after he passed , but drugs and mental issues made it impossible in any case. As a few have suggested his bigest song was the classic Evie pts 1, 2 and 3, but pls listen to the studio version. The live version is ok, but the emotion of this song is best felt on the studio recording. Blackeyed Bruiser is one of my favorite 70's songs , thanks for reviewing this, as its often over looked for Evie . Cheers from the Armchair Head Banger from down under 🤘😈🤘

Also - his backing band is the same one you saw when you reviewed John Paul Young's Yesterdays Hero. Stevie is former lead singer of the legendary Easybeats (Australia's answer to the Beatles)

Stevie was a great performer. If you like this you will love Evie Pts 1, 2 & 3. You should also try Guitar Band and Hard Road (Rod Stewart covered that one). Plus anything from The Easybeats!

Harry Vanda and George young were part of this group, yes older bro of Malcom and Angus. The Vanda and Young who wrote a lot of hits like Evie 1, 2, & 3.

The reason why Stevie wright had mental health problems after the Easybeats was because he was told that his music was to soft for the UK's music 🎵 industry. So George told him that he was being replaced by Harry Vanda. After the Easybeats broke up Stevie went through a midlife crisis because he didn't know anything else. He tried Heroin thinking that would make him more talented. But he got hooked. He checked himself into the Chelmsford private hospital where were all of his problems started 😢😢😢. He was given 14 electric shock treatment's and a cocktail of drugs that nobody knows what was in them. That put him in a deep sleep induced coma for two weeks . His brain could not get the oxygen that he needed 😢😢😢 so he Suffered from brain Damage for the rest of his life. And nobody ever let's him live it down. He tried to get help for his drug addiction' but couldn't find anyone to help him 😢😢😢😢

This is great, Aussie Rock Stevie Wright is the Singer, and he was the lead singer in The Easybeats with the two writers of the song Harry Vanders and George Young. Vanders and Young were to huge writers and producers in Australia. George is Malcolm and Angus Young's from AC/DC big brother, they wrote Blackeyed Bruser, Guitar Band and Evie for Stevie wright and you can here the AC/DC influence coming out as they wrote for and Produced the first 5 AC/DC albums. Harry Vanders and George Young are the Harry and George in Dire Straits Sultanas of Swing.

The Chelmsford private hospital was such a nightmare for the people who were unlucky enough to be sent to. They were responsible for the Death ☠️ of at least 25 people who were unlucky enough to get the same treatment that Stevie wright got. Stevie was so scared of the place that he actually actually had to jump out of a window to get away. But he Was found by a staff member and taking back. They CHAINED him to bed. And started his treatment over again. With out his permission.. . The Chelmsford private hospital was also responsible for the Suicide of 26 other people. And some other people where sent to a mental Hospital for the rest of their lives because the. " Doctors who treated them not Board Certified to treat any body 😢😢😢. I call them Doctor Frankenstein and Igor. And they were able to get away with it. The Head Doctor who treated him committed Suicide before he was charged with the Criminal actions 😢😢😢
