A leaky window would not explain the mold or mildew between the seats or on the end portion of the seatbelt that is usually rolled up near the floor when not in use. What does explain that is the recent hurricanes in Fla. If the car was not fully submerged but still had water inside what typically happens is that someone tries to clean it up as much as they can and get rid of it as quickly as they can. No matter how well they cleaned the car, even if detailed, what ends up happening is that the salt water that got into places they can't clean starts to do it's thing and you get recurring mildew, strange smells, and worst of all, all the electronics start to do very bad things. The dealer may or may not have known it was a flood car, having you point it out let them know what to look for, they looked, found what they found and are going to dump it as quickly as they can at auction to keep it from costing them a lot of money down the road. Not to mention if they sold it to someone with hundreds of thousands of fans, well we know what that would do if you even mentioned being ripped off by a dealer. Love the channel!

Leather seats are bad news in hot climate, cloth is better as it can breath

What about a Jeep with a soft top? I don't believe they are diesel and won't be so low to the ground. With you guys living on unpaved roads, it could be dangerous for such a low car. Just a suggestion.

Heated seats are good on bad backs. I ran air conditioning and ran heated seat on my back! HEAVEN!

mold means prob in hurricane and flooded

I can tell u a whole lot of vehicle were saturated with water during Hurricane Ian and insurance e companies and owners just traded them out at auction. I saw a 2019 Dodge Scat Pack that had water intrusion and needed an electric seat motor. insurance company was going to total it but owner decided to just have the seats, and carpet removed and professionally cleaned and a new seat motor put in. Crazy!

I dont think id have been comfortable buying that car with the leak, even if they fixed it . keep on looking!

Being from a hurricane prone place like North Carolina, I know when you buy used cars shortly after storms have rolled through your area you really have to check whether the car had been in a flood or not that could lead to wiring issues later along with mold

Any car that has mold and mildew in the back floorboard could also be the result of being in a flooded areas after storms in Florida and areas along the Gulf Coast. That could mean the entire area under the front seats and under the back seats could be filled with mold and mildew as well.

The moldy Mustang could have been in a flood . Check the Fax history.

Beware of cars being sold after all the Florida Floods, Check under carriage because sea water does alot of damage. Just like the Jag it may have been in the flood and water got in through doors. Good luck and find something dependable.

Best time to have a convertible in Florida is at sunset. Watching the sky change from clouds to the stars coming out is magical. Backseat not compatible for a large person. Trunk not too terribly big. But who cares...it's a convertible..you're in Florida..nothing better for cruising around. Love the Mustang. 🐎

Believe it when you get comments saying this video was great and enjoyable. I'm old as dirt, LOL, and this has been one of my favorites so far. I liked the first Mustang but understand the need for a larger screen and cloth does tend to have a lot of wear and tear. And it stains and shows dirt. George is right when saying a leather interior is easier to keep clean. Cloth interiors also hold odors, and we know that Jeremy is often a bit gassy! Have fun looking and hopefully you find one you both like. I can relate to George being short as I am only 5 feet now. I used to be 5'2 1/2 but age and arthritis has made me shrink in height and spread in other ways.

I loved my red Mustang convertible. At the same time I had an awesome TBird with ground effects. You had to be careful with that because you'd drag them. I loved it. Black, dark tinted windows, cranberry colored cloth seats. Those were the days.

I had a Mustang, same color but a 1996. I loved it! But then I had a baby and needed a lot more room… I really miss it. I ended up buying a brand new Tahoe. My baby is now 23 and still have the Tahoe. I would love to get another one!

Great choice keep looking.. mustangs are notorious of engines blowing up at 100 ths miles I know I owned one but it was a 1978 new off the lot.. serviced by me.. check the engine too .. to make sure they aren’t having early issues or other issues

I love my Mustang Convertible. Check the rear windows to make sure that they completely go up because that is an issue with the 17 and 18.

Careful on buying preowned cars after hurricanes go through. Many were flooded. I’m in Ga. We get them up here.

No to the mold.

A 4- door Jeep hardtop that has removable panels instead of a rag top plus your homestead site floods. You’d still have convertible with ground clearance , can still haul things inside plus you can still carry passengers comfortably plus plenty of leg room! Oh can get larger screen an still have heated an air conditioned seats!!! JUST A THOUGHT …. My son lives out your way an I know about what happens there when the creek rises in Florida!!!!!!

Just some thoughts - yes, leather is easier to clean and take care of, but the down side is it gets extremely hot in the sun. Maybe a SUV convertible might be a little more comfortable and higher off the ground - also much more room for hauling stuff. Take care and God Bless from Colorado!

Little info. I lived in GA and FL and had a Mustang convertible. It was a lighter blue, between what you were looking at and powder blue. In FL you might prefer a lighter colored car, less heat absorption. If you leave the top down when parked the seats will get super hot, especially leather. I had to cover the seats with a towel even for a short period of time. Glad you could not get the one with mold; you would never have gotten it all abated. Sure did love my Mustang. I called it a pop top.

Shopping for a car is not an easy thing. I hope you find the perfect car for you both. 💕

Please remember all the crazy traffic down here in FL. They’re suppose to tell you all details of cars. Maybe get vin numbers and look up. I have a bad feeling about the mold.

I had a mustang, and the tube that the water ran from the windshield down to the ground got clogged with leaves, etc so it backed up into the passenger side floor board. Don't do it. It never stopped. After we had the cleared tube, it wasn't nearly as bad, but we could never stop the mold. With southern heat always an issue, if you close it back up, it'll become a greenhouse.

Look for rust on bolts under seats - would indicate flood damage!

Sounds like that 2nd mustang needs more than a detail. The roof may need replaced or floor board is giving it out. I always test drive my cars and take them thru a car wash to look for leaks.

Now a JEEP like a vintage CJ7 CJ5 , would be FUN and practical for gas.... Can even take the top and doors off...cruise on the beach, Daytona Beach you can drive on it, Plenty of room for friends too!! Growing up in Ocala, I use to go to Daytona Beach a lot, my brother had a CJ5 we would go to Daytona we had so much fun in it!! But a newer jeep would be fun too! Just MO ;-)

Jeremy I'm with you, my truck had to go into the shop my sister wreck it and I had to drive a rental that was so low I didn't drive it much was afraid I would tear up the bottom. This may or may not be something you've thought about but make sure the back seats lay down, or you're going to be limited in what you can haul. I thought ALL back seats laid down, but my last car had fixed back seats. It was SO annoying. I absolutely love the hatchback I have now.

Coming from the UK its funny to hear you say that a car that does 27 miles to the gallon is good mileage. We typically look at any where between 40 to 60 miles to the gallon as we still pay more for fuel here. At present its dropped slightly to $8 a gallon. Diesel sits around $10 a gallon

You have heat on the rear window to clear foggy window and, yes, we do get frost and occasionally snow. I has gotten down to the 20s in central Florida. About every 15-20 years or so we get a really cold, damp winter. Don't forget your winter coats.

Chances are that one moldy Mustang was in one of the recent hurricanes. Cars are towed away, sold at auctions then cleaned enough to sell. If a pro looked through it much better I bet they would find a mess underneath it all. Trunk liner lifted would show also
