Hillary Employs Noise-Blocking Machine During Fundraiser

Hillary Clinton held a fundraiser in Denver yesterday, and while we’d love to tell you what was said, we can’t because she employed a static noise machine which blocked out all audio. Wouldn’t want some nosy journalists finding out what she says to wealthy donors. Cenk Uygur, Ben Mankiewicz, John Iadarola (ThinkTank), and Mark Thompson (The Edge Podcast), hosts of The Young Turks, break it down. Tell us what you think in the comment section below.

I am a 69 year old married man with 5 children and 8 grandchildren, in my last years I have thought about my life as well as the lives of others in the United States, At this moment in our history, I believe our government has lost all credibility with many (fi not most) most of the electorate. Bernie voices the concerns and general distrust felt by what was the American middle class and the poor. His nomination and election to the Presidency should be a shoe in but money, both political parties, the main stream media are doing all they can do to destroy his possibility of nomination and they are using every means to do it. I cannot speak for anyone but myself but I am ashamed of my country in the respect that we should and could be better than this. I just got back from 3 weeks in Italy and as I talked with average people there and they told of their government that has 27 political parties that can't agree on anything and a looming problem with immigration as well a terrible unemployment problem among the younger people (40% with 18 to 27 year olds), it is not much of a stretch to see the United States in the same condition if we don't make changes and elect competent people who care about the country above themselves and wealthy supporters. "Go Bernie!!!!!"

From that little snippet of video, I have no doubt that you could take the audio to a sound engineer and they could eliminate the static from the audio and get a clearer audio of what Hillary was saying. If any sound engineers are reading this, I beg you to get on this!

It's wrong to call it static really. It sounds like static, but it is forced randomised noise rather than true static. A sound engineer would need to know the 'encryption' for want of a better term, to undo it. With real static we already know what the main natural causes of static look like and can deduct them carefully.

The only people I heard using such things for noiseblocking were the Scientologists in Hemmet California. Initially I thought she was using it to block what the protesters were saying, but blocking what she was saying is VASTLY more duplicitous.

Depends. The static might has degraded the audio enough that it will remove whatever she was saying as well as the white noise. Maybe someone has sophisticated enough equipment that they could overcome that, but I tried it with Audacity (free program) and it was still muddled too much to understand. (Then again, might just be that I suck at it?)

+fanficbug - Because there's a point where I can distinctly hear her voice (although I don't know what she's saying), I think that it's at least partially recoverable. The trick is using the right kind of filter and applying the right settings. I have a bunch of audio filter programs on my iPad, so one of them should work.

I decided to do a quick test to see if it was feasible and results are... promising? The problem was the the video I used (some 33 second one on KZfaq) was a small one and it barely had any footage, and what it did have was about 6-7 seconds of looped footage. Within the horrendous audio I managed to isolate even worse audio of someone saying a few unintelligible words behind applause and a couple of cheers. I literally scraped off noise to discover more noise. XD Will the voice become more intelligible if there isn't any applause? I don't know. Basically I won't know what I'm capable of uncovering until I find the full thing.

I agree with Ben's statement that the media shouldn't intrude themselves in someone's private life if they aren't invited. The problem is, though, that she's running for president! She is running fundraisers to support her campaign and is hiding what she's saying to the wealthy from the common people. Those wealthy people aren't giving her the majority of her votes. Its the common people that are voting for her, thus they have the right to know who she's supporting.
