i love how christine looks very pretty, yet sorta simple,not that much overload of makeup, great dress etc etc

While I do agree to this, you must first consider something. Emmy Rossum, when filming this movie, was 17. Sarah Brightman and Sierra Boggess have had much more time to grow their voices and to make them stronger.

This movie deserved better reviews. Emmy Rossum's voice is absolutely amazing. The acting and the story was great too. You can just feel the music in your heart.

I like both Sierra and Emmy, they are both great as Christine.

Sierra was better in general, but Emmy's coloratura ending to this is just perfect and completely blows any other performance out of the water. It's because she's opera trained. This is my favorite version simply because of that, although sierra's voice is better. Funny fact, Emmy was 16/17 when they filmed this, that has to make you respect her even if you don't like her voice.

Well, I feel that in this movie musical they wanted Christine to be an innocent girl. So getting someone with a less powerful voice gives that innocence...

Seriously! What do people think this story is about, anyway? The Phantom is an insane murderer who impersonates an angel to gain the trust of an innocent young girl who he kidnaps, and then, when he loses that trust, pretends to be her dead father to win it back, all while threatening her fiance's life. Raoul is a patron of the arts and Christine's childhood sweetheart, who adores her, wants to see her happy, lets her make her own decisions, and tries to protect her from harm. Easy choice!

I will never stop loving Phantom of the Opera....I first watched this film when I was 9 years old. I love lots of different types of music now, but Phantom is still my favourite book, film, musical, everything. I love it.

I love Andre and Firman's faces when Christine starts singing - they're like "What? A chorus girl can sing like that?" I love them in this film altogether; I think they're the best ones in it!

I sang this for my school choir. :3 I loved how freely I could use my vocal range in this but nothing can compare to the feeling of this song sung by this wonderful lady. ^///^

Everyone feels for the phantom but let's be real, if yew were Christine and yew had to choose between the first and only guy you ever loved and a deformed, creepy, stalker, murderer; who would yew choose? Everybody feels for the Phantom, the story is written in that manner. But he was never ment to be loved, perhaps if he had worked harder to be celebrated instead of feared..but he was too worried about losing the only thing he ever loved to think rationally. Love does that to people..

Team Edward vs Team Jacob implies there's a correct choice to be made. (Never thought about it but I guess I'd say Jacob? Since he doesn't beat the crap out of you.) Phantom of The Opera is so glorious and complicated: there isn't a "correct" or even "wrong" answer. So please, stop with the "team..." crap.

I know! I freakin' love Raoul! I hate how everybody hates him and stuff, it's not fair. I mean, he was just trying to do what was best for Christine, he didn't want her to get hurt because he loved her to much! Phantom had killed, what, 3 people? What does that say exactly? Yeah... Your niece appears to be a very intelligent fair child, that was an ever so lovely gesture, these lyrics are very precious. I also think your love for your brother seems very special I have always admired brotherly love, to be honest I think is one of the most precious things, a brother loved like that is indeed a special thing: I only wish I had such relationship and hope I can attain something very similar in love.

yes but the phantom is just so...Attractive, not against Raoul at all, but I'm team phantom for sure. All the things he did was because he loved Christine, (not saying that murdering is okay.) and because he was treated so badly, and she was the only one who understood, so of course he loved her, but his idea of love was so twisted that he thought the only way for Christine to be his was through murdering, and in the end the reason why he lets her go is because he put her happiness above his own

I agree with her as well. I can also sing those notes, and hold them for some time as well. I personally think Emmy did a good job, but Sarah Brightman is the origional who most look to. All of them are beautiul and talented ladies who bring excellent music to the world. :)
