He wouldn’t have been a white male for the past TWENTY regenerations if changing races or sexes was apart of his character. The thing that really pisses me off is these sort of changes to established ip come out of nowhere and are handled with the writers version of take a sledge hammer to everything and take a dump on what remains to mark our territory! The issue with a female Doctor was never that she was a woman. It's how they gave a master class in how NOT to write a strong female character. Imo they really screwed over Jodie Whittaker and let her down with what they gave her to work with. Star Trek did the exact same thing with ST:D. When it came out Katee Sackhoff was cast as Starbuck ppl lost their minds about making such a change. The original was good enough and shouldn't be messed with...and then instantly went "oh... I get it and this is amazing" when it came out and they got to see Katee Sackhoff be Starbuck. Audience didn't fall in line because she was a woman. They got behind a well writen character that earned their respect. On second thoughts it IS groundbreaking change never seen before. Never have so many in movie and TV been so keen to utterly destroy what has been handed to them with established IP and stories. Doctor Who taught me so much while I was growing up. It taught me how to be empathetic, believe in myself, show love, and support those around me, all while telling heroic, compelling, and relatable stories on an epic scale. Now, the show berates me and tells me that I am what's wrong with the world. While ruining decades of franchise history, Doctor Who has become the biggest gaslighter in entertainment.

I grew up watching Dr Who, my late uncle introduced me to it when I was small in the late 80s. This was very unusual as I was American and NO ONE had ever heard of it. I watched the revival in 2005 - 2010, and as a long time fan I loved it. However, I noticed as time went on it became worse and worse as if being taken over by activists and the new fan base were tourists claiming they had been there since the beginning in 2005.

Being black, i hate the casual conversion of established characters in various medias from white to black (and being told i have to support it) Like, just make a new and original character that's black, but don't make that their entire personality, its that simple!

Doctor Who has sadly gotten lower and lower over the years. It’s sad. I love Doctor Who for the seriousness of the stories. Jodie Whittaker wasn’t a bad Doctor, the writing was bad. And what they did to the new episodes was just clout and especially selling to Disney. Once I saw that they sold it, I knew it was gonna go downhill.

It needs to be said. Russel T Davies was never good for Doctor Who, it was him that started the focus on family drama. All four of his seasons were about Rose, even the one she didn't appear in. His story arcs were terrible and the overall quality was propped up by other writers. Oh, and let's not forget that he was apparently ok with a flasher having his own spinoff and maintained a work environment that drove Christopher Eccleston to quit after one series.
