As someone who's watched all of the Pokémon anime (Almost all of it as a kid growing up) Pokemon XYZ anime is definitively the peak in quality. If I eved had to re-watch a full Pokémon anime series it would have to be that one. Putting nostalgia aside, XYZ quality wise is the best.

I love all the songs, especially Stand Tall.

My personal favorite series of all the shows is xy/xyz! The intros are awesome, and the show really feels like Ash grew up to be at least a teen, which I appreciate. And Serena (the brunette girl in the openings) is definitely on of, if not my favorite character in the franchise! And the other two in the openings (Bonnie and Clemont) are awesome characters to travel with Ash. Its overall just a great way to continue the story of Ash! Also it totally gave us one of the most iconic scenes in Pokemon history (if you know, you know) 😂

8:25 that character is named Hunter J a completely original Pokemon character she was never in the games and she was a fucking badass villain as her name says she was a Pokemon hunter who would kidnap Pokemon, imprison as fucking statues, and sell them off....she also fucking dies her aircraft crashes down into a body a water with her in it and we NEVER see or hear a word about her for the rest of the DP series

I recommend you also check out all the Pokémon mini series like Pokémon Origins, Generations, Evolutions, Twilight Wings, Hisuian Snow, and Paldean Winds. Unlike the main series they actually tell stories from the games and they have beautiful animation

X&Y are definitely my favorite part of Pokémon

Several of the regions have multiple OPs yes. Like Johto. The second OP is, I think for the Orange Islands arc, which is, sort of in between Kanto and Johto arcs. And Brock did leave briefly for the end of Kanto and the Orange Islands and was replaced by Tracey, but came back for Johto through to Sinnoh. I like the Advanced Challenge OP. I wish there was a full length version of the song. I think it's one of my favourites. The 'coins' shown in the last Gen 3 OP are Frontier Symbols, not badges. The gen 3 games (Emerald at least) and the anime introduced something called the Battle Frontier, and if you beat the 'Boss' (the Frontier Brains) of each Frontier Facility you would get a symbol to prove you won. Which is what Ash was doing for that arc, after having deal with the Gyms/League from Hoenn. 'Isn't Treeko from gen 3' it is, but that wasn't Treeko, that was Snivy. Treeko is a gecko while Snivy is, well a snake. I think Black and White and Sinnoh are the only seasons I never actually finished fully. Dunno why mind you, I just kinda, didn't. XY/XYZ are dope seasons but the Sun and Moon/Alola series is my big favourite. It's SO good. The animation may have changed but it is GREAT. They're so expressive and the battles are so clean and you can tell the animators having a blast with it. People really need to give it a try instead of just dismissing it b/c of the art. The Journeys art style is somewhere between the new Alola one and the older style. I guess trying to find a middle ground between them.

Watch the Japanese version, though they are not that great imo for the first 5 seasons but they ramp it up alot in s6 and beyond. Horizons also has 2 massive banger and by far my 2 favorite pokemon openings

6:46 those were the Battle Frontier Medals gifted by the Frontier, I only played through the Battle Frontier once (Heartgold and Soulsilver) and I haven't watched the Anime season yet (Bing watching the whole show on Episode 69 of Season 1) I only know by research on Bulbapedia what they're called.

Pokemon Brock was replaced by Tracey during the Orange Islands not Johto but Brock was much more popular than Tracey so he came back in Johto and stayed until Black and White replaced him with Cilan Cilan wasn't as good as Brock but Clemont in xy/z was a very interesting charecter

Unbeatable and Stand Up (Battle Cry) are still two of the best themes ever. The energy is incredible and so much motivation comes from it😊❤Goosebumps every single time.

Honestly, my favourite series was diamond and pearl. Still has this OG vibe (first 4 gens had it), story is peak, animation is like early 2000s (which i love), the best ash's rival, Brock is still there. Dawn was great and she had many great episodes. Team rocket had some really cool episodes. It has to many episodes though, in total it gives about 180-190 I belive. For one region And man... Chimchar arc. If you know, you know.

Tracey (I think that's who you meant by terry) replaced Brock during the Orange Island Arc (Season 2) because they thought the audience would see him (Brock) as some sort of stereotype, than to realized that, that wasn't the case and instead the Brought back Brock for the Johto Arc (Seasons 3-5) up to the Sinnoh Arc (Seasons 10-13) making him Ash's longest Travelling companion (With 12 Seasons, too many to count Episodes, 14 years) and that's a brief history of Brock and Tracey to answer your question.

There are full versions of all the openings up to the XY generation, you can take a listen if you want. The full versions of the Black and White series openings are my favorite alongside the Advanced generation openings 🔥💕

I remember when I was in first grade, came back from school. My father was still making lunch, so watched some TV. Zapped through the channels and coincidentally one of them had Pokemon on. Was one of the Hoenn seasons and the first memory of watching it was May in some contest. So the Hoenn anime will always have a special place in my heart. The episodes in Sinnoh are great, too and Diamond was my first game. Might be nostalgia speaking but that has gotta be the best era. Ash actually was depicted as VERY competent, Brock always makes the episode better ofc, and Dawn was actually Ash's equal in a lot of ways while other female companions either looked up to him or treated him like a stupid child.

So Tracey (not Terry) was only there for the Orange Islands League season (which is still part of Gen 1). He leaves and Brock joins back up with Ash and Misty and the three are together in Johto (as you can see in the Johto openings). Brock is with Ash from then on to the end of Gen 4 with the girl traveling companion switching from Misty at the end of Johto to May in Gen 3 and to Dawn in Gen 4. Then Brock and Dawn leave and Ash continues getting new companions every new region after.
