Disclaimer: I’ve only used this on Pokémon and haven’t tested it on other games. This is 100% worth it if you breed for competitive and/or shiny Pokémon but don’t always have the time or concentration to manually do it. You can leave it to farm eggs overnight and then set it to hatch them during the day if you’re shiny hunting. You can do it in shorter bursts when breeding a competitive mon, like a box or two at a time. Anyways, it pretty much let’s me shiny breed and competitive breed while still keeping a work life and social life while actually getting sleep.

I have my own switch up and tested it on all of the games and it worked just fine. The only problem was fortnite, but this is an actual game changer.

Just a tip thats probably obvious to most but if the a b button thing bugs you, they can be switched in the settings. Under settings go to controllers and sensors, change button mapping, joy-con(R). then just click on A button and select/checkmark the B button and it will show A > B. For the B button select/check A. Then hit done still using A because the mapping hasnt been saved yet. A message pops up suggesting you let others know about the change to save them hair loss and its done. Ive found that i still used a to select too much so i just decided to keep stock settings but if you just got your switch that probably wont be an issue.

When the firmware started to allow me to remap (a few months ago?), I reversed my A/B and X/Y. With the exception of a few games that show button positions on the screen (which can get confusing), it works great. This makes going between the Switch and the PS4 or Xbox One much smoother for me.

I still use the Mayflash adapter that he recommended earlier this year. it is the overall best accessory I ever bought for my switch. Thank god I can still use my Wii U Pro. It's the comfiest controller I own for my big ass hands.

Rupee generation worked just fine for me with my pro controller.

If you plug in your PS4 or Xbox one controller in via cable into the switch up adapter you can plug in a headset and hear audio, and I think the mic also works. Oh and if you have the official wireless pc adapter for PS4 controller you can plug it into the switch up adapter and click the adapter when plugged into the switch up adapter and hear audio wirelessly.

I've found the Turbo on the Hori Split Pad Pro really useful for Animal Crossing, since you can set it to keep pressing a button when you're not touching the system. I'll now get a bunch of Nook Miles for a while and use the turbo-A button push to trade them all in for vouchers at the terminal.

I bought the switch up for Pokémon SwSh and loved all the features. I would set it up to run overnight and in the morning I would have one or two shiny Pokémon with near perfect stats. Most of the top tier players admit to hacking or generating Pokémon so I feel like this is a more honest solution to shiny hunting for competitive play. The Animal Crossing mode was a life saver early on. Turbo and fishing are its main points for me. I did come to the same realization about how my brain reacts to different controllers. I would go back to ps4 and try to accept something with circle. I agree that it’s not great for other games but the things it can do that the others don’t is what I like about the device. The one controller looked very uncomfortable all so you could assign turbo. The third one is a solid option that I would buy in addition to the switch up. Being able to make my own patterns would be nice and not limit me to waiting for the switch up to update.

Wulff, i own 2 of these devices. I love 'em never been a hardcore (only casual) Shiny hunter before, but using them gave me the motivation try it. its fun to figure out how it works and super satisfying when it does. I enjoy them, my sun/moon Inceneroar now has a star shiny 6iv descendant thats fun and a lil nostalgic to play with.

I already bought Satisfye grip some time ago, the first generation. It amazingly SCRATCHED backplate of my switch. there are two straight lines across (this is fixed. with their second. generation grip). But it. also totally cramps my right hand (left is comfortable). It feels good to hold, but cramps my hand for some reason, so it is mixed feelings. And also their Case is amazing.

Getting a turbo controller was the best gaming decision I've ever made. It's mostly used for powering through pages of text in animal crossing or mashing the a through max raids in pokemon. I use a sn30pro+ but anything with a turbo button is all you need.

My use for this is that I just really like the PS4 controller for 2D games. So being able to use it universally is nice. The mayflash controller is more to my purpose though because you can also plug USB controllers into it and I have a nice fightpad that I could make use of on the switch.

I think I'd be more interested in a dongle that I can use to connect my pro controller to my xbox

I bought one of these back in March to do the Roto ID Lottery on repeat, and I left it on in the background for a while... 650 in game hours later, I have 130+ masterballs 😅

The Pro controller also has some issues with the x axis with the gyro controls. The resolution is like an order of magnitude lower then for the vertical axis. I have tested this with a few controllers and in multiple games. Like in BOTW, if you pay close attention, the horizontal aiming using gyro jumps ~8 pixels whereas the vertical axis seems to be pixel for pixel or maybe 2 pixels per 'move'. Noticed this in Outer Worlds as well, so it seems to be either a firmware thing, or maybe a scaling thing (the sensors are equal, but the horizontal is scaled due to the screen being 16:9)?

i love the switchup! when i was obsessing over shiny pokemon in sheild i bought this and started farming mesuda method eggs😂 i manually hatched eggs for countless hours myself so getting this was so bitter sweet! love being able to use other controllers too. still have yet to try the fortnite aimbot and mario odyssey mods.

This is the kind of thing I would love to have for power leveling at the End of Disgaea 5 Complete. It took me 200 hours after getting level 9999 the first time, to grinding the same battle, leveling up to 9999, then reincarnation over and over again to beat that final stage. (On PS4) Now playing the game again in handheld mode, makes me not want to do that all over again. Lol

Seems like these macro-driven dongles and controllers always fall short of what they promise to do. I don't see them appealing to more than a small subset of gamers.

I built something pretty similar to (if a lot bigger) than this using a third party switch controller and a Raspberry Pi. I can use python scripts to automate basically anything that doesn't require motion controls. I built a web interface into it that lets me use a controller connected to a PC to play my switch which is pretty handy, and the latency is surprisingly low.

Satisfye I see what ya did....made me but the regular one when I got my a.c. switch. ...months later u give me a matching grip...now I'm gonna have 2....thanks for that.

About the controller layout, if I remember correctly you can actually swap the button layout for Xbox or ps4 layout.

I actually use this device already. PS3 controllers work also wired. The Wii U controller does not though. Also playing with the PS4 controller O button is used in Japan but X is used in the USA. Also if your firmware is updated you can use the Switch button remapping to swap the A and B for a Xbox one controller.

you can now change the controls and make different controls to different buttons so you can actually make it so it works like a normal xbox one/ playstation 4 controller

I pair my controller to my PC all the time with my PS4 very close. If you hold the PS button and the share button, it WILL NOT wake the console. Just a heads up so you don't feel like you have to unplug your ps4 every time. And to pair it again with the PS4 when you're done, it's as simple as waking up the ps4 with the button on it, plugging the controller in with a wire, and hitting the ps button. Then you can unplug the wire, as it was just for re-pairing.

3:02 - 8bitdo N30 2 is better, and connects to the Switch directly

The "confirm" button situation has always been funny to me. The SNES had the original 4 button layout, and there the confirm button was on the right (which Nintendo's used ever since). The PS1 was literally just a modified SNES controller from when Nintendo and Sony were making the PlayStation together, and in Japan the circle button is "confirm" and the cross/X button is what gets out of menus and such. In America, for some odd reason, they switched every game to make it so that X is now the confirm button and circle is the exit button (even though they were made those symbols in the first place to deliver the idea that circle = yes and X = no). Then, the Xbox controller was ripped straight off of the Sega Dreamcast controller with the same button layout and copying the idea of colored yellow-blue-green-red buttons (which was copied from the Super Famicom controller by Sega in the first place). I believe the reason that they copied the Dreamcast controller was due to Microsoft putting Windows CE on the Dreamcast, and thus they had a lot of experience with Sega and their console. When it came time to make their own console, they used the things that they learned from their work with Sega, much like how Sony used what they learned from their partnership with Nintendo for the PlayStation. Long story short: Nintendo used A on the right side before anyone else Sony uses circle as confirm in Japan (same side as Nintendo) but X on the bottom side of the controller in the west Microsoft copied the Dreamcast, which is why their A button is on the bottom

If you have issues with the buttons not corresponding to whatever controller you're using, why didn't you use the Button Mappings to make them line up to the PS4 or XBOX 1 layout
