I think another one of the main problems with the Aphrodite skin is you don’t think Greek at all, let alone Greek Goddess of Beauty. There’s nothing to link her to Greek at all, the heart links her to love but it could easily be overlooked as a small detail to make her seem more girly. I think the concept art is fairly translatable to game, and the fact that they’ve followed the concept art very closely with other skins show that they at least could have kept more of her aspects from the art. I personally don’t have a problem with her short hair, but I DO have beef that they didn’t give her a head piece like literally all the others skins. How is the literal Goddess of Beauty the least accessorized?? And giving her sneakers made her seem less graceful, she is an ancient deity of beauty, if she were to wear more modern everyday shoes, it would probably be heels. Heck, I feel like boots would’ve been better then SNEAKERS. The sneakers honestly make her look like a tennis player. There also bulky, at least make them smaller. I thought the Medusa skin was fine until I looked at the concept art. She was fine but that’s because I didn’t know what we could’ve had. I wish she had more hair/snakes. People said she looked like Sombra but I thought Deuce from Monster High. However Deuce has scales on his skin, which makes it seem like he’s actually a snake monster. And in Gen 3, he’s literally green and has serpentine eyes. Her outfit is fine, but it’s like snake skin/PRINT rather then actual scales. Or more specifically, literally any type of scales. They could be fish scales for all we know! In her art, with the bottom half, it’s like a snake tail. Which makes sense because if she didn’t have legs, she would have a tail. And the white plush in her collar reminds me vaguely of the underside/belly of a snake. Which again, makes sense because it’s near her belly, and if she were a snake, her front would be her belly. Also apparently people have problems with the Artemis skin?? I’m not as much of a fan girl for Artemis as I am for Aphrodite (still love her though) but I thought it looked great. If it’s the hair, I think it looks great. It looks sculpted and I love that detail of it. Some people used a.i to make skins they called better, and a problem I had with that is the skins looked the same. This is a game, they need to make unique designs so they don’t seem copy paste. Artemis having stars or the night as her body and hair is probably Epic Games leaning towards her Goddess of the Moon theme. Even if she seems more night then moon, which would be Nyx, but I don’t think they can plaster moons all over. Hades (gosh I don’t even want to think about his design, why is he a robot???) they could lean towards black, chains, smoke, and skulls, PALE SKIN RATHER THEN METAL SKIN. Poseidon, which is a good skin but I wish we got an actual Poseidon Poseidon skin, hair that looks like it’s wet, shades of blue, shells, water, fish, foam, anything sea related! Aphrodite, pink, white, red, roses, pearls, dove wings, just make her beautiful and girly, make her graceful PLEASE. I spent too long typing this but my feelings are just too strong and I went too far that I would cry if I just erased this. So don’t make fun of me please.

We still have like 2 pages of Querst rewards that are still not seen/in game. it's possibible that we get the concept art as edit style later in the season

In all honesty I didn’t really pay much attention to Aphrodite’s skin, I’ve honestly been enjoying running around as Zeus throwing lightning at others in team rumble🤣

I think Aphrodite looks fine. The concept does look better. But Aphrodite in game by no means looks bad. Also I prefer the in game Medusa over concept art, I like the side part with the snakes, it’s an interesting take.

Aphrodite wearing sneakers?!? She would never wear sneakers. I get that they are trying to make the Characters accessible to younger players, but you need to keep the base of what the characters are. Also. If you make his kilt straight across and take the pants off Zeus, all his styles would look much better.

The top part of Medusa trench was designed like the head of a cobra

The problem is they kinda split it into two styles, making the first more casual and the second one pink, i'd say they could bandaid fix it by allowing both colors on each style, making the second one look a bit more like the concept. if they don't do that at least have white and gold for the alt style as a quest reward theres some hope. ps i realllly like the first one but i think this is a good idea to appeal to people who saw the concept first

Aphrodite’s outfit legit just looks like Hope’s outfit. And her hair looks like Evie’s hair and she looks like Antonia. They could’ve done so much better but oh well.

I mean, it’s called a CONCEPT art for a reason. Artist use it as a base point to modify and change aspects of the artwork as time goes on.

I always feel like the concept art looks better then the skins that release. More often than not its just the stylization changes cause it has to fit the game's art style. But what i really hate is when designs are just completely changed. Looking at Aphrodite, her costume looks plane compared to the outfit seen in the concept.

I personally have only one problem with it and that is that the heart should maybe be removable but with a style but the skin in the Concept may be a quest style since we havent seen all the quest rewards

I think that maybe the concept skins are in the bonus rewards as a bonus style

I didn’t see the concept art before the battle pass came out but this video was so true. They Fortnite team was definitely missing some important details when they made the skins, and these details in the art definitely made the skin pop out more and look more interesting.

This was likely the ESRB meddling with the design considering they have a big hand in messing with stuff to “protect the children”, she still looks great imo but I’ll never understand why they change that much stuff

Everyone keep in mind both her and Medusa are gonna receive an extra style that isn’t a super level edit style later in the season. For Medusa her new style is already fully in the game’s files and what it does is that it gives her green snakes and a green dress while as for Aphrodite we don’t know what her style looks like and we only know that it’s called “Heartbreaker” which some are theorizing is her original survey art version.

Tbh I wanted Aphrodite to look more like a Greek Goddess. It feels like Epic is holding back and I don’t know why. I also don’t care for them slapping Fortnite accessories onto most of the skins, it feels lazy and played out. I like Aphrodite’s 2nd edit style I just wish she had her crown and long hair. Elements that everyone knows made her, her. Feels like someone is intentionally sabotaging it.

Most likely due to poor time management. Sculptors probably couldn't squeeze out full details in time so they decided to scrap some in order to have the skin make it in game on time. Sucks but that sorta thing happens in live service games all the time.

I have a feeling that Aphrodite and Medusa (Mainly Aphrodite as her's is so much more different) will get their concept art forms as a style in the quest rewards tab in the battle pass, as they both seem pretty important to the story. But it's still sad we don't get to see them right away as they both look awesome.

The girls deserved better, I think Artemis looks the best though. Aphrodite looks too pedestrian, they should’ve kept her head crowns and sandals at the very least. The tennis shoes don’t really fit her. The outfit looks like forever 21, Antonia wore it better. She needed more oomph. Medusa’s gown looks regal in the concept art, but her in game model’s gown is insulting. It looks like a shower curtain. I think her gown-less look is the better of the two.

Concept art skins are concepts. Basically to get their general idea of the skin on paper. Change is expected in the final version as concepts by nature are subject to it. You can debate weather the concept is as good as the original version but remember that concepts are NOT promises.

my theory is that they want to nerf the default versions of bp skins so that you get hype and want to grind for the edit skin instead of getting a default bp skin that already looks really good early in tiers

Imagine Aphrodite gets that concept art design as a style once the bonus rewards are unlocked, it’s a good opportunity for Epic to really connect with the community on the frustration.

I was so hyped about Aphrodite when I first saw concept art before ever this season's trailer. I mean, her fit and hair were so much better, this skin actually had some personality rather than being this season's Antonia. I really like Antonia, but having second Antonia isn't cool. I really hope she's gonna have one more edit style fitting to the concept art.

I have a few complaints: 1) Cerberus isn't a dude he's a dragon-dog with THREE heads. This design constantly reminds me of Anubis rather than anything from Greek myth. 2) I know Medusa is the Pikachu of Greek myth , but she ISN'T a deity. What is it with treating her like she is one across pop media? 3) Apollo and Hermes didn't make it in 🥺. The Apollo skin and the runner's suit Hermes (I know the armor version was very popular but I like the "little brother of the gods" concept better) are dope!

I do understand them trying to keep things like the frame rate and everything up to par by making the skins not take up that much memory I'm not to sure really with the logistics, but you see Artimis and Cerbeus with there level of extra detail, they could atleast eith Aphrodite add those extra little details. With Medusa, it is more understandable sense you can't necessarily get that depth of scales without sacrificing some game performance

Garbage tier BP

Aphrodite and Poseidon are the only skins I feel don't really hit the mark on their respective gods; Aphrodite is supposed to be a goddess of beauty but her adaptation looks more like an e-girl saying her outfit is "Aphrodite-core" (granted, Immortal Aphrodite looks so cool) and Poseidon is too goofy to be Poseidon. Every other skin is an absolute slapper though. Cerberus' two other heads being the lapel of his jacket is a very awesome and stylistic change that fits super well with Fortnite's art style. Medusa definitely got a less extravagant outfit compared to the survey, but I honestly much prefer her newer style. I don't think her snake-skin dress is at all lazy, the way it writhes and moves is weirdly unnerving and I think her more sleek outfit compared to her more puffed-up and flashy one from the survey fits better when you understand her lore. The only real problem I have with either Medusa is the hair, I think the side part is lazy and she really should have a hair down style. Zeus having grenades and (weirdly massive) shotgun shells on his outfit seems, at first, a little odd, but learning that his entire in-lore goal is to wipe out mortal life as we know it makes a lot more sense. Artemis looks amazing, I don't even think I need to explain my thoughts on this she just looks so cool. The hair modeling is great, the starry texture with the arrows on her waist as opposed to the usual ammunition looks so good, and her extra style giving her a hood and mask is very fitting. I think Hades' adaptation is one of the best ones this season. His dark, smoky, chains and skulls aesthetic really fits with his extremely regal coat, his shoulders being extremely broad and exaggerated and his large crown. I know the gas mask seems a little strange to some people but personally? One of the most fitting changes that could've been made to a Hades interpretation. With the very gaseous themes, his mask just sort of makes sense? Absolute yap session, but people are spending too much time on the negatives of this season. Yes, the Zeus mythic is not fun to counter. Yes, the weapon balancing is a little whack. But the new medallions are extremely fun and change how you play the game, and most of the battle pass skins are awesome.

Something that hasnt been mentioned is how the pink immortal style of Aphrodite inherited a lot of the design cues from the original Aphrodite concept art like the skirt and chest flair. So I think they split the original concept in two to create both styles, leaving the base one looking a bit plain.

I think they remove a lot of accents because theyre crunching, and they remove a lot of fluff details like the folded out clothes or protruding elements for both time and balance reasons.

Here’s my theory. I think the reason that these concept skins keep on changing from the art is because they’re CONCEPT art which means that is most likely going to change (whether it’s good or not) their are going to be changes happing. There are only a few cases where nothing changes (like Cerberus). Though I do think that most of the time the concept Is better, I do expect their to be changes (wether they’re good or not. But hey that’s just a theory A GAME THEORY, thanks for reading

I like this design more than the concept design

I just hope the next season pass is better. I'm not spending money on this one. Not when I could have a theme that specializes in knights, dinosaurs, or pirates. This season pass has some good stuff, but not enough for me to make the purchase.

Lorenzo was another wierd one that pisses me off to this day. His human form was teased in concepts, but the skull version (which had no concept) was what we got that season instead. I had to wait a another whole season to get the human. They nerfed his anime tall bangs, which gave him character. Though most of the details were technically identical, Epic still managed to make the final model look like a Spirit Halloween costume. While it can be argued that the concept relied on defying gravity to look good, Epic could have taken the risk and given us something unique.
