This Hammock is a game changer! It's packed full of features and perfect for backpacking and wild camping. I've had the Amok Hammock on my wish list for quite some time and now that winter is here in the UK and the nights are darker for longer, it's time to head into the woods and to dangle like a nut bag from the trees. Will it be suitable for multi day hikes? only time will tell, but for now I'm really loving this thing and can't wait to spend more time in it.

Yeah, but the weather is 10x better down south. 🙂 I moved Leeds to London 15years ago, I was sat in rainy/gray Leeds watching the contestants on big brother sunbathing everyday. Decided to get me some of that.

Watching this reminded me why I moved to Scotland. The South is so claustrophobic! Look forward to the multi day hammock camping! I did the west highland way a couple of years back in a hammock and loved it! No greater feeling than laying back at the end of the day. And having your feet elevated does wonders for recovery, you wake up feeling so fresh!

I'd say buy asap. I got my draumr and sleeping pad for €365 2 years back. The prices have gone mad since. Honestly you won't regret. Check Colin Russell up in Scotland too, he uses one. Champion!

this is the best thing i have ever bought, i take it out on day jobs and just wang up at side of a lake and chill. and in morning, you can just sit nice in middle and chill, look about. also the matt fits just perfect inside the Pianeer 2 from terra nova. and the quality, blows me away mate

Great minds mate. Just got an amok last month. Tried it in the garden. Ended up sat out watching KZfaq for an hour. Next level comfort, quality bit of kit. Just super expensive

A first timer to your video's...Still smiling...Thank you for that. The hammock sure looks interesting. I was to hike the Appalachian trail in '95 but my Dad passing put the brakes on my through hike. I'm still smoking the hopium that Maybe I can make the attempt. I'm over 70 and nothing works ...well almost nothing...like it use too. The oldest thus far was 83. A wonderful hammock would sure take the stress off these old bones. I have never seen the Amok before, so I'll look into it more now that you have turned me on to it. Thanks again for all your time and consideration.... Fern and the pup are definite keepers...I'm in Texas....lots of places to get away...Keep smiling and laughing..it's a real pleasure to see that now a days.

You can't beat a good grumble. Love it! Ten minutes of grumbling, LOL. We have the same problem at the spot we use, as it's suddenly become popular. So much so, that the council has even set up a "forest kindergarten" at our spot, and we get told to sling our hook. I've been using the spot for over 30 years. Thanks for the video.

AMOK really saved hammocks for me. I tried a cheapo hammock with a homemade cocoon, didn't work. I then went for a diagonal lay in a Hennessy with a proper tarp and good insulation. Also nope. I simply can NOT sleep on my back, not at home and certainly not in the outdoors. But in my AMOK UL, I can sleep on my side, on my stomach and so on. It's such a nice piece of kit. I went straight for the UL version because I wanted to hike with it. And hiked with it I have.

Gosh, I would never have considered a hammock until I saw this video, I can’t sleep on my back either. The whole setup looks so well designed and the tarp camo pattern is amazing.

Look into hammocks called "bridge" hammocks. They allow you to lay flat, while also allowing for you to lay on your side. Most other hammocks are gathered end and although they're comfortable they're way less amenable to side sleeping, and more or less force you to sleep on your back. The Amok does let you sleep on your side once you've lain it down into the full flat position.

@@DonP_is_lostagain super easy to sleep on your side in a normal hammock just lay diagonal. Sleeping pad/mat makes it even easier.

@@_MrOcean Been hammock camping since about '08. Laying diagonal is how you get a flat lay, but it doesn't make laying on your side easy. It's far more comfortable to lay on your back in a gathered end hammock.

Hi, great to see you again and fab video. I’ve lived down south all my life. Me and my wife do like to go up north and our favourite places are the Lake District and Scotland. I do understand about living down south but one of our favourite locations is the Newforest there’s always plenty of things to do and large open spaces to explore. Also great for mushroom foraging.

Take a trip along the coast to the west and take a yomp around the New Forest. There are lots of busy areas, but there are also lots of truly wild spaces. Come and check it out. :) And as for all us southerners, who are looking for the wilds, we all go up north. 😂

Well they say "Hell is other people!". I felt your frustration. It's good that you managed to have a laugh, in the end. I haven't been out for ages because of the weather. Hoping to get out to the woods this week and will be using my DD Jungle hammock - I love it! I have no problem lying on my side in it, at all. I wouldn't like to hike with it, though. Too heavy.

Especially us southerners, don't notice planes and traffic noise, it's life and virtually impossible to get away from. Sounds of others enjoying the outdoors isn't a bad thing. You'll only get silence in a studio, and that defeats the object of outdoors videos

Congratz on the Amok. They are awesome hammocks. Couldn't help noticing that you had the tarp turned inside out. The writing (logo) needs to be on the outside. There's a label with a pair of feet on it that shows the foot end of the tarp 😉 Happy hang
