It’s really obvious nobody outside of Boston watches the Red Sox. Even after the win streak, I barely saw coverage about them. Duran is the GUY on this team, sad he doesn’t get more recognition.

Duran is stuck behind a loaded AL outfield, you cant tell me Judge, soto, kwan/tucker is not an insane potential starting OF. Duran definitely deserves it over santander, but its gonna be tough to beat kwan and tucker with how good seasons they're having. In terms of how i personally vote for all stars its gonna be focusing on offense and thats where i think Duran definitely is lacking behind guys like tucker and kwan, not saying its not close, but i just think as pure hitters they're better than duran. Its a tough vote for the AL outfield and i dont think it would be a ridiculous snub if he isnt a starter. Duran deserves the recognition, but im not quite sure its an obvious snub given hes not ahead statistically of guys who have missed time.

One bad element in your argument: a guy missing some of the season due to injury should not count against him when he’s had enough playing time to qualify for the stats leaderboard. Kwan is just a couple of at bats shy right now and will be well qualified before the break. Amongst qualified players, only Judge and Ohtani have a higher OPS! Pair that with gold glove defense, and he is the definition of an All Star.

To me, I don’t really care about All-Star selections or game in general. All I see them as is a popularity contest so that the best players can face off each other in a game that doesn’t matter. But at the same time, I understand why some people might be frustrated that their favorite player isn’t an All-Star. It’s telling them that their player isn’t good enough to be recognized for their talents. It’s just my opinion, you can take it as it is.
