Daley Blind didn’t really cut it at United but it had nothing to do with his height, it was his slowness, star in the Dutch league though.. @@jsn14 Alaba is 5”11, Martinez is 5”9.. But still, doesn’t matter at all, as long as he’s got the brains to deal with situations where he can’t win aerial duels he’ll be alright.. I don’t see him playing anywhere other than centre back though.. I think Fred or Garner will play along side De Jong if he comes

Guys who talk about height. Remember a CB named Canavaro. Did anyone question his height or even Ayala for that matter. Yes its a bit lacking but he makes good use of it. There are many CB who are the right height but cant head a ball to save their lives.

Whilst I'll agree and they are good defenders. None of them played in the PL. It's a very physical league and you have to play against teams who use a 6'5 battering ram for a striker, he could have problems. We've already seen evidence of this against Brentford.

Fits perfectly in that role as well he’s fast enough and good enough at 1v1s to defend like a fullback he can also switch play very effectively, also would be very good in the air for a fullback but He’s also technichally very skilled which would allow him to invert into midfield he has the ability to dribble and pass like a midfielder

Highly doubt that's going to be our lineup now Ten Hag has made Maguire captain again. He's either going to be: 1) Bench player 2) Playing alongside Maguire but Varane becomes a bench player. 3) Playing midfield. Maybe alongside Eriksen. If we absolutely have to play Maguire, I think the latter might(?) be the best option. It all depends on if we get De Jong I suppose. What do you think?

When he is defending or opponents are pressing him he is very calm and takes his time unless it's necessary to react quick, but he can also switch it immediately and go Mortal Kombat mode on your ass. Even if Man Utd doesn't perform well, I have high expectation of this guy💯

Antonio of west ham might be a battle he cant win but apart from that theres no team with a more physical striker than haaland. So he will be ok. Arially will be a problem unless hes prime canavaro and even then he'd alot of limits arially.

I think if you pair him up with a bigger defender you won't see the difference in the PL also. I see you concern but I think you will like him, we as fans are almost defestated he is gonna leave Ajax because his aggression he has is something else man.

You can see why Ten Haag wants him or Timber; Quick across the grass, confident on the ball and mobile. Great ability to build up the play from the back as well and good marking and covering skills. Obviously he wants to implement a back three system and one of either of them will perfectly complement the Slow Maguire, Lindelof and Varane.

He's very calm because Ajax has clear vision of how they play. In a different team with different team mates around you it's probably gonna be a rough start. That's probably why Ten Hag wants a lot of Dutch or Ajax players to join the squad. If they succeed and they also get de Jong they instantly are running for top 3 (if Ronaldo stays).

@@farfromparadise18 thats why thay have gabriel. Usually its good to have one technical and one physical CB. Just look at top CBs combinations recently: boateng and alaba. Militao and alaba. Silva and rudiger. Kounde and carlos
