I wish to memorize over 500 to 5000 words in German. Besides that, I am also thinking of memorizing some words in korean (I am planning to start after german)

I have this book 1000 great lives. always had zero general knowledge (math/chess nerd) so am planning to learn the names what their known for and some of the years. (e.g. Henry VIII was born in 1491 (Henry was born on the ROAD in my mnemonic system (ben sys for last 3 dgts)))

Absolutely beautiful. I’m sure many people here can relate, but when I got into memory training my family just thought it was weird. They kept telling me how it wasn’t applicable and it was just useless. I don’t think anyone can watch this and deny memory’s power.

I so agree about internalizing, especially for poems you like. when I was 11 i was lucky enough to have a school teacher who got me to memorise Wordsworth the daffodils. It stuck with me to this day (many years later) and have collected a few others along the way.
