As a gardener, I really thought Sunflower seeds came from somewhere else. But growing your OWN sunflowers can really show you the answer.

For those wondering why the seeds are on the flower, its because when the flower dies, and soil covers the remaining seeds over time, it can grow those new seeds into more sunflowers. Without the seeds, they can't reproduce. Its the same with any food that you find with seeds in them.

I learned it where they came from from my aunt. Last year in April when we went to Wednesday night youth. It's a thing we used to do at church but now it's on a break. Honestly I never knew where they came from till we went. The more you know 😊

Wait til he finds out that each seed has its own flower, and that big disc is the flowers joined together, the yellow leaves you see are not petals, they are modified bracts. Look closely at a sunflower head next time before the seeds start forming, you'll see each individual flower that will become an individual seed. Mind blowing!
