Here's my theory: Mikayla does overly positive reviews at first because there's a possibility that the brand might sponsor her. Then after a certain time and the brand DOESN'T sponsor her, you get her real opinion on the product. The fact that TikToks can become ads after the fact really makes all this flip flopping understandable.

About the milk makeup, not only did she do a an overly positive review, she positively emphasized how cute the mini size is and how great it is for travel, one of the things people have been upset up with milk is them downsizing the volume of product but keeping the price the same , so people are paying more for less

If they would just call first impressions THAT instead of calling it a whole review- they’d solve half their problems.

Where I am from she is literally someone you’d see at the gas station at 1am with the full face makeup, sweats and ugg slippers😅 so it blows my mind that people are so sucked in by her when there are SOOO many other makeup influencers(who are actually honest). I used to kind of like her and before I even saw any videos like this disproving her, I just started feeling the fakeness

It literally takes 5 seconds to say this products was sent as PR but you were not paid to use it (just because you get the product doesn’t mean you HAVE to use it). Mikayla (and company) sound like shopping addicts that is all over moon when they buy something new and then they get over the new shiny thing and cycle starts all over again.

Amazing how people are surprised we don’t really know Mikayla given she popped up out of nowhere two years ago- people need to remember online identities are not the same as who a person really is.

I'm a doordasher, and I've had to Google these fake restaurants to figure out where I'm going. When we get orders from the fake places, the name of the fake place shows up as the pickup location. If you don't already know about them, it's really easy to think the directions in the app are wrong, or that you're somehow missing it. Very frustrating when it first happened to me!

It could be that ppl get excited with bying new products and when they put it on they convince themselves subconsciously that they're great. So when the hype is over, you start to c what's really going on and that those products were actually meh....

Because I've donated to gofundme's before and you could literally put in any name so that could be what they did.

Does she not realise that bad mouthing a product after initially praising it is a red flag when it comes to sponsorships etc. and is probably going to play a part in brands not wanting to partner with her… she’s just giving herself a bad reputation and is showing how untrustworthy and not genuine she is as a creator.

I am so tired of hearing about this woman, and just hearing this woman in general. The voice is annoying. I keep clicking on these videos because I like to watch Angelika, but WHOOF. So tired of the Mikayla content.

It really depends on how fast these flips happen. If we're talking in 2-3 months, then that's definitely suspicious. If we're talking 6months - 1 year, that's more understandable. Opinions change, and as you get more product, you can realize the short comings of products you used to like. For example, the blush one. She loved it at first, but then found blush that was pigmented and took less time to blend out. The drawbacks on that one was not the products fault, but her own preference for faster blending. I feel with makeup it would take time to really analyze and form a full opinion after wearing it multiple times.

I personally think the browthing isn’t bad because her main complaint is about it not coming off but she didn’t know that after first putting it on and she did say about the big brush initially. Not a fan of her and I agree she does scam a lot but I don’t think this one is too big of a deal
