It's really easy, anyone you can do it. Just discard what the other person said, replace it with what you would have preferred they say, then react to that as if it were what was actually said. If you do it confidently enough and shout loudly enough it becomes what was actually said as far as people who either happen to align with your views or who lack the mental capacity to think for themselves are concerned.

The US having debts actually strengthens the value of the dollar internationally, and is part of why the US dollar is kept in the treasuries of many countries.

Kind of, the debt ceiling is questioned because it is a contradictory law. Congress passes a budget, which legally forces the president to follow it. For example, congress says "Collect $70 in taxes and spend $100." The executive branch *MUST* spend that much, and the only way to is by selling bonds at a bond auction. Congress then says "You can't collect more than $20 in debt. Those $10 extra cant be paid, and you cant take out a loan to pay them. The danger comes when its time to pay interest on the loans you've already taken out because you cant pay the interest you default.

There's complicated political situations in most nations. Many are in crisis in one form or another, it's just some are worse than others. For example Australia is stable, mostly safe and not at risk of immediate collapse amidst a multitude of crises. Writing news stories is a game of eeny meeny miny moe.

@@WhatIsSanityAustralia is just looking at everyone else's situation and then looking at ourselves and nervously giggling "uh oh" under our breath. There was literally a kid who tried to do a US-like school shooting in Perth recently. He did his research on punishments and education in incarceration, even talked to his buddies in the US about it and everything. Everyone thought it was a joke until he actually went and did it. Good thing the law meant he only had access to hunting rifles so no one died and he was arrested quickly and without harm. It's an example of how easily influenced we can be; a reminder we are never infallable and when our allies suffer we tend to follow or be dragged along.

Step 1 be a soldier Step 2 continue to be a soldier or quit Step 3 work at somewhere like lowes for the rest of your life. 2nd generation soldiers of acting servicemen can get educational grants but everyone else really needs to work at them, and based on what everyone says theyre taken away all the time.

I liked the mix up. As for the mic, I agree. It's clear the new guy is using something like a USB AT2020 there is a bit of grain in it. I'd recommend a AT2035 paired with a Scarletto2i2 mixer/phantom power source. Combine with a R@de1 arm and a shock mount and your set for podcast quality voice work for under 500$ CAD. Of course the SMB7 is still king, but that mic is 600$ on its own.

Political neutrality is kind of impossible. No one is completely neutral on one matter. You can still be factual and have bias that’s ok. As long as you let your Audience know where your biases lay and don’t try to obfuscate that fact.

@@LordVader1094Not really, bias emerges from what information you talk about versus skip over, unless you could perfectly present every single perspective there would inevitably be some bias. The news without is absolutely closer to achieving a neutral take than most forms of the news but is still somewhat affected by a Western perspective on things.

I mean I just looked it up and read about it. Apparently it went nowhere near as far as it's supporters hoped it would (it mainly found that the FBI was sloppy, which is like finding out that water is wet), and both Barr and Durham were considered hardly unbiased in their approach. So that would probably be why it went underreported...if it packed a major bombshell then several major media franchises would have been all over it.

This continues to be one of my favorite series on youtube. You all are killing it. The intros really set the hype for the video and I actually really liked the dual narration on this video. It felt sort of like I was watching a TV news program with two news anchors talking back and forth and it helped prevent me from zoning out while watching. Also to comment on the bit at the end about the moon, Jake I completely empathize with your confusion. I grew up believing that the moon only shows up at night and a large part of me feels like that's the way it should be. Minecraft has better physics than real life imo

I forgot to comment on it last video, but personally I strongly prefer the text to speech voice as it gave the whole news a more neutral tone than any human voice could, doing 2 things: 1. It feels less biased 2. It takes away some of the horror of some news through a kind of deadpan humor

So what I heard about this debt ceiling thing in the US is “We’re spending much more money than we’re making and soon we’ll have to start paying it back” “That’s not good, let’s just increase that amount, I mean no one can tell us no, we have the worlds largest military” I know many think might makes right but since when did having the biggest stick mean we shouldn’t be good stewards of what we have.

The U.S. debt ceiling is kind of a joke. It's like the sheriff in Blazing Saddles taking himself hostage, "Oh lawdy, he's despit! Do what he say! Do what he say!" Historically, every country besides the U.S. has defaulted on their debt at least once. So I suppose it's a matter of when not if. And when it does happen, it won't be because the ceiling wasn't raised. It will be because the U.S. decides it's simply not worth it to continue paying, consequences be damned.

Yea, it's hard for me to get used to their inflections and follow along when they're not a "tonally perfect" robot and I haven't heard them talk much before. I need to use inflections to tell what people are trying to say and it's hard when someone with their own regional inflections also is kind of just reading off of a paper, inflection wise.

As a US citizen I am all for the govt. Running out of money. Nobody should spend what they don't have. And a lot of that money is going out of our country in one way or another. That or it bailed out banks that should have gone under years and years ago
