My mate was a farmer and he shot deer off his crops when he had to. I'm pretty sure that if he could've got someone to pay a few thousand pounds to do it for him, he'd have jumped at the chance!!

Personally i'm all for introducing more types of predators again, such as bears and wolves. Small numbers (say a few dozen a year) could be introduced in certain areas where there are high deer numbers. Keep deer number better controlled and also enlarge the wild numbers of animals and species in the UK, which would be great I think.

That bear video was brutal, but that's not typical. Brown bears generally don't hunt deer. I was recently attacked by a black bear. I was trying to get the bear off my dog. My dog and the bear were equal size, but the bear was much stronger and the claws allowed it to grip my dog from behind, immobilizing him. When I came up to the scene, the bear was biting my dogs back just as that brown bear was doing to the deer. Luckily, both of us are doing fine a month on. I do buy your argument though that if a deer has to die, its much more humane by rifle than other means they sometimes are killed. In the US, deer are like rats, they are everywhere and in some places, out of control, even with hunters hunting them.

The guy is partly right a lot of the deer on the large estates are fed over the winter to be shot.

A classic case of townies trying to dictate to the country people how they should live. They will then complain when their car gets wrecked by a deer or badger on the road or pigeon crap on their stuff. The answer to Chris Packham is to not let him into the country side. Have nothing to do with him and don't let him film. Once his income is affected, he won't be so keen on messing with the farmers income will he. The law has suspended sections of the general licence but it hasn't said that a shotgun can't be fired everytime Chris Packham opens his mouth on camera.

Pigeon shooting is going to be banned

Not even a minute in and I already feel the urge to comment. The way that people are shocked and horrified by animals being shot is so farcical and hypocritical. Most people are meat-eaters. This means that they are completely happy with the concept of an animal being raised solely to be killed, that they may or may not live in cramped and hazardous conditions, that they may be force-fed medication, and then shot in an abattoir, en masse, with a bolt gun. These deer get to live off the land for most of their lives, in complete freedom. They get shot and killed painlessly and without the fear that the abattoir provides. They aren't force-fed medications. And, above all else, their lives are not wasted. They are sold by supermarkets or, more commonly, are kept and eaten by the hunter. Hunting is a much less cruel and much more humane way of feeding ourselves, yet the public outcry is enormous. So many people are blind to how their food arrives on their plate. If people don't support hunting and hunters, they should be bloody vegans! Rant over!

Your final words in that vid echo my own sentiments. Im human .im a hunter .who are these non humans who want to deny me of who i am ? . When they ban me from eating and having sex i will agree to stop hunting .its that basic

I disagree about hunt sabs but I don’t trespass on there land and stop them doing something legal so why should they do that to us
