The new civic is probably so powerful with a Devouring Swarm that Lathrix accidentally played the clip of him mentioning it twice.

You can get 40% research with just traits using lithoids now since they get +50 leader lifespan and the two new research traits cost 40 leader lfiespan.

Using Incubator AND Overtuned (the leaders of the Hive are young, so it is not dangerous for them to lower the age of death.) would be easier. There would be no need to accumulate such a mass of population on planets and spend resources on maintenance. On the contrary, it would be possible to keep a minimum population for accelerated growth and settlement on empty planets. As soon as a new planet is colonized, you can immediately relocate a huge number of populations from the crowded ones to it.

Time to put on my diabolical hat toxoid hat/re-breather... Effective Combos: 1) Mutagenic Spa + Adaptability Tradition: Requires 20 Industrial District to make empire wide 10% habitability net zero on forge world. 10% increased food production and random district additions. Free slot to build bath. Pros: 20% growth per attendant, Choice of 40 or 20/20 mix for CG/Alloy jobs. Allows for massive workforce growth even if factories not running. Cons: -20% happiness, -40 energy upkeep for districts on this single planet. 2) Mutagenic Spa + Masterful Crafters + Adaptability+ Pleasure Seekers (3rd civic): Effectively Mega Forge Worlds or Slaaneshi Drug Artistry Dens....you pick. Pros: 20% growth per Bath attendant, 7 build slots, Trade value pays district upkeep, Extra CG output for other specialist jobs, Happiness net zero, and Increased food production thus requiring fewer farmers. Cons: +20% pop upkeep (can be lowered with conservationist trait). Mineral upkeep for 20 artisans. 3) Mutagenic Spa + Gene Clinic: Effectively balances each other out with 2 build slots using pops instead of districts. Pros: Doctors satisfy all low industry drawbacks while still pumping babies. If Hivemind may gain +35-45% pop growth on 20 Industry Forge Worlds. Cons: Uses at minimum 6 jobs and 5 CGs not including pop upkeep. May end at net -5% happiness. 4) Noxious + Syncretic Species: Serviles have +5% happiness which will take a 5:1 ratio of Ruler-Serviles to start gaining negatives. Pros: All noxious pops gain constant happiness. All serviles despite loss of happiness produce 10% more resources. Cons: May never truly experience ruler euphoria except in conquered worlds. Conquered worlds will revolt instantly despite amazing defense forces. If given Resilient trait planetary revolts minimal threat, but may become super defenses (pain...in...rear...time) if noxious pops join revolution. 5) Incubator + Syncretic Species + Nomadic: Effectively a modernized rework of my 3rd nation ever built (the Cossack Migration Expedition) harkening back to the 1.0 days at launch. Pros: 45% growth speed on all new colonies. If paired with Expansion "Land of Opportunity" cancels out negatives. Effective pop migration and resource production. Minimal clickwork. USA Simulator. Unemployed actively hunt unfulfilled jobs for free if democratic authority. Cons: If Authoritarian must utilize Corvee Service to utilize traits cheaply but also cancels out said benefits. If Democratic, pops needed in basic resources on one planet will jump to a specialist role on another planet effectively creating chaos. Free will is not for the fain of heart. 6) Incubator + Corvee + Fan. Auth. (Maybe slave guilds as well?) + Overtuned Origin: Slave pops will never become leaders so tune them away to your needs. Pros: An enslaved, industrious, dedicated, and nomadic population of miners serving corvee service under their brutally authoritarian government will produce +50% more minerals (at the start of the game) and can be transported for a mere 16-20 energy....not to mention the other worker positions. Rapid 60% growth of pops in colonies with +20% productive slaves. If placed in a thrall world said slaves (as long as they are under 10) could be infinitely grown at 110% growth speed to be used for either sale or transport to needed work sectors. Cons: Too many slaves and not enough housing/ police enforcers jobs. (Takes off the diabolical re-breather/ hat) I give thanks to any who read this and understand that as Halloween comes ever nearer our people must understand that whether we choose to flood you with undead, slaves, robots, vore fetishists, actual animals, graveknights, and of course religiously fanatic clone templars you are all accepted into each others arms in oftem times the worst way possible. Thank you for some good backstabbing times and may we all get to enjoy our nukes. Now give praise to the irradiated soil and donate to the radiation eating mushroom cult and just maybe we will achieve ascendance.

With aquatic is cheaper and for ur alloy worlds it will not make a difference with exteremely adaptive. Later u can just change habitability for non wet worlds

Using this without devouring swarm let’s me make a ton of subjects to put the spawning pools on their worlds mid/late game rn and my capital is making a pop every 3 months with the growth requirements to make in at a little over 300. This is so fun lol 😂

I enjoy pretty much all the Stellaris you can put out :) Here's an idea for a shorter video: take this build with Devouring Swarm and paint the map in the fewest years possible, with max difficulty for other empires and ignoring the endgame crisis.

Kinda makes me want to play a hive mind...

And I tried this with Hive + Budding + this offspring ... and I still think its not worth it. Really ...problem is you need industrial districts and this building and someone doing the job for laughable benefit until you have tons of industrial districts ... but it only works on certain planet so you get literally no benefit on other planets where you for example specialty is research etc. It isnt strong even in shown scenario. There are still way better stuff that require so much less setup.
