It's been a painful outboard engine repair that has taken a few months to get finished! Not fun when its your neighbors boat. What could go wrong did because of the corrosion. Had to order a part that needs to come from Japan.

You will need 3-4 guys, and it may take 2 days or 16 hours to remove that generator. Providing that you don't run into any issues.

Hahahaha I had a grease tube shoot across the shop on me once and hit the wall and it was everywhere 😅 looked like a paintball splatter

Your title of outboard engine is spot on. It always bothers me when it’s called a motor. A motor is electric, engine is petroleum. 😊

Kind of agree with you. However it seams all these companies use motor in every thing like. GMC-FOMOCO-motorcycle. The list goes on. Kind of like fishing rod or fishing pole.

Speaking of fresh gas, do you guys think stabil (and like products) work to "save gas?

Within reason yes … we add it to our generator! Ethanol free gas is critical for long term storage.

The fact that everything was breaking and it was its first service. It started with the bolts breaking off and a machine shop had to remove them.

I say Yamaha has a better boat motor, the bolts and grease fittings do not break off.greeze

Yeah bad luck with the engine and tilt trim 🥴

But the lower unit will seize on them if you don't drop it often enough. Make sure you put some grease n that spline before you slide it up.
