The funny part is that Tails voice in the movie is the same person who voices him currently in the games.

Journalists are finding more and more ways to prove how little they know about anything they're paid to cover.

They do know the person who voiced tails in the movie is the official voice of tails from the games. Right? So not even the official voice actors are good enough for this guy.

Reviewers have just gone down-hill, instead of actually liking the practice it seems people now do it as a quick cash grab. Disappointing.

Jim did say that he'd be willing to temporarily come out of retirement if he was offered a script that he felt like the people really need to see. So we may still see more of him one day

Why is it so hard for these so called "critics" to be knowledgeable on the IP they are covering?

I've played about all the sonic games and when the first movie came out, I was glad they changed sonic to what we have now because the previous model was a nightmare. That change saved it and made it (in my opinion) the best movie based off of a video game. I've not seen the second one yet( will soon), but so far I've been hearing positive feedbacks on it.

I saw it, it's basically the cinematic equivalent of comfort food. Obviously for kids but just a fun, relaxing blast to sit through. Jim Carrey carries the movie, like he did the first time, but the supporting cast still does a fine job. Especially Idris Elba's Knuckles. He plays him like a fish out of water type character.

When it comes to critics reviews, I always take it with a grain of salt. Knowing how much I love the first Sonic movie. I can't wait to see the new one!!😁

That’s why it’s best to be you’re own critic, critics are very out of touch nowadays..actually I think they have been for a long time. Also I’m not really a big fan of sonic, I’ve never played the games and I actually enjoyed the first one.

Journalists are always super unfair with sonic in general. They review the games poorly when they actually force the player to not have there hand held the whole time

The only thing negative about my experience with Sonic The Hedgehog 2 was my bottle of water costing $7

The Sonic the hedgehog movie was pretty good I'm definitely down to watch the second one but this "critic" sounds like they actually like the movie but trying to fake that they didn't

honestly as a life long sonic fan I can 100% recommend this to anyone who either fell off from the franchise or has been skeptical about watching the movies. The first movie gave me worry because us sonic fans have been burned before but when I watched it I was blown away by the references, plot and animations. when I seen the tickets were available for the sequel. I INSTANTLY Pre-Ordered them. I seen it in 4D on the 7th (not needed for enjoyment but definitely enhanced it) and will most likely rewatch it with my nieces.

People always love to trash on sonic for literally anything. It’s never enough negativity for these “professional” reviewers

The review gave me the same energy as “Sonic has had a rough transition to 3D”. We get it the games have been a mixed bag but I wish they would focus on what’s in front of them and not the past.

Critics and reviewers now in days are nothing but a joke. Their acting all ignorant and butthurt over movies or video games that become successful

"A cheap knock-off from the ring of power from Lord of the Rings." Yeah, who can forget that iconic scene where the Master Emerald corrupts Knuckles' mind and Sonic has to defeat him so he can toss the Master Emerald on a volcano. That totally happened.

The Tails voice is literally the same voice actor for the games.

Just saw it for myself today and those "Journalists" are DEAD WRONG! That movie was epic and better than Part 1 with a vault's worth of references from the Sonic media. The final battle and post credits scene were insane, they even had me and the entire auditorium cheering! 10/10, go see it right now and ignore those "Journalists" , they are just salty that Birds Of Prey was whooped by Sonic 1 in 2020!

A In universe explanation for the games (and most likely the movie) is the master emerald contains a lot of power, and CAN be used shut down or manipulate the chaos emeralds. But with knuckles only being its guardian he hardly ever does this

i just saw this movie today, as someone who never played many sonic games, never watched the first movie in its entirety, and the only real sonic experience i had was watching those reruns of sonic underground as a kid, i actually enjoyed this movie a lot. it isnt a masterpiece but truly no movie is (in my opinion) i enjoyed it a lot and it actually was the first movie i saw in theaters since rise of skywalker over 2 years ago so it was a nice experience!

Tails sounds alot like gis game counterpart because his voice actress is from the games. They chose her instead of some random celeb because she was the best choice. (btw her voice for tails is the best)

I quickly searched this up because I wasn't 100% sure. But the earlier sonic games that introduced the master emerald, came out before the lord of the ring movies. And I doubt the Sonic devs used a 40 year old book for 1 idea in their game.

So this "reviewer"loves to nitpick so much on a movie. Then let me nitpick on him of his 'quote' at 3:19 of "Holy shitake" and say, as someone who actually saw the movie, that Dr. Robotnik actually yelled the phrase "Piece of shitake planet".

Ah the old lovely criticism of Sonic's annoying friends, man I really loved that criticism and it definitely isn't an awful criticism that just negates the fact that bad implementation of characters doesn't mean they're wholly bad characters (even though I do have my least liked characters). Plus they aren't even badly implemented in this movies in my opinion so I just don't really agree with this point, plus the fact this movie fixes a lore inconsistency of Knuckles just going on adventures while the Master Emerald is unguarded and I thought that was pretty neat.

People should really just stop caring if they make bad reviews Because to be honest I think that's what they want They just want everyone to get mad so more people can look at the article themselves and then they make more money off of it I just stopped listening to journalists in general

All I can say is that the 2020 Sonic film is an absolute masterpiece. I haven't seen the sequel but I might watch it when it gets released on home video.

Tbf to Optimus, the theater experience is pretty hit or miss... although the last movie I saw in theaters was Disney's Frozen 2 at the IMAX theater inside the Tropicana casino in Atlantic City... also are they really upset that the animated hedgehog doesn't curse? Sonics hay day wasn’t even the 90’s when he was MADE. My guy can you get that right, his hay day was the the Late 1990’s-2000’s. Sonic adventure was lit but I wasn’t born till 99 so I grew up on x and the ps2 games.

The worst complaint I’ve ever heard is a question. Why is there people in a sonic movie? For many reasons the best reason is so they can add in g.u.n . From sonic x and sonic adventure 2. I love how this movie goes from game to game to get to something amazing. Can’t wait for the third because of it.
