Mark Hacking spent his entire life spinning a massive web of lies. After five years of marriage, he was living the life of a completely different person and eventually his wife discovered that he was no longer the man she married. He tried to spin more lies, but it wasn’t working, so he took one last drastic step to ensure his house of cards didn’t come tumbling down.

If you are a victim of domestic abuse, please reach out to someone for help. Please call the national domestic abuse hotline at 1-800-799-SAFE. That’s 1-800-799-7233 or go to thehotline.org to chat with someone online. The great thing about this website is that, at any time, hitting the escape key twice will instantly take your browser to a google search page. In the event the abuser is nearby, you can ensure that you don’t get caught trying to get help.
If you are having feelings of harming yourself or someone else or even just need someone to talk to, please contact your local mental health facility, call 911 or call Mental Health America who operate the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline at 1-800-273-TALK. That’s 1-800-273-8255. They’re available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

The problem with those lies is that they catch up with you. Once everyone realizes you’re full of crap they’ll lose all respect for you. It’s much better to be yourself , but you were in 4th grade so we’ll cut you some slack. This guy never stopped his childish behavior

Funny, I never lied as a child nor a teen. It's later that I got caught up in drugs, first prescribed, then over the counter (BDD, depression, anxiety, constant stress, all bc my face suddenly got an illnes). When I lie, it's about small things. Except for thievery from my parents, for my drug habit, for about 4 years (caught many times), until I got stabilized around 4-6 years ago. Still fighting, but slowly giving up, especially with the social healthcare level, which is low. I'm gonna die before I reach, at best, 40. I'm almost ready for the eternal voyage, though I do hope for an afterlife. Maybe when you die your brain slows down the perception of time so much so you are stuck in the dream - your new life, maybe this is my 100th slowdown. Hope - mother of all fools.

Is it wrong that when I first saw Lori I thought, "Damn, she is way too pretty for this guy." Also, I will never understand compulsive liars who tell huge obvious lies. I had a fiancé that lied about “little” things. These little things would be spliced into bigger lies. After we “separated” so that I could clear my head and figure things out, he begged me to go to couples counseling. I will never forget the therapist telling me in a private phone call “I’m not supposed to give you personal advice, but the lying when there is no reason to lie is indicative of a personality disorder”. I asked the therapist what I should do, and all he could say was “Hillary, you’re young and beautiful and have your whole life ahead of you”. I knew exactly what he meant. Get the fuck out. I cannot stress enough to all the ladies out there, the little lies always turn into big ones. He will never change. He will always lack empathy and compassion, nor will he ever be able to genuinely care for you. Please leave when you know in your heart that something is wrong.

A woman said she was his cousin and said that the p.olice failed to interview people who’d seen Laci , in the park and around the area & so it couldn’t have been Scott who k.illed her . (But I read that p.olice had spoken to them and they were mistaken as it wasn’t Laci) . Also she mentioned Laci’s dog and the boat . She thinks it’s a serial k.iller who k.illed Laci . She said there was some more evidence proving his innocence. She was very polite very nice and quite sad . I felt really sorry for her . Based on how they met, there's a good chance she would have been in abusive relationships no matter what. Falling for a guy who grabs a log in a fire with his bare hands ... She wanted to find a broken person to fix. And that never works. It just results in codependency, always, and abuse, often. Even if they were to hypothetically "get away with murder" there would still be an investigation. The closer you are to someone killed the more you will be the first one to be investigated to be ruled out. No matter how smart you are, there are cameras, digital footprints, etc. Everywhere you go. There is hiding nothing from the police. It's just blows my mind the kill to protect a secret that ends up being told anyway. 🤦‍♀️

True not all m.urderers are psychopaths and not all psychopaths m.urder but psychopaths commit a disproportionate number of murders . . It is not possible to determine how many psychopaths exist in society . Most people aren’t going to a go to a psychologist and have a PCL-R test to determine if they are a psychopath. ThePCL-R test measures a distinct cluster of personality traits and socially deviant behaviors which fall into four factors: 1) interpersonal, 2) affective, 3);lifestyle 4) antisocial. There are different types of psychopathy , criminal and non criminal . And there are different levels of psychopathy . The scores in the PCL-R for those who are psychopaths vary greatly, revealing that very high to low levels of the condition exist among those who have it

I'm Indigenous American, and I had the regrettable experience of making friends with a Mormon classmate in middle school. One day, she introduced me to her church friends and, without so much as telling me their names, one of the girls full on spit in my face and called me a slur. Obviously, I stormed off before I did something that would get me expelled. My friend called me that night, crying, and explained that this all happened because she had had to "confess the sin" of befriending an Indigenous American person to her congregation... because the Book of Mormon literally teaches that we are the descendants of actual, literal demons (which is "why our skin is red"). Imagine having to unpack all that as a 13 y/o. Laurie looks to me to be some descent of Indigenous American, herself. I can only imagine how hard that was for her.

You are never asked, let alone forced, to get undressed in front of others and have olive oil rubbed on your loins. I really love your videos. I want to add some clarification to what you said about the LDS church, as I am a member of said church. A temple marriage ceremony does not involve washing and anointing with oil. The ceremony involves kneeling at an altar and making promises to each other, the same as many Christian ceremonies. The biggest difference is that we believe that marriage performed in the temple lasts for eternity, rather than "to death do you part". This is why it is often so important to members to marry in the temple - we want our relationship to last forever, even beyond death. The temple washing and anointing ceremonies are part of something called the endowment, where an individual is symbolically cleansed of sin and anointed so that they are spiritually prepared to make promises to God and be in His presence. At one time, these ceremonies were done as you described, but they are no longer. The washing is done with a few drops of water across the brow, and the anointing only involves a small drop of oil on the crown of the head. No other part of the body is touched, and everyone remains fully clothed. We do wear garments with symbols sewn into them. They act as reminders of the promises we make to God in our temples. There is a lot of symbolism in the temple which is deeply meaningful in context. I don't mind poking fun at my religion or saying that we're a cult. But I do ask that the things that I and many others consider to be sacred be respected. Again, I love this channel and I completely understand where you're coming from, I just wanted to provide some first person information. Thanks!

Oh, also. It is untrue that women are subservient to their husbands or that women can't go to heaven unless they're married. Husbands and wives are to be equal partners in a marriage. That is said over and over and over again in our theology. And it's just blatantly untrue that women can't go to heaven without a man. That's nowhere in our beliefs.

Women are second class in the LDS church. In the sealing ceremony women give herself to her husband and receive him unto herself. BUT...the man ONLY receives her unto himself. He does NOT give himself to her. When I inquired about this since it disturbed me, I discovered through study on the LDS church website that men can not give himself to a woman. He needs to be open to receive other women as wives. Polygamy is alive and well in mormon doctrine. It is the same today in 2022. Women have NEVER been in equal standing. PPPP church. Priesthood, Patriarchy. Prophers and the ickiest..Polygamy. It really is a horrible misogynistic religion. AMEN.

Also, prior to that time, I would drive him to work every day, and pick him up, because he didn’t have a car. On a really bad snow day, I called the business and inquired if they might be closing early so I can pick him up. THEY NEVER HEARD OF HIM. Turns out, I’d drop him off and his girlfriend (now wife!) would pick him up. Edited to add: So sooo many signs.

It often only takes one slip up to connect you to a crime, but to not take obvious efforts to distance yourself . Surely that’s not smart . I’d send in a homeless person with cash to purchase several burner phones. That is true. However, having been raised in the church, I've never heard of such a thing as 'unmarried women being denied heaven' the doctrine; I was suprised to hear him say that. Now, the church DOES believe if your family and marrige isnt sealed in the temple, you will be seperated forever in the afterlife (? why would we be denied contact with our families in heaven?); But unmarried women can go to heaven with no issue.

One thing that wasn't pointed out was the fact that Mark sustained a traumatic brain injury while working a summer construction job when he was in high school or right after. It made it so that he had a hard time being able to do coursework in college. His father was a doctor and his brothers were all in the medical or legal profession, too. Mark felt the need to keep up appearances, so it started innocently enough, thinking he could get school back on track, but he ended up dropping out. But he kept pretending to be a student, having Lori and family members proof read papers he downloaded off the internet for his "homework". It came to the point where he was supposed to be going to medical school, to keep up the family tradition and he chose somewhere far from home. I don't know how he thought he could fake graduating from medical school, I doubt he considered that far in advance - he had 3-4 years before that would happen.

@speedingatheist

@@TsmithJustin And that's a blatently false argument. Atheism is the rejection of a believe in god(s). Anything else is on you. You still can be a psychopath, sociopath, sadist or masochist. Nobody ever killed because they believed that there are no god(s). Theists kill BECAUSE they think they do god(s) work. Stalin, Hitler and other dictators killed to stay in power or 'doing god's work'. Religion makes you fly planes into buildings, atheism has no membership requirements.

As someone who grew up Mormon, no one told me what would happen in the temple. I left feeling sexually and emotionally violated. I was stripped and touched in places no on ever mentioned, with no warning. If I had known, I would not have participated. Thankfully as an adult I've grown and learned about cults and have left that one behind me.

Wow. I'm LDS, have attended the temple for decades, and none of what you are saying is even remotely true. Same with comments on the temple from the video. @@MG-mo7mk Again, you can mischaracterize the LDS all you want, as the video did. I've experienced the same ordinances you have and was never touched inappropriately. All those I know who have attended talk of how uplifting everything is. Your story only meshes with those who are anti-LDS. If you told the truth it wouldn't serve your cause well. I get it.
