I LOVE MONSTERS, and here’s why 1. There no long “let’s just jump right in” speech and there’s no long sponsorship, he literally just starts and sucks you in, I LOVE that 2. He doesn’t do all the random stuttering and doesn’t talk like he knows them personally like other crime channels do 3. Stories are always clear and ez to follow 4. He doesn’t sugar coat when he inserts his commentary 5. he doesn’t blank out every crime word like other channels (which I can’t stand) KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK

YES it is. So sick of crazy mothers being blamed for the evil deeds of their children. Did you not watch the video? the things the sick bastard did? Plenty of people grow up with controlling and manipulative parents, and if they all went on to do what he did? the world would grind to a halt. Women would never leave the house. Sexual sadism is something that develops in the minds of people when they are very young. Chances are, he would have became this person anyway. He had no interest in having normal relationships with women. His mother will certainly be to blame for some of his traits, but like i said, HE is to blame for what he did. Hes not a victim of anything. His sister isnt evil, is she? Being messed up by a bad childhood is one thing, doing this is on another level of evil.

Yes she was terrible but why does the father always completely escape blame in this situation? If it was an abusive father people would be screaming "Where was the MOTHER?? Why didn't she do something and take the kids away from that monster!?". But no.. no cries for Dad to help or do something because the mother is always the default parent and it drives me crazy. As parents we do everything and anything to protect our kids but the mother always hold the absolute most responsibility and blame no matter what role the father plays. That needs to change.

If abuse/neglect by the parents could be proven, I feel that the parents should be charged with something too. But so many families are trash that they protect predators in their midst, caring more about fellow family members being mad at them rather than protecting children. Ergo, they need to be held accountable.

Hearing that Denise's dad brought their family dog out to search for his daughter? Shattered me. Absolutely shattered me. Thank you for leaving these details in - its the devastation of these poor families that give us this content to begin with, and I feel unless we hear all the grimey details (as in, a father being so desperate to find his missing daughter, that he brought his family dog, who'd be familiar with her scent already, to search, despite knowing search dogs are trained for it), we don't get the full scope of their stories. And without the full scope, we can't fully remember them.

Behind every serial killer is one messed up family on dysfunctional steroids. This is one of the best true crime narratives out there because it never shies away from exploring the "why" and "how" of monster development. Other news sources don't go there for whatever reason. This is the most important part and it is usually left out. By knowing this info, we can be more aware of the signs around us in others and how to keep ourselves and loved ones safe.

Why because the “this is monster” said so? Is he psychologist that you take his word? Did he know the mother that she had no motherly soft side to her where he hardly even mention the role of the father (in active or passive way) in that family as it’s not important to make his case about “what really caused John to rape and kill”. John brought his victim home and used the electricity from his mom house and she had no clue what he had in his truck obviously he used his mom too.

This dude was in the process of painting our house when this occurred. He was recommended to us by my aunt who just had her house painted by him. We were having our house remodeled by local policemen & firemen who did contracting on the side. These guys would typically come straight from work and have their uniforms & badges lying around in their cars with the windows rolled down due to the summer heat. We’ve always been under the assumption that John stole one of their uniforms & badge in order to impersonate a cop. John would be working along these cops & firemen for months before this took place. We lived in Irvine and this missing girl was big news at the time. We finally learned why John never returned to finish up painting our house and to return some of our personal items he had gotten paint on and said he would take home to have the paint removed. The cops found these items in his garage and contacted us. It’s crazy how many times me, my mom and my baby siblings were home alone with this guy for hours at a time.

I know he did a terrible, terrible thing, but it's important to recognise that he also did some good. Can we all take a moment to quietly thank John for preserving all that evidence so well? Not just that, he also kept it in a stolen vehicle that was bound to bring attention sooner or later. What a helpful guy! I mean, the case was stone cold and if it wasn't for his stupidity we might never have known he killed her. Seriously though, I'm just glad her family finally found her and could properly lay her to rest. I hope they find some kind of peace in their lives and that John does his time HARD.

So many serial killer cases I hear about are just like- The mother: *is horrifically controlling and abuse, as well as sexually oppressive and violent in most cases* The son: *becomes a serial killer/abuser* The mother: How could my baby boy ever do something like this? Woe is me, a good religious old lady with no recognized criminal history! 😭 Smh, it's truly absurd.

My god. How awful child abuse and neglect can already be responsible for tragic results like this (Mommy issues, anyone?) but to use religion as the weapon to inflict pain is unconscionable. A nut job of a mother created a nut job of a son. I hope the families are healing from this now, but really… I know better. First-hand experience of this here, and losing someone to a nut job leaves deep cuts and scars forever. My sincere condolences to Denise and her family. And to the narrator: You have the most beautiful voice that delivers horrible stories but somehow makes them easier to digest! You’re hands-down the most talented KZfaq crime personality and I always look forward to seeing your new videos. And in this one… the choking chicken? Subtle, but funny as hell! Thank you for all your hard work and dedication. We all have a deep appreciation for you!

I'm not sure that I completely agree, Page. I think plenty of people have "nut job" parents, but don't wind up going around murdering people, or become nut jobs themselves. Or are you just referring to him in this case? I am saddened if you have first hand experience of nutty parents. I had wonderful parents, and one of the four of us turned out to be an absolute nut job all on his own. I wish you healing and happiness, and you have a warm hug from me...Laura in EU.

Not another one. This isnt a tragedy, its an evil, calculated, premeditated MURDER. HE DID. Stop with the family background bullshit. Its messed up, it doesnt explain or excuse the horror of what he was capable of doing.

I mentioned it to my much younger brother when he was about 24 and he had never heard it before so I did like a good big brother should and I explained it to him. He laughed and has been using the term ever since. Many of his friends had never heard it before either

obviously john was the way he was because of his mom, but it would be interesting to find out why she such a lunatic too. how far back could you trace this? were her parents crazy too? what about their parents? did denise die because of some echo of abuse coming up from cowboy times? who knows. would be interesting to find out, if possible. i wonder that about a lot of these cases, how far back a person could trace the abuse and craziness in one family.

Cemented his status as a monster. He was a baby monster when he tried his first. Killing Denise clinched it. If she WAS his first. This is one of those that came up around the same time as Dahmer. That really freaked us out at work. I remember everyone sharing newspapers around when they got Dahmer and when they were dragging out the barrels etc. Ugh. That was very close to home. And even closer to my best friends. Unbelievable that no one did a thing about that truck. Thanks sir🤬💔🙏 I hope Denise is at peace and the same for her family. Terribly sad.

I used to live in Irvine and my Mom worked at a place called builders square on Culver drive across from our house. John had a painting business and asked my Mom if she knew anyone who needed a job. So my mom said my two sons do. My brother and I worked for him for a few months. He was quiet, kind of a weakling nerd in our opinion. One night a couple years later I saw this story on Dateline and when they showed who the killer was I almost fell out of my chair. I was like holy shit I couldn’t believe he was even capable of doing something like this.

It's cases like this one that inspire me to keep bear mace in my possession at all times - and it isn't for bears. Of course, it's no match for someone's gun, and there's no way to know how I would react in a situation to a man in a legit looking uniform. However, that's why I pay close attention to stuff like this. I am a medium-small woman who could easily be overpowered, so I read and watch videos of women who escaped their captors. They are some of the most inspiring people in the world, to me. More importantly, I try to avoid situations in which I could be vulnerable. Very scary sh!t. Thanks for another quality video.
