Thomas Bergersen is an elite musician with the ability to create masterful, world-class orchestral music as well as seemingly any other far-flung genre that garners his attention. With the “ultimate” medley, I wanted to put this considerable variety front and center. To accomplish this, I isolated five-seconded samples of every publicly released track since 2010 and mixed them end-to-end in an alphabetized running order. It probably seems like a strange idea, but I promise that it’s pretty cool once you get caught up in it! Think of it as the most condensed, yet thorough, sample reel you’ve ever seen.
I made a few exceptions to the “every public track” rule for the sake of flow and consistency; I opted to remove a number of tracks from the 2012 Halloween album, which included those originally released on the industry albums Shadows and Nightmares, Ashes, and The Devil Wears Nada in addition to those from the “Twisted Dreamscapes” portion of Dreams & Imaginations. I also did not include Thomas’s collaborations with Boom Jinx or his contributions to the soundtrack of The Human Experience.
