last question made me so freaking happy I remember back in 2019 I was going home from visiting my best friend in Florida, and Thomas and Joan happened to be on the plane that I was on. I remember recognizing Joan and tapping them on the shoulder all shyly and asking if they were Joan from Thomas Sanders' videos and we got to chat a bit. I was an awkward af teenager but it made my frickin day to be able to at least talk to Joan and see Thomas on the same plane as me. we didnt get to talk or anything since it was raining and it was a layover and when we got off the plane everyone was in a rush to get off, lmao. but if I ever get the chance to see Thomas or if he happens to see this I hope to get a picture with him. this man has been my idol ever since the vine days and getting to know his friends throughout the years has been so freaking cool

That last answer hit me so hard. I starting watching Thomas and the sides at least 5 years ago, back when i was in middle school and Im now a kind of functioning adult with an associated degree on top of my highschool one. I remember these videos, the sides, and especially all of Thomas' friends reminding me that there is a community of people that fit my personality. The fact that it wasn't just one creator, but also all of his friends. I mean Joan, Talyn, Quil, Dominic, Kenny, Terrence, Valerie, and those are only to name the few that i can think of from the videos i've been watching/thinking of rewatching!!!!! Theres so many more wonderful people!!! Recently while catching up on videos i missed while going through school and figuring my own life out after Covid, I was inspired to try to find this community in my area again, and starting looking into theater again after losing touch with it due to covid. I don’t know what ages you all are, but don’t leave your childhood behind. Integrate it into your adult life. I’m 60yrs old. I’ve just become a great grandmother. I have recently been diagnosed with early onset dementia. For my 50th birthday, my fella rented a bouncy castle, for the weekend. And it was so much fun, laughing and almost weeing 🤣 He and my daughter loved it as well! I had an horrendous childhood, full of misery neglect and abuse. Just laughing til you can’t breathe, is so cathartic. None of us know what’s ahead of us, so have fun, laugh, wet yourself 😂 and get your photos printed, and put them in frames and real albums. Go play on the park. Get water pistols and chase each other around the garden. Do spontaneous activities. I can’t walk any more, but I still love to go to the beach, it clears my head! Life is stressful, it can be messy, exhausting, and worrying, but you don’t have to carry that bag of life stuff, around with you all the time. Put it down sometimes, and go and play! 🌟🌟🌟🌟

I agree with Quill that red plums are a gorgeous color, but I wanted to share with Thomas and anyone else who isn’t familiar with plums that they also have a variety of interior colors. The most common ones I’ve seen are red and white, but I’m pretty sure there’s even more color varieties than just those two ☺️

As someone who LOVES fruits, seeing someone (let alone someone I grew up watching) not like fruits is definitely a new experience but rather extremely interesting. Texture can most certainly play a huge part in food preferences, I'm so proud to see that you pushed through the challenge :). Well done, Thomas.

I remember when i was about like 7 watching Vine Compilation videos, and it's good to see that ur still making awesome videos with less time constraints

I am so genuinely emotionally touched by this video. The topics you talked about were meaningful, yes, but it is so much more important to me than that. I have struggled with eating food because of taste/texture/appearance/etc for my entire life. In the last few years, I've come to the understanding that this is because of more than just being a "picky eater" -- it's a sensory issue that heavily impacts my day-to-day life. I often get a fear response when exposed to unfamiliar foods, or foods that I *know* to be unfriendly to me. I am currently working in early childhood education, and one of the two-year-olds in my care has similar fear responses. (The look on their face when they saw red dragonfruit for the first time! It was very similar to Thomas's reaction to the inside of the plum.) Seeing a representation of that fear response, seeing it normalised, and having Quil be so supportive of Thomas's sensory struggles... I am so emotional. I almost skipped this video because I thought that it being centred around food would make it too hard for me. Too... unrelatable. Thomas's Instagram story convinced me to give it a chance, and I'm *so* glad that I did, because I feel so seen. Thomas, you do not need to "mature" out of disliking fruit. It's okay if it's always scary, or a bad texture, or a bad taste. That being said, the fact that you knowingly pushed yourself to leave your comfort zone and try new fruits -- and to eat fruit that you *knew* was unfriendly to your brain -- is such a show of bravery. The fact that you found some fruits that you do like from this experience is amazing, but I am in awe of your courage in doing this -- and in showing yourself being vulnerable on the internet. That takes incredible strength, and I hope you're giving yourself credit for it. You put yourself down a little bit in the video, saying things like "I'm an adult" and "it shouldn't be this hard" but as a fellow adult who finds things like this incredibly hard... Give yourself credit for what you can do. This clearly isn't about bravery, you have that! It's far more likely to be a sensory issue, which is not likely to change via exposure. You know your brain, and you know your mouth. And now you know these fruits a little better, and you know whether or not they're friendly for you!!
