Thousands at risk of losing phone and internet services in Hawaii

Phone and internet services could drop for thousands of homes and businesses, many of which are located in remote areas. The Department of Hawaiian Home Lands says up to 1,500 households and businesses could be cut off. That's because its carrier, Sandwich Isles Communications, is in the middle of foreclosure.

Look it up. Chinese CEO funneled millions into properties and ivy League college rides for multiple of his children. Over a decade ago. Slap on the wrist cause it's what our entire government contract bidding do as well.

The question I have is why is it that you are showing regular residential communities who are not affected by this? Why aren’t you showing the communities that are affected by this in your broadcast?

the question you have is not going to get an answer that will help anyone. so what if the news shows images of a neighborhood that might not be affected? how is that gonna help the people that actually need help?

@@jdmsll well to answer your response. It would be helpful to show truthful information and not neighborhoods that are thriving and prospering. And all I’m simply saying is to report truthful information. I don’t know about you, but I’d like the truth to be as close as truth can be.

They are showing areas that have sandwich isle currently. All hawaiian homes has sandwich isle services. Doesn't meant that's the only one there. Like HH kapolei has spectrum and SI..

Starlink. This is what Starlink was designed for. It gives internet access to people in remote areas. It is not cheap but there is easy to install. It currently costs $725 to start which includes hardware, shipping fee, one month subscription, and tax. Then it’s $120 dollars per month. Like I said it’s expensive but it’s the best option for remote locations.

How you going sue when the company already issued notification that service will be cut and to find alternative plans? Stop waiting to complain and go find a service to replace them! I’m sure there’s alternative providers out ther

Problem comes when there isn't no other services in the area because SI owns the conduits in the community and is asking an outrageous amount for companies like spectrum or HT to use them.

Weren't they trying to build a tower on one of the islands for service but the locals complained lol. Get starlink problem solved.
