I feel for them. To have something, some probably saved up and waited a long time to experience, go so wrong, deserves some sympathy. It's like for some who finally get Super Bowl tickets, but the game gets cancelled and everyone has to go home. That would suck, wouldn't it? Yes, there are things going on in the world that are worse and should have some of our focus, but when is there not. I still choose to have sympathy for them. As for the weather forecast, it's about a 50/50 chance it's right where I live. Flash flood rains can sometimes come on quick in the dessert, mountains, and most places, you can't always predict it.

Most of them probably have jobs. Attending it only requires that you take a week off work. There is such a thing as vacation time and most decent jobs offer a decent amount of it. I don't see the appeal of this event, either, but to assume they're all broke hippies is kinda naive.

And... nothing happened. It was muddy for a while and now it's all back to normal, near enough, and nothing bad happened. One person died, but that's par for the course whenever 70,000 people get together. The far right was missing, so there was no terrible behavior, no violence and thieving.
